Pakistan to participate in World Team Cup Qualification competitions
Sports Bulletin Report Pattaya (Thailand): Pakistan wheelchair tennis team comprising Asif Gul Abbasi, Fida Hussain, and Mohammad Ayub Khan along with a non-playing captain-cum-coach Mohammad Khalid Rehmani arrived at Pattaya Greta Sports Club to take part in BNP Paribas World Team Cup Asia/ Oceania Qualification competitions. As many as 8 teams from the region including Australia, China, Pakistan, India, Iraq, Korea, Sri Lanka, and host Thailand will fight for the top position, as the topper will join world teams of all regions for the final, which will take place later this year 2023 at United States of America (USA) It is pertinent to mention here that Green Shirts first time participated in this ITF wheelchair event in Antalya Turkey last year and secured 4th position in Asia, as Pakistan had defeated arch-rival India the first time in the history of tennis. Ace national wheelchair tennis lad, Asif Gul Abbasi played in ITF world Rankings tournament last week in the United Kingdom (UK) and reached the Men's Singles final and Men’s Doubles semifinal. Abbasi has been spotted at the 280 position in the World Ranking.

ITF 2 Wheelchair Tennis Tournament: Asif Abbasi spots in final
Sports Bulletin Report Bolton (UK): Pakistan's number one wheelchair tennis player, Asif Gul Abbasi put another feather in his cap after qualifying for the final of the ITF-II a second draw tournament that was held in Bolton, United Kingdom (UK). He made a mark in the wheelchair tennis history of Pakistan after beating a higher-ranked and top-seed player in the tournament. ITF-II a second draw tournament started on Monday and top wheelchair tennis players from around the world took part in the event. Despite facing tough competition, Abbasi showed remarkable grit and determination throughout the tournament, winning crucial matches to advance to the final. In the semi-finals, Abbasi faced the top-seeded player in the tournament, who was ranked much higher than him. However, Abbasi was not intimidated and played some outstanding tennis to secure a nerve-jangling victory in three sets contest. Asif Abbasi said in his post-match comments: "I am extremely happy to reach the final of a prestigious wheelchair tennis fixture. It was an uphill task for me but I toiled hard on the court and I was confident about producing a notable performance. I was eager and well geared-up to show notable performance against a higher-ranked tennis lad to prove that I am among the best players of the world."

Ehsan-ur-Rehman Mazari Federal Minister for IPC was the chief guest at the closing Ceremony. He distributed the prizes amongst the winners and runner-ups and congratulated all the winners and rrunner-ups. Indus Pharma National Tennis Championships to start from March 10
Sports Bulletin Report KARACHI: The 9th Karachi Club (KC) Indus Pharma National Seniors and Juniors Tennis Championships will be played from March 10 to 17, 2023 here at the Synthetic Hard Courts of Karachi Club. The championships will be held under the control of Sindh Tennis Association (ATA) with the approval of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF). According to an official of STA, Indus Pharma, a renowned pharmaceutical company will sponsor of this prestigious annual fixture of the PTF circuit. Juniors Under 18 Singles & Doubles, Girls Under 18 Singles & Doubles. Boys under 14 Singles & Doubles, , Girls 14 Singles & Doubles, Boys & Girls Under 12 Singles & Doubles , Boys & Girls Under 10 Singles & Doubles, Seniors , Seniors 35 Plus Doubles , 45 Plus Doubles , and Seniors 55 Plus Doubles disciplines will be part of the championships. Also, Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles and Wheelchair Men’s Singles events will be played for the local tennis lads. It is PTF Grade 2 national tournament. Last date of entry will be March 8, 2023. Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) National Junior Ranking Tennis Tournaments 2023 will commence from Tuesday (February 21, 2023) at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad. Players from all over Pakistan will participate in different age group categories. Ibrar Ahmad acting Director General PSB will grace the opening ceremony as chief guest along with former Davis Cupper Rashid Malik Secretary Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA), as the Shahzad Akhtar Alvi will supervise the event as tournament referee.  The competitions will be held in Boys 18 & Under Singles, Boys 18 & Under Doubles, Girls 18 & Under Singles, Boys 16 & Under Singles, Boys 14 & Under Singles, Boys 14 & Under Doubles, Boys / Girls 12 & Under Doubles, Boys / Girls 10 & Under Singles, Boys / Girls 8 & Under Singles, and Boys / Girls 6 & Under Singles age group categories.

ITF-3: Asif topples second seed Garreth Greene in straight sets 2-0
Sports Bulletin Report LONDON: Pakistan No. 1 wheelchair tennis player, Asif Gul Abbasi, caused a major upset at the ITF 3 Tennis Tournament after eliminating second seed Garreth Greene from Ireland in straight sets 2-0 at Bolton, United Kingdom (UK) on Saturday. Abbasi, who is currently ranked 285th in the world, displayed excellent skills of the game throughout the match by hitting number of winners, as he claimed the first set at 6-2 and did a determined comeback from Greene in the second set to win 7-6 (3). Asif Gul Abbasi said: “I'm really happy with how I played today. Greene is a great player and I knew it would be a tough match, but I just focused on playing my best and it worked out. I toiled hard on the court and did not show any complacency during the whole match". Abbasi will now face an Italian opponent in the quarterfinals of the tournament on Sunday at the same venue, and his strong showing in the first round will give him the confidence to move ahead in the international wheelchair tennis fixture. The ITF 3 tournament in Bolton is an important fixture in the wheelchair tennis calendar, and attracts some of the best players from around the world. Abbasi's triumph will no doubt raise worth of his profile in the field of sports, and could be a milestone for the talented Pakistani player.
