Punjab offers technical support to all provinces
SPORTS BULLETIN REPORT Peshawar (September 29, 2021): Director General, Sports Board Punjab (SBP) Adnan Arshad Aulakh said that Punjab was ready to offer any kind of technical support to all provinces for nurturing their sports teams. “Being Pakistani, all the participating teams are our own and we will be happy to extend any type of assistance to any provincial team or their athletes for polishing their sports skills,” he expressed these views while talking to media at the prize distribution ceremony of Inter-Provincial Athletics Tournament 2021 in Peshawar on Wednesday. In his media talk, Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh congratulated all members of male and female athletics teams, their coaching staff and team management for such a superlative performance. He said it is the result of extraordinary hard work of our coaches and trainers during the week-long training camp. “We believe in merit and our focus is on grooming talented players and promotion of sports culture especially in far-flung areas of the province,” he added. Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh was the chief guest during the last day’s competitions. He also awarded medals to top performers of different athletics disciplines. Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh also had meetings with DG Pakistan Sports Board and DG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Asfandyar Khattak on this occasion. The athletics teams of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also met with DG Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh. Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ghani congratulated Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh and Punjab’s male and female athletes for showing dominating performances and winning Inter-Provincial Athletics Tournament 2021. He lauded the leadership role of Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh in the extraordinary title winning performance of Punjab’s Under-17 Boys and Under-16 Girls athletics teams.

Punjab win U-17 Boys and U-16 Girls Inter-Provincial Athletics Tournament
SPORTS BULLETIN REPORT Peshawar (September 29, 2021):-Punjab’s Under-17 Boys (16 medals) and Under-16 Girls (15 medals) athletics teams with 129 and 103 points respectively, won the Inter-Provincial Athletics Tournament 2021 that concluded at Qayyum Sports Stadium, Peshawar on Wednesday. Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ghani was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony. Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh and DG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Asfandyar Khattak and other officials were also present on this occasion. Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ghani awarded winner’s trophy to Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh at the grand concluding ceremony. After winning Inter-Provincial Athletics Tournament 2021 with a wide margin, Punjab’s young athletes danced and celebrated their overwhelming triumph in a befitting manner. In the Boys U-17 Athletics Tournament, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team with 92 points finished second where the third position was taken by Sindh athletes who scored 53 points. The athletes from Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan had to content with 25, 13 and 4 points respectively. Showing dominating performance, Punjab’s male athletes pocketed 9 gold medals, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals in the athletics meet. The second position team KP took 3 gold medals, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals. The boys team from Sindh failed to win any gold medal. However, they managed to win 3 silver and 4 bronze medals. On the other hand, Punjab’s girls won 6 gold medals, 7 silver and 2 bronze medals during the mega event. Girls from host province KP got 3 gold medals, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals while Sindh female team clinched one gold and 4 bronze medals during the Inter-Provincial Athletics Tournament. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa girls accumulated 64 points to remain runners up while Sindh finished third with 42 points. Azad Jammu & Kashmir scored 18 points followed by Balochistan 12 and Gilgit Baltistan 4 points in the junior athletics tournament. In the third and last day’s Boys U-17 athletics competitions, Punjab’s Majid, Mohsin, Sakhawat and Bilal won gold medal in 4x400 relay event. Punjab athletes Aman, Sakhawat, Mohsin and Majid also demonstrated wonderful performance in 4x100 relay event and obtained gold medal. Mohsin also bagged gold medal in 200m race. The gold medal of 400m race was won by Punjab’s Majid Khan while the bronze medal went to Mohsin. Punjab’s Usman also excelled in 110m hurdles race and secured another gold medal for his team. Punjab’s M Hamza finished second and won silver medal in javelin throw event. In Girls U-16 competitions on the third and last day, Punjab’s Amina, Momina, Fatima and Arooba won gold medal in 4x100m relay race. Punjab’s Sania and Arooba Fatime took silver medals in javelin throw and 200m race events respectively. In 400m race, Punjab’s Zara and Sana finished second and third respectively to win silver and bronze medal for their team. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++=

Inter-Provincial Athletics: Punjabi girls grab five gold medals
SPORTS REPORT Peshawar (September 28, 2021):-Punjab’s Under-17 Boys and Under-16 Girls athletics teams maintained the sequence of dominating performances and won 20 medals including 9 gold, 8 silver and 3 bronze medals in the Inter-Provincial Athletics Youth Tournament 2021 in Peshawar on Tuesday. Punjab’s Under-16 Girls clinched five gold, four silvers and one bronze while the Under-17 Boys have pocketed four gold, four silver and two bronze medals. As far as points are concerned on the second day, Punjab’s boys are leading the event with 59 points followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 47 and Sindh with 14 points. On girls’ side, Punjab’s female athletes had 63 points whereas Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had 36 points till the filing of this report. Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh congratulated Punjab’s medal winning athletes on showing overwhelming performance during the first two days’ competitions of Inter-Provincial Athletics Youth Tournament. Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh said that the hard work of our professional coaches during 7-day training camp reflected in the shape of medals in Inter-Provincial Athletics Youth Tournament. “The excellent medal-winning performance of our players showed that our selection committee has selected all the male and female players purely on merit”. Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh also witnessed thrilling competitions with keen interest. He also met with medal-winning male and female athletes of Punjab contingent and encouraged them for next competitions. DG KP Asfandyar Khattak, Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Khalid Mehmood, Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, Camp Commandant Tariq Nazir and other coaches Ijaz Abdul Khaliq, Allah Ditta Tahir, Nasreen and Sajida were also present on this occasion. Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh appreciated the brilliant performance of Punjab’s talented male and female medal winners. He directed the team management and coaching staff to prepare their athletes fully for the remaining decisive events. Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh expressed his determination that Punjab’s male and female athletes will grab top position in the medals table on the last day of the event. In the 2nd day’s competitions, Punjab’s Khadija won two gold medals in discus throw and shot put events. Rimsha Qayyum and Amina Shahzadi also won gold medals in long jump and 100m hurdles events respectively. Punjab’s Arooba (100m), Amina Shahzadi (long jump) and Rimsha (100m hurdles) also grabbed silver medals while Momina won the only bronze medal on the second day. On the other hand in Boys U-17 competitions, Punjab’s Sakhawat won two gold medals in 100m and 400m hurdles race. Abdullah and Riaz also grabbed gold medals in discus throw and long jump competitions respectively. Punjab’s Mohammad Azam won silver medals in shot put and discus throw events and Saleem Ullah got a silver medal in long jump. The only bronze medal of the day was won by Abdullah in shot put.

A 3-day Inter-Provincial Athletics Youth Tournament starts in Peshawar
SPORTS BULLETIN REPORT Peshawar (September 27, 2021):-A 3-day Inter-Provincial Athletics Youth Tournament kicked off with a wonderful and colourful grand opening ceremony in Peshawar. Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Fahmida Mirza graced the opening ceremony as chief gurst. Zulfiqar Mirza, the husband of Federal IPC Minister, Director General Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Asif Zaman, Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh, Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Asfand Yar Khattak, Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, top officials of other provinces and a large number of male and female players were also present on this occasion. The contingents of all provinces, Azad Kashmir and GilgitBalitistan participated in the march past where Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh led the Punjab’s contingent. In her address, Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Fahmida Mirza said that all the provinces should contribute collective efforts for the true promotion of sports in all parts of the country. “We have chalked out a compact policy which is totally focused on the welfare of sports persons and growth of sports culture. We will also organize sports events on regular basis at tehsil and club level throughout the year”. Federal Minister for IPC Fahmida Mirza congratulated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for holding Inter-Provincial Athletics Youth Tournament. “After this event, Punjab, Gilgit Balitistan and other provinces will also organize their respective sports events in near future”. Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh also held a meeting with Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Fahmida Mirza and Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Asfand Yar Khattak on this occasion and stressed upon combine efforts for the growth of sports culture in country. Punjab’s Under-17 Boys and Under-16 Girls athletics teams offered wonderful performances on the opening day of Inter-Provincial Athletics Youth Tournament and won four medals. Punjab’s Zara Tariq and Sana Farman clinched gold and silver medals respectively in Under-16 Girls 800m race. In Under-17 Boys event, Punjab’s Anees and Zaman grabbed silver and bronze medal in 800m race respectively. Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh congratulated Punjab’s medal winning athletes during his meeting with the athletes. He also announced cash prizes of Rs 10,000, Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 for Punjab’s gold, silver and bronze medal winning male and female athletes respectively.

Punjab contingent leaves for Peshawar
SPORTS BULLETIN REPORT LAHORE (September 26, 2021):-The 42-member Punjab contingent including Under-17 Boys and Under-16 Girls athletics teams and officials left Lahore for Peshawar on Sunday morning under the leadership of Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh to participate in Inter-Provincial Athletics Youth Tournament. Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti and Divisional Sports Officers Tariq Nazir and Waheed Babar are also part of the Punjab contingent. Prior to departure, Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh said that Punjab’s male and female athletics teams have been selected purely on merit and we are quite confident that they will offer handsome performances against strong outfits of other provinces in the 3-day Inter-Provincial Athletics Youth Tournament scheduled to be staged in Peshawar from Sept 27 to 29, 2021. Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh said: “Our expert coaches have imparted the best professional training to our male and female athletes during the 7-day training camp at Punjab Stadium”.

Coaches give final touches to athletes for SBP event
SPORTS BULLETIN REPORT LAHORE (September 25, 2021): Sports Board Punjab’s expert coaches and trainers, on the directions of Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh, gave final touches to the preparation of Punjab’s Under-17 Boys and Under-16 Girls athletics teams on the last day of 7-day training camp at Punjab Stadium on Saturday. It may be recalled here that Punjab’s Under-17 Boys and Under-16 Girls athletics teams undergo rigorous training at week-long training camp for the preparation of Inter-Provincial Athletics Youth Tournament scheduled to be staged in Peshawar from September 27 to 29, 2021. Sports Board Punjab’s expert coaches including Camp Commandant Tariq Nazir and coaches Ijaz Abdul Khaliq, Allah Ditta Tahir, Nasreen and Sajida imparted ideal training to Punjab’s Under-17 Boys and Under-16 Girls athletics teams during the 7-day training camp at Punjab Stadium. Camp Commandant Tariq Nazir said that SBP coaches put extra focus on athletics’ modern techniques, stamina, diet plan and game skill of Punjab’s young male and female athletes. “We know that country’s top athletics teams are featuring in the Inter-Provincial Athletics Youth Tournament and our male and female outfits may face some stiff challenges from their strong opponents in different disciplines of athletics”. He hoped that Punjab’s male and female athletics teams would show satisfactory performance in Inter-Provincial Athletics Youth event.

Ramzan Sajid runs seven marathons in 42 Days
ABDUL JABBAR FAISAL Islamabad (September 25, 2021):-An Amateur Runner, serving as a communication professional in the public sector of the country, Ramzan Sajid announced that he would take part in the seven World marathons in the next 42 Days around the world aiming to deliver a message of ‘Peace and Love for Sports’ to the countries refusing to play in Pakistan. Ramzan Sajid has revealed that he considered himself an amateur runner (as he started running less than a year ago in November 2020). “I had no background in sports, except for watching cricket on TV. I have a hectic full-time job and a family (proud father of two) which keeps me engrossed for most of the day, “he added. Giving details of his plan he asserted that he managed to run 7 World Renowned Marathons in space of 42 Days in Islamabad, Pakistan on the exact days these events are organised at venues in their respective countries, to give the World a message that Pakistan is a country that adores peace and has a passion for sports, starting from coming Sunday, 26 September 2021 by running the Berlin Marathon virtually in Pakistan. “I am not sure if I'm capable of doing it, but I want to have a goal to make the world realised that Pakistan is a sports-loving country having a robust enthusiasm for sports. We have a right, to be given opportunities by the peace-loving countries around us”, he maintained. In his message, Ramzan urged the World to help us avail the opportunities to play and watch competitive sports in our own country. “I reckon that engaging in sports can transform the life for the better - for a long time - especially in a country which remained a laboratory to many adventures and misadventures in the name of bringing peace in the region and the world at large”, he noted. He called upon the runners' community across the globe to guide and support him in putting his message across that the world should recognise the sacrifices Pakistan has offered to bring peace in the World and be cognizant of the tough conditions for athletes due to the non-availability of opportunities to play international sports with domestic advantages. Training camp for U-17 Boys and U-16 Girls athletics starts
SPORTS BULLETIN REPORT LAHORE (September 23, 2021): Ideal physical and mental fitness plays an important role in the success of any athlete in any sport and the players can attain top level physical and mental fitness only through balanced diet and regular exercise; this was stated by Sports Board Punjab’s expert coaches Ijaz Abdul Khaliq and Olympian ShabanaAkhtar while delivering lecture to Punjab’s male and female athletes at a training camp at Punjab Stadium here on Thursday. It may be noted here that as per the directions of Director General Sports Punjab Adnan ArshadAulakh, the training camp of Punjab’s Under-17 Boys and Under-16 Girls athletics teams is in progress for the preparation of upcoming Inter-Provincial Athletics Youth Tournament scheduled to be staged in Peshawar from Sept 27 to 29, 2021. Sports Board Punjab’s coach Ijaz Abdul Khaliq and Olympian ShabanaAkhtar gave useful tips to young athletes regarding their daily diet plan and indoor and outdoor physical exercises during the camp. Punjab’s male and female athletes listened to the lectures passionately. Expert coaches and trainers gave answers to different queries of young athletes during question-answer session. After lectures, Punjab’s male and female athletes took part in running, stretching and other exercises under the supervision of expert coaches in Punjab Stadium.

Fehmid Mirza congratulates Arshad Nadeem
SPORTS REPORT ISLAMABAD (April 13, 2021):-Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Dr. Fehmida Mirza congratulated top national athlete Arshad Nadeem and Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) for winning the gold medal in the Javelin Throw discipline of the Imam Ali Raza (A.S) Athletics championship that concluded in Mashad, Iran on Tuesday. Nadeem threw javelin 86.36 meter to reach on top. Federal Minister said in her message that it was huge achievement for Pakistan and would boost the morale of our other national athletes. She congratulated Arshad Nadeem for directly qualifying for Tokyo Olympic 2021. Federal Minister Dr. Fehmida Mirza assured full support to Arshad Nadeem for upcoming quadrennial international prestigious sports of the world Tokyo Olympic 2021.

Arshad Nadeem leaves for Iran
SPORTS REPORT ISLAMABAD (April 7, 2021):-Top national athlete Arshad Nadeem along with his mentor on Wednesday left for Mashad, Iran to participate in the Javelin Throw discipline of 1st International Reza Cup that will be held from April 11-12, 2021. According to an official of Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP), Reza International Cup is being organized by Athletics Federation of Ira. Arshad Nadeem will depart to Turkey from Iran on 13th April 2021 to attend a 3 week Olympic Training Camp for preparations of Olympic Games 2021. World Athletics Coach Viktor will train Arshad Nadeem. After attending the International training camp Arshad will return to Pakistan on 1st   May 2021.
