President PTF Salim Saifullah visits wheelchair tennis camp
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: President, Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) on Saturday visited the Wheelchair tennis camp that started at SDA-PTF Tennis Complex Garden Avenue aiming to prepare the national players for the upcoming Para-Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou, China this month from October 24 to 29, 2023.According to an official of PTF, two wheelchair tennis players Asif Gul Abbasi, and Fida Hussian will undergo training under the supervision of Head Coach Asim Shafik and Assistant Coach Noman-ul-Haq. Khalid Rehmani, who is Coach-cum-Manager of the team will accompany the players.The President visited the PTF Complex and interacted with the players Asif Abassi and Fida Hussain. He lauded the services of Khalid Rehmani for his passion and efforts for the promotion of wheelchair tennis by enhancing the players' capacity to participate in international events. He also conveyed that proper structure is being planned at the provincial and federal levels to be headed by dedicated and qualified tennis coaches who are to be nominated by the PTF management.

Pakistan Air Force, Mari Petroleum, Police, and Rangers overcome opponents Sports Bulletin ReportRAWALPINDI: Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL), Police, Rangers, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), and Islamabad overcame their opponents on the second day of the 67th National Hockey Championship, which is going on at Lt. General Nadeem Ashfaq Hockey Stadium, Ayub Park Rawalpindi.Mari Petroleum outclassed Gilgit-Baltistan in a one-sided affair by 15-0 in the day's opening match. Arshad was top scorer with 4 goals for Mari Petroleum, followed by Sufyan with 3, and Amir Sattar and Hasher Ali with 2 goals each. Ali and Rahman Butt also contributed a goal apiece. The match was officiated by umpires Afsar Ali Shahzib and Zahid Hamid.In the second encounter of the day, Pakistan Police overcame Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 3-2. Zahid Khan netted the ball twice while Jameel Bostan added one goal for the police, while Shahbaz and Waqaz scored one goal each for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Umpires Yaser Khurshid, Anwar Hussain, and Wajhat Jangoo supervised the match.In the third match of the day, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa B and Pakistan Rangers went head to head. Pakistan Rangers dominated the match, securing a 7-0 win against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa B. Tauseef Iqbal's brace, along with single goals from Salman Dawood, Zishan Ahmed, and Shehroz, propelled Pakistan Rangers to victory. Umpires Mohammad Bilal, Fahad Ali Khan, and Wasim Abbas officiated the match.The fourth match of the day saw Pakistan Air Force and Sindh B go head to head. Pakistan Air Force showcased their dominance, defeating Sindh B with an 8-0 scoreline after a one-sided contest. Umpires Mohammad Salim Abdul Sattar and Asad Abbas supervised the match.

Managing Director, Army Welfare Trust Lt. General Nadeem Mukhtar graced the opening ceremony as chief guest. Ghani Ur RehmanPESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Archery Association has announced to organize the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Open Archery Championship in the provincial capital Peshawar from October 14 at Hayatabad Sports Complex.Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Archery Association, Internationally Qualified Archery Coach Sarfraz Khan told reporters at Peshawar Press Club that more than 60 male and female players from across the province including Peshawar, Mardan, Hazara, Malakand, DI Khan, and Kohat would participate in the two-day championship in Peshawar.“Chairman of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Archery Association Pir Adil Shah will be the chief guest at the opening ceremony, and will also provide archery equipment to the players. Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: Nida Dar will continue to lead Pakistan women’s team as the national selection committee headed by Saleem Jaffar announced a 15-member squad for the Bangladesh tour scheduled to take place later this month.Pakistan will depart for Bangladesh on 20 October to feature in a six-match white-ball series which also includes three ODIs, part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25. The series itinerary will be announced in due course by the home board.The experienced Iram Javed stages a comeback to the national side after a gap of one year. The right-handed batter last played for Pakistan in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022. Iram also featured for Super Women against Amazons in the three women’s exhibition T20 matches earlier this year in Rawalpindi.Shawaal Zulfiqar and Syeda Aroob Shah have been excluded from the squad that played against South Africa last month in the white-ball series in Karachi, while Fatima Sana, who got injured in the second ODI against South Africa, is still in the process of recovering.
