Tenacious Polo Cup: FG/Din Polo win trophy
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: FG/Din Polo Team edged out Master Paints by a narrow 7-6 margin to win the Tenacious Polo Cup sponsored by Gobi's Paints that concluded here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Sunday. Lt Col Omer Minhas (R) emerged as hero of the final as he led the team in great style and not only displayed high quality polo skills and techniques but also contributed with fabulous four goals in his team's title triumph. Sheikh Muhammad Raffay and Sheikh Muhammad Farhad also played equally well and converted two and one goal respectively. From Master Paints, Manuel Carranza was in superb form and slammed in five fantastic goals while Sufi Mohammad Haroon converted one goal but their efforts couldn't bear fruit for their side as they lost the final by a narrow margin of 6-7. The subsidiary final was won by Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steels, who overwhelmed Rijas Polo/ZS by a huge margin of 11-6.5. Mohammad Matloob Aizad was in sublime form and thrashed in fabulous four goals from the winning team. Mir Huzaifa Ahmed and Nico Antinori hammered a hat-trick each and Omer Elahi scored one goal. From the losing side, which had one and a half goal handicap advantage, Omar Asjad Malhi thrashed in three goals while Zoraiz Shahzad and Mohib Shahzad converted one goal apiece. GOC 11 Div Maj Gen Malik Amir Mohammad Khan, along with Gobi's Paints CEO, Umar Asif Malik, distributed prizes among the winners and top performers. Other notables present on the occasion were JPF President Lt Col Shoaib Aftab (R), Secretary Maj Baber Mehboob Awan, players, their families and polo enthusiasts.

Tenacious Polo Cup: Gobis Paints: Master Paints, FG/Din reach in final
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Master Paints and FG/Din Polo qualified for the main final of the Tenacious Polo Cup sponsored by Gobi's Paints after winning their respective matches played here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Friday. While Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steels and Rijas Polo/ZS made their ways into the subsidiary finals. The enthralling and exciting matches were witnessed and enjoyed by JPF officials, players and their families and polo enthusiasts. In the first match of the day, Manuel Carranza's heroics helped Master Paints outclass Rijas Polo/ZS by a good margin of 10-6.5. Manuel Carranza did the magic with his mallet and polo pony and contributed excellent eight goals from the winning side. The remaining two goals from Master Paints were converted by Sufi Mohammad Amir and Sufi Mohammad Hashim - one goal each. From Rijas Polo/ZS, which had one and a half goal handicap advantage, Ahmed Zubair Butt hammered a hat-trick of goals while Mohib Shahzad and Ahmed Bilal Riaz converted one goal apiece. The second match of the day also proved a one-sided affair where FG/Din Polo Team prevailed over Remington Polo/Guard Group with a big margin of 8-3. FG/Din Polo dominated the match right from the word go and didn't allow their opponents play freely, thus winning the crucial encounter by 8-3 to earn a place in the main final. Mian Abbas Mukhtar emerged as a hero of the day from the winning team as he not only shone with his mallet and pony but also succeeded in converting fabulous four goals. His teammates Sheikh Mohammad Raffay and Sheikh Mohammad Farhad also played superb polo and thrashed in two goals each. From Remington/Guard Group, Saqib Khan Khakwani banged in a beautiful brace and Taimur Ali Malik slammed in one goal but their contributions were too low to guide their side a victory.

Tenacious Polo Cup: Rijas Polo/ZS and FG/Din Polo win openers
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Rijas Polo/ZS and FG/Din Polo have won their opening day matches of the Tenacious Polo Cup 2022 that started here at the Jinnah Polo Fields (JPF) on Tuesday.  In the first match of the day, Rijas Polo/ZS played well against Haji Sons polo team and defeated them by 8½-6 goals. Mohib Shahzad, the rising youngster from Rijas Polo/ZS, was in sublime form and displayed high goals while he was ably assisted by entire teammates especially Ahmad Zubair Butt, who slammed in a hat-trick of goals while the team had a one-and-a-half goal handicap advantage. Mumtaz Abbas Niazi hammered four goals and Omer Asjad Malhi scored two goals from Haji Sons. Later, the second match of the day proved a one-sided affair, where FG/Din Polo team showed no mercy against Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel and thrashed them by a huge margin of 11-3½. Mian Abbas Mukhtar and Lt Col (R) Omer Minhas emerged as hero of the match from the winning side as both the polo men fired in four fabulous goals each while while Sheikh Mohammad Raffay contributed with a beautiful brace and Sheikh Mohammad Farhad converted one goal. The matches of the Tenacious Polio Cup 2022 – the first tournament of JPF polo season 2022-23 – was witnessed by a good number of families and players while Jinnah Polo Fields President Lt Col (R) Shoaib Aftab, Secretary Maj (R) Baber Mehboob Awan and others.

Polo players arrive in Lahore after South Africa trip
SPORTS REPORT Lahore:-Pakistan polo players were warmly welcomed here at Allama Iqbal International Airport on their return from Johannesburg, South Africa after beating India twice to qualify for the XII FIP Polo World Cup. At the airport, Pakistan Polo Association Officials and polo lovers were present to greet the national polo team that comprised of Brig (R) Badar Zaman, PPA Secretary Lt Col Ayaz Ahmed, Lt Col (R) Omer Minhas, Hamza Mawaz Khan, Ahmed Ali Tiwana, Raja Jalal Arslan, Imran Shahid and Shahzad Ahmed. Two members of the team Raja Samiullah and Raja Mikayel Sami landed at Islamabad Airport while another player Temur Nadeem went straight to UK from South Africa. As per information provided by Secretary PPA Lt Col Ayaz Ahmed, the Pakistan team is a mix of experienced and young players who played aggressively against arch-rivals India and dominated both the matches winning first match by 5-4 and second by 7-3 to qualify for the XII FIP Polo World Championship that will be played in USA in October and November

Pakistan polo team to meet India on September 9 in South Africa
Sports Bulletin Report Johannesburg (South Africa):-Pakistan's national polo team will take on arch-rival India on September 9, 2022 at in the Zone E World Cup playoffs at Johannesburg South Africa. According to an official of Pakistan Polo Federation (PPF), the matches of the Federation of International Polo (FIP) World Cup Zone E will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, where Pakistan team will play against arch-rivals India. Pakistan will have horse trials at the East Rand Polo Club on September 7, while practice Chukkers will be played on September 8. The national polo team will play its match against India at the Inanda Polo Club on September 9, while the second match will be played at the East Rand Polo Club on September 11.  Captain Raja Samiullah said: “Pakistan Polo Association (PPA) has worked very hard on the team. On behalf of the entire team, he expressed special thanks to PPA Chairman Lt. Gen. Azhar Saleh Abbasi and Secretary Lt. Col. Ayaz Ahmed, thanks to whose hard work, Pakistan polo team reached Johannesburg to play the match against India”.  “Raja Taimur Nadeem and Ahmed Ali Tiwana, will come from England to join the team at Johannesburg. “Hopefully, it will be a good match against India and the team will try to give their best against our neighbours and try to win the crucial match. We need prayers from the entire nation for our good show against the arch-rivals.” “Under-20 players Raja Mikayel and Raja Jalal Arsalan are also participating in the team and their presence is a very welcome thing for the future of polo in Pakistan. “Apart from this, three reserves players Lt Col (R) Omar Minhas, Imran Shahid and Shehzad Ahmed will also accompany the team. We expect good polo matches and hopefully, Pakistan team will try to win the crucial match.” Pakistan Squad: Four-goaler Raja Sami Ullah-led national team which includes Hamza Mohammad Mawaz Khan (four-goaler), Ahmed Ali Tiwana (three-goaler), Raja Taimur Nadeem (three-goaler), Raja Mikayel Sami (three-goaler) and Raja Jalal Arsalan (three-goaler) while Brig (R) Badar Zaman is the team manager.

BN Team lift the title of Islamabad Gladiators Polo Trophy
Sports Reporter ISLAMABAD:-Islamabad: Team BN Polo clinched the title of the Islamabad Gladiators Polo Trophy 2022 after outlasting Kalabagh / Shahtaj by 7-3 in the main final played here at the Islamabad Club Polo Ground on Sunday. Foreign player Eulogio emerged as hero of the final as he was in great form and exhibited excellent mallet and horse work and contributed with fabulous four goals while he was ably assisted and supported by his teammates as the entire team played with unity and their team work steered them to a title triumph. The other key contributors from the winning side were Ahmed Ali Tiwana and Baber Naseem, who converted two and one goal respectively. Team Kalabagh / Shahtaj, which played superbly throughout the tournament and recorded very convincing victories before reaching the main final, couldn't resist the pace and venom of Team BN Polo, losing the main final by 3-7. Foreign player Guy Gibrat succeeded in converting two goals while the remaining one was slammed in by Asfandyar Khan. Speaking on the occasion, player of the final Eulogio said: "Our team worked really hard and played like a unit that helped us win the final and prestigious title. Last week, we played the subsidiary final and won it. We are committed to continue our good show in upcoming events and try to win more for our team. I am also very pleased to come and play at Islamabad Club Polo Ground, which is one of the best polo grounds of the world."

Gladiators Trophy: Team Asean beat PAF / Jubilee Insurance 7-6 in Subsidiary final
Sports Reporter ISLAMABAD:-Team Asean edged out PAF/Jubilee Life Insurance by a narrow margin of 7-6 to win the subsidiary final of the Islamabad Gladiators Polo Trophy 2022 here at the Islamabad Club Polo Ground on Saturday. The thrilling match saw both the teams, Asean and PAF/Jubilee Life Insurance, matching fire-with-fire till the end and when the final whistle after the fourth chukker was blown, the match was tied at 6-6. It was then decided in the fifth (sudden death) chukker, where Haider Asad hammered the match-winning goal to steer Team Asean to a nail-biting 7-6 victory.  With his significant contribution of three tremendous goals, Haider Asad emerged as hero of the match. He was superb with mallet and polo pony and kept on attacking the opponents’ goals that helped him shine and thrash in three goals. His teammates Bauti Fenell and Raja Jalal Arslan also played out their hearts and banged in a brace each.  The players of PAF/Jubilee Life Insurance also gave tough competition to the winning side as all of them showed their class throughout the crucial match and succeeded in converting superb six goals. Hamza Mawaz Khan was in sublime form as he fired in four fantastic goals while sensational Syed Aun Muhammad Rizvi thrashed in two goals but their excellent efforts were futile as they couldn’t finish the match well in the sudden death chukker, thus losing the subsidiary final by just a one-goal margin of 6-7.  On Sunday, the main final of the Islamabad Gladiators Polo Trophy 2022 will be played between Team BN Polo and Kalabagh/Shahtaj at 4:30 pm. Team BN Polo consists of Haider Naseem, Baber Naseem, Ahmed Ali Tiwana and Eulogio while Team Kalabagh/Shahtaj includes Sheikh Adil Waheed, Asfandyar Khan, Raja Temur Nadeem and Guy Gibrat.

Islamabad Gladiators Polo Trophy 2022: BN Polo qualify for main final
Sports Reporter ISLAMABAD:-Team BN Polo have qualified for the main final of the Islamabad Gladiators Polo Trophy 2022 after outsmarting Kalabagh by 12-4 in a match played here at the Islamabad Club Polo Ground on Friday. Now the main final will be contested on Sunday and Team BN Polo will clash against Kalabagh/Shahtaj for the main title while the subsidiary final will be played tomorrow (Saturday) between Team Asean and PAF/Jubilee Life Insurance at the Islamabad Club Polo Ground.  On Friday, the crucial match was played between Team BN Polo and Team Kalabagh, which proved a one-sided affair as the former dominated the entire match and didn’t allow their opponents to score more goals, thus winning the encounter with a good margin of 12-4.  Foreign player Eulogio played key role in BN Polo’s triumph as he showed his class and level throughout the match and amused the spectators with his excellent mallet and pony work and hammered superb seven goals. His teammates Baber Naseem and Ahmed Ali Tiwana also did magic with mallet and contributed with two tremendous goals while Haider Naseem also converted one for the winning side.  Team Kalabagh also displayed quality polo but they couldn’t match the pace and venom of Team BN Polo and conceded so many goals, thus losing the encounter with a huge margin of 4-12. Maisam Baloch and Malik Salaar were the only players from the losing side, who converted one goal each while they also had two goals handicap advantage.  The enthralling and exciting match was witnessed and enjoyed by a good number of polo lovers, Islamabad Club officials, polo players and their families. Now the subsidiary final and main final will be played on Saturday (April 16) and Sunday (April 17) that will surely be very tough and challenging ones and the team, which will play better play on the given day, succeed in earning the honours.

Islamabad Gladiators Polo Trophy 2022: Kalabagh / Shahtaj reach in main final
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-Kalabagh/Shahtaj qualified for the main final of the Islamabad Gladiators Polo Trophy 2022 after thumping Asean by 9-3 here at the Islamabad Club Polo Ground on Thursday. Guy Gibrat of Argentina showed his class and skills to emerge as the best player of the match. He was excellent with mallet and polo pony and kept on playing superb polo till the final whistle. His sparkling contribution included five fantastic goals while Raja Temur Nadeem also played well and banged in a beautiful brace and one goal each was converted by Asfandyar Khan and Adil Waheed. The losing side couldn't resist well the perfect attack of Team Kalabagh/Shahtaj and kept on conceding goals one after another and by the end of the match, they lost it by a huge margin of 3-9. The only contribution from the losing team came from Haider Asad and Bauti Fenell, who slammed in two and one goal respectively. Team Kalabagh/Shahtaj were off to a flying start as they thrashed in three back-to-back goals to gain a healthy 3-0 lead. Just before the end of the first chukker, Team Asean also made their presence felt and struck their first goal to make it 1-3. The second chukker saw both the sides scoring one goal apiece, thus Kalabagh/Shahtaj still enjoying 4-2 lead. The third chukker was fully dominated by Kalabagh/Shahtaj as they played with better game plan and authoritative manner that helped them fire in fabulous four goals and gain an unassailable 8-2 lead. The fourth and last chukker was identical to the second one as both the teams converted one goal each with Kalabagh/Shahtaj emerging as triumphant with 9-3 margin.

Islamabad Gladiators Trophy 2022: PAF / Jubilee Life Insurance, Asean earn victories
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-Two more matches decided in the Islamabad Gladiators Trophy 2022 and after tough contests, Teams PAF / Jubilee Life Insurance and Asean emerged victorious here at the Islamabad Club Polo Ground on Wednesday. The first match of the day saw dominance of PAF/Jubilee Life Insurance, who overwhelmed Kalabagh by a huge margin of 10-4. PAF/Jubilee Life Insurance stamped their authority right from the word go and kept on launching attacks on Kalabagh's goal and succeeded ten times while conceding only four goals. Their strategy and game plan were the key things behind their mammoth victory over their opponents. The hero behind the success was high-flying Hamza Mawaz Khan, who amused the spectators with his superb game and mallet as well as horse work. He kept on scoring for the winning side till the final whistle, thus managing to convert sparkling seven goals. His teammates phenomenal Syed Aun Mohammad Rizvi and Malik Shamsher also played key role in the team's triumph by converting two and one goal respectively. The losing side, Kalabagh, couldn't settle down after a series of attacked from their opponents, thus kept on conceding goals, taking the tally to 10 goals. Even though, some efforts were visible from the losing side that gave their total tally some respect, as Ibrahim Khalil and Abdullah Ijaz scored one goal each for Kalabagh, they had also two goals handicap advantage. The second match of the day was a closely-contested encounter, where both teams Asean and The Guards gave each other tough time before Asean winning the match by 8-5.5.  The heroes from the winning team, Asean, were Bauti Fenell and Raja Jalal Arslan as both did magic with their mallets and polo ponies and hammered a hat-trick each. Hashim Asad also played key role in Asean's victory by banging in a beautiful brace. The Guards' players also tried hard to finish the encounter as triumphant but their efforts couldn't bear fruit as they lost it by a close margin of 5.5-8. Mumtaz Abbas Niazi was the top scorer from the losing team as he thrashed in three goals while Saqib Raheem converted the remaining two goals for The Guards, which had also a half goal handicap advantage.
