Asian Games: Bangladesh Women beat Pakistan Women by five wickets
Sports Bulletin ReportHangzhou (China): Bangladesh women beat Pakistan women by five wickets to secure the bronze medal in the 19th Asian Games women’s cricket event at the Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field in Hangzhou on Monday.Pakistan, who had won gold medal in the 2010 and 2014 editions, finished on fourth spot in the event.Later in the day, Sri Lanka and India will compete for the gold in the match scheduled at 1400 local time.After being put into bat, Pakistan managed to score 64 for nine in 20 overs. All-rounder Aliya Riaz top-scored for her side with 17 from 18 balls, hitting two fours. Captain Nida Dar (14, 18b, 1x4), Sadaf Shamas (13, 26b, 1x4) and Natalia Pervaiz (11, 24b) were the other batters to enter double figures.For Bangladesh, Shorna Akter took three wickets for 16, while Sanjida Akter bagged two wickets.In reply, Bangladesh lost five wickets and it took them 18.2 overs to achieve the modest target. Additionally, contributions from Abdul Rehman, Mohammad Imad, Afraz, Sufyan Khan, and Rana Waheed, with one goal apiece.The Pakistan hockey team is scheduled to play their second match against Bangladesh on September 26 at 12:45 pm Pakistan time. Hameed vows to maintain 8 times winning record in the ITF Asian Seniors ChampionshipsAbdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD: Pride of Performance Award holder, and former Davis Cupper, Hameed-ul-Haq will represent Pakistan in the upcoming Greta Sport Club Asian ITF Master II Championship starting from September 30, 2023, at Pattaya, Thailand.Having the feather in his cap of the ITF Davis Cup Commitment Award 2017, Hamid Ul Haq will leave Islamabad for Bangkok on September 27. ITF Master II championship will be held from September 30th to October 5th, 2023 on Synthetic Hard Courts at the Greta Resort, and Sport Club, Pattaya. Hameed will participate in the seniors’ 60 + singles, doubles, and mixed doubles competitions.Hameed-ul-Haq said: “I have already been training for this tournament for the last month and I will try to maintain my record of winning 8 times the ITF Asian Seniors Championships in different age categories and will try to win this championship for Pakistan. Houston to host 2024 WSF World Junior Squash Championships
Sports Bulletin ReportHouston (USA): The World Squash Federation (WSF) board has awarded US Squash the rights to host the 2024 WSF World Junior Squash Championships, with the event set to be held in Houston, Texas July 12-23, 2023.The 2024 edition, which will feature both men’s and women’s junior individual tournaments, will take place at the Houston Squash Club, which is also home to two PSA World Tour Gold events the Houston Open.Next year's championships will also see the men’s and women’s junior team championships being held simultaneously for the first time in event history.The 2023 event, which was staged in Melbourne, Australia, saw Egyptian 16-year-old Amina Orfi claim her second consecutive women’s individuals title and Pakistan’s Hamza Khan become his country’s first champion since Jansher Khan in 1986.In the women’s team event, Egypt also claimed their tenth WSF Women’s World Junior Team Championship title and eighth in succession.This will be the first time US Squash has hosted the event since the 2011 women’s individual and team championships in Boston, when the women’s team - led by 2010 individual junior world champion Amanda Sobhy - finished runner up to Egypt.“Houston is one of the fastest growing squash communities in the U.S. and we are looking forward to hosting the world’s best junior players in Texas, ” said Kevin Klipstein, US Squash President & CEO. “The community is incredibly diverse and energetic, and we applaud all of Jahanzeb Khan’s efforts at Houston Squash Club. The 48-match event will be played across 10 venues from 5 October. The biggest Cricket World Cup ever will see prizes for each league match won. Teams will play each other once in a round-robin format, with the top four making it to the semi-finals.The winners of each match in the group stage will receive US$40,000 and the six teams that do not qualify for the semi-finals will receive a payment of US$100,000.

The preparations for the event are going on vigorously and male and female players from all over the country will participate in the championship.Competitions will be held in eight categories including open singles, amateur, ladies, under-22, senior, media, doubles, and mixed team. Players who wish to participate in the championship can register their names from October 10 to October 20. The championship will continue till October 29, 2023.
