Pakistan athletes clinch 6 medals: Shajar Abbas lifts gold in Almaty
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-Pakistani athletes Shajar Abbas, Sohail Amir, Abdul Mueed, Sharoz Khan and Shah Nawaz earned 6 medals including one gold, three silvers and two bronzes in the XXXI Qosanov Memorial Athletics Championship, which was held from June 25-26, 2022 at Almaty, Kazakhstan. According to Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP), national athletes won 6 medals in the championship after showing impressive performance in the international fixture. They created 3 new national records in the events of 100m (created new national record by finishing the race in 10.38 sec), 200m & High Jump.   Pakistani athletes produced notable performance due to the preparations during the National Training Camp at Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Coaching Centre Lahore.  Out class, facilities were provided to the athletes by the PSB.   Major General (Retd) Mohammad Akram Sahi, President AFP and Mohammad Zafar, Secretary General have congratulated the winning athletes and entire athletics family of Pakistan on this great achievement. Pakistani athletes lift 2 golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze in the Imam Reza Athletics Championship
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-Pakistani athletes have lifted 2 golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze in the 2nd Imam Reza International Athletics Championship that concluded Mashhad Iran on Monday, as Shajar Abbas and Mohammad Yasir got gold medal in their respective disciplines. Shajar also inked new national record in 200 meter race with 20.9 second. According to an official of Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP), as many as four athletes Shajar Abbas, Abdul Mueed, Sharoz Khan and Mohammad Yasir took part in the 2nd Imam Reza International Athletics Championship that held from May 29 to 30, 2022 at Mashhad, Iran. Also, tow coaches Qazi Tanveer Hussain and Rana Sajjad Ahmad Khan accompanied the athletes. Besides hosts Iran, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Kazakhstan participated in the international athletics fixture. Major General (Reted) Mohammad Akram Sahi (Retd), President AFP and Mohammad Zafar, Secretary General congratulated the winning athletes and entire athletics family of Pakistan on this achievement. The athletes won 5 medals, and got 3rd position in the tournament. Performance of Pakistani athletes: 1. Shajar Abbas (200 meter) 20.91 *NNR (Gold) 2. Athletics Federation Pakistan celebrates World Kids Athletics Day on May 7
Sports Bulletin Report LAHAORE:-On May 7, 2022, Athletics Federation Pakistan (AFP) celebrated the World Kids Athletics Day as per the announcement and compliance of the directive issued by the World Athletics (International Athletics Governing Body) in Lahore on Saturday. The children of the different schools have participated in this event. Mohammad Zafar, Secretary General AFP was the chief guest of the ceremony. He distributed gifts and certificates among the participating children. He also conveyed a message of appreciation from Major General (Retd) Mohammad Akram Sahi, President AFP / Vice President Asian Athletics Association (AAA) / Chairman South Asian Athletics Federation (SAAF) to children and guests. The key objectives and aims of celebrating and organising Kids Athletics Day  are as under:-  To ensure a steady and sustainable policy of development of the sport of Athletics  To introduce the Children to Athletics at a basic level To expand sport of athletics for schools and all institutions who are interested in the well being of children To popularise athletics in the country and world  To raise awareness on the importance of fitness and encourage people to get more involved in sports and athletics

Arshad Nadeem and Mohammad Yasir leave for South Africa for 4 month training
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-Olympian javelin athlete Arshad Namdeem and him teammate Mohammad Yasir have left for South Africa for 4 months training under the supervision of world renowned mentor Terseus Libeberg. According to an official of Athletic Federation of Pakistan (AFP), duo of top national athletes Arshad Nadeem and Mohammad Yasir (Elite Javelin Thrower) Thursday night left for South Africa. They will train for 4 month under the world renowned coach Terseus Libenberg at North West University Camps in Potchefstroom, South Africa.
