Nabeel Ali, Takuto Fuke, and Rayyan Khan register wins to move next roundSports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: The qualifying round of the ITF Pakistan Juniors Leg-1 Tennis Championships 2023 started here at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad on Saturday.A large number of junior tennis player boys and girls from, Pakistan, Turkey, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Japan, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Sri Lanka are participating in the championships. The opening ceremony and the main draw matches will be held on November 6 (Monday) at the same venue.President PTF Senator Salim Saifullah Khan, visited the PTF Complex, and witnessed some of the matches and interacted with the Pakistani and foreign players. He welcomed all the foreign players, coaches and their parents. ITF World Tennis Team Competition Asia-Oceania Final Qualifying
Pakistan book berth in World Group, Japan beat Pakistan 2-1 Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD: Japan toiled hard on the court to overcome Pakistan 2-1 in the final of the ITF World Tennis Junior Team Competition Asia-Oceania Final Qualifying in Kuching Malaysia. According to Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), in the first match, Abubakar Talha lost a closely fought match with the score-line of 3-6 and 5-7. In the second Singles, Hamza Roman exhibited top class game of tennis and ousted his challenger Motoharu Abe in straight sets in s single sided-affair at 6-2, 6-1 to square the match 1-1. In the deciding doubles, which produced exciting tennis, Abubakar and Hamza won the first set 6-4 and were ahead in the second set at 4-3. Two see-saw games saw the Japanese produced a quality tennis to take the set. The Japanese pair stepped up a notch in the deciding match-tiebreak and won 10-5 to seal the victory and lift the trophy. It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan had already qualified for the World Group by virtue of qualifying for the semi-finals. Under-14 team created history by reaching the World Group of the WJT team event, for the first time since 1996. It is a great achievement for the team, made up of Hamza Roman, Abubakar Talha, and Amir Mohammad Khan Mazari, ably led by Captain Heera Ashiq. Powerhouses like India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and others, failed to make it to the even the quarterfinals stage. In 1996, Pakistan team visited Japan comprised Nomi Qamar, the late Ejaz Ahmed, Shahzeb Niazi, and Rashid Ahmed Malik as the captain. Sixteen countries participated, including Australia, Japan, S.Korea, India, Iran, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Uzbekistan, Chinese Taipei, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Singapore, Indonesia and Pakistan. Pakistan finished second in their group after beating Iran and Indonesia, while losing to Japan. ITF World Junior: Pakistan beat Hong Kong 2-1 in semifinal
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: Pakistan outplayed Hong Kong 2-1 in the semifinal of the ongoing ITF World Tennis Junior Team Competition Asia / Oceania Final Qualifying in Kuching Malaysia. According to an official Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), Pakistan's Under-14 Junior team ousted Hong Kong 2-1 in the semifinal. Pakistan already qualified for the World Group after beating Australia in the quarterfinals, which will be held later this year in the Czech Republic. Green Shirts toppled Australian lads 2-1 in the quarterfinals Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: Pakistan claimed an upset victory in the ITF World Tennis Junior Team Competition Asia / Oceania Final Qualifying after beating high-ranked Australia 2-1 at Kuching Malaysia. According to an official of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), Pakistan caused a major upset by beating a strong Australian team 2-1 in the quarter-finals and has qualified for the World Group Event, which will be held later this year in the Czech Republic. Senator Salim Saifullah Khan President-PTF expressed his happiness and congratulated the team and captain for the historical victory against the strong Australian team. Tennis Federation names U-14 team for ITF Asian Juniors Championship
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has named a 2-member team namely Hamza Roman and Abubakar Talha to participate in finals of ITF Asia Under-14 Development Championships 2023, which will be held in Bhubaneshwar India from April 4-14, 2023. According to an official of PTF, the players were selected based on their exceptional performance in the ITF/ATF Under-14 Development Championships Regional Qualifying event for South Asia/South East Asia & East Asia Regional Qualifying event, which was recently held in Bangladesh. The boys won one single title out of two each and were finalists in the other, and they won both the doubles titles.

ITF Pakistan: Guryleva Vlada thrashes LEE Yejun 2-0 in final to lift title
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: Guryleva Vlada from Russia outclassed LEE Yejun from Korea 2-0 in the Girls’ Singles final of the ITF Pakistan, PPL Syed Dilawar Abbas Memorial World Junior Tennis Championship at Syed Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex Islamabad on Saturday. The final score-line was 6-2 and 6-2. In the first set, Vlada build up the winning lead 3-1 by breaking 1st and 3rd game of Lee then continued the winning pace till the score reached 4-2. Valada again played excellent tennis and break the 7th game of Lee 0-40 and then hold the 8th game to win the first set at 6-2. Meanwhile, in the second set, Valada again played aggressively and did not allow her opponent to settle down and took the lead 4-0 by breaking 1 & 3rd game of Lee in comfortable style. Lee struggles hard to reduce the lead 4-2 and then by breaking the 6th game of Vlada. In the 7th game, Valada did not allow her opponent and hit some excellent cross court short to advance the lead 5-2. In the 8th game Vlada comfortably won the game and match 6-2, 6-2. Both the players displayed excellent game of tennis which was appreciated and witnessed by tennis lovers. The match lasted 1 hour and was chaired by Shahzad Akhtar Alvi ITF White Badge Official. Islamabad Tennis Association organized this ITF Pakistan – PPL Syed Dilawar Abbas Memorial World Ranking Tennis tournament in the memory of Late Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas, who played vital role for promotion of the game of tennis in the country. He remained President/Patron of PTF, Lifetime Senior vice President of Asian Tennis Federation, and Hon. Lifetime Patron Islamabad Tennis Association, he was also member of ITF Constitutional Committee. As many as 46 boys and 17 girls from 12 countries Turkey, Korea, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, United Kingdom (UK), Poland, Romania, Russia, Canada, United States of America (USA) and host Pakistan participated in the  Championships. Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority and President Islamabad Tennis Association grace the occasion as chief guest and distributed the trophies among the winner and runner-up of boys singles. Ali G. Noon, CSS PPL, Major Rashid Khan Former Secretary PTF, M T Cheema SEVP ITA also witness the final and distributed the prizes with the chief guest.

ITF Pakistan: Vlada Guryleva pairing with Taira Abildayeva win Doubles title
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: The 2nd seed Vlada Guryleva from Russia pairing with Taira Abildayeva from Kazakhstan annexed the Girls’ Doubles title after a great struggle against Anastassiya KIM from Kazakhstan and Jinshu Xia from China in the final of the ITF Pakistan PPL-Syed Dilawar Abbas World Junior Tennis Championships at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad on Friday. The final score-line was 7-5 and 6-1. In the morning session, the 2nd Seed Cem Atlamis from Turkiye pairing with Mikhail Khodorchenko from Russia won the Boys’ Doubles title after beating Keith Jonathan from Malaysia and Jihwan Kim from Korea in straight sets 2-0. The final score-line was just 6-3 and 6-1. In the Boys’ Singles final, Yuan Lu from China outclassed Kamonpanyakom Thadpong from Thailand in a single sided contest 2-0. Yuan Lu played excellent game and exhibited high standard of game throughout the match and did not allow his opponent to settle down in the final. Yuan Lu won his final against Kamonpanyakom Thadpong in straight sets 6-2 and 6-4. In the Girls’ Doubles final, the 2nd seed Vlada Guryleva from Russia pairing with Taira Abildayeva from Kazakhstan annexed the title after a great struggle against Anastassiya KIM from Kazakhstan and Jinshu Xia from China. The final score-line was 7-5 and 6-1. In the first set Kim and Xia played aggressive and took the lead 3-0 by breaking 1st and 3rd game of Taira and Vlada but after losing the initial games Taira & Vlada changed their game plan to reduce the lead and level the 1st set at 5-5 games all. In the 12th game, Taira and Valda played excellent game and took the set at 7-5. In the second set Taira & Vlada did not allow their opponent to settle down and continue to maintain their winning pace to win the second set and match. Yerzhan Kistafin Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Pakistan was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony and Senator Nisar A. Memon was the guest of honor. The ceremony was also attended by Maria Memon, former MNA, Akhtar Nawaz former DG PSB, Azeem Shah Advisor to President PTF, Major Rashid Khan, Syed Mohammad Ali Murtaza, Ahsan Raza Zaidi and other family members of the Late Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas. Final of Girls Singles will be played on Saturday (February 18, 2023) at 1:30 pm at the same venue. ITF Pakistan: Yejun Lee and Vlada Guryleva set to meet in final
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: Yejun Lee from Korea and Vlada Guryleva from Russia qualified for the women’s singles final of the  ITF Pakistan PPL-Syed  Dilawar Abbas World Junior Tennis Championships after winning their respective semifinals here at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex on Thursday. Today was the day of upsets. A major upset was made when 4th Seed Vlada Guryleva of Russia beat top seed Zeynep Erbakan of Turkey in a thrilling three-set match 1-6, 6-2, 7-5. In the second semifinal, unseeded Yejun Lee of Korea won her encounter and beat 3rd seed Defne Erbakan of Turkey 6-1, 6-0 and qualified for the Girls singles final. In the Boys Singles 1st semi-final; unseeded Yuan Lu of China qualified for the final when he defeated his opponent 2nd seed Cem Atlamis of Turkey who left the match due to a health issue. ITF Pakistan Junior Tennis: All foreign players reach in semifinals
Mohammad Khalil Ahmed ISLAMABAD: All four overseas tennis lads, Cem Atlamis (TUR), Yuan Lu (CHN), Bugra Ozkoc (TUR) and Kamonpanyakorn Thadpong (THA), moved into the semifinals of the ongoing ITF Pakistan PPL-Syed  Dilawar Abbas World Junior Tennis Championships after defeating their rivals in men’s singles at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad on Wednesday. Yerzhan Kistafin Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan and to Pakistan visited PTF Complex today to witness some of the matches. He appreciated the high standard of tennis and also interacted with players and parents from his home country Kazakhstan and other countries. The PTF extends its gratitude to Ambassador for his regular visits to PTF Complex to witness such international and national events.
