Lahore Smart City qualify for main final of LSC Polo in Pink Tournament
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE (October 26, 2023): Lahore Smart City qualified for the main final while FG Polo team earned a place in the subsidiary final of the Lahore Smart City Polo in Pink Tournament 2023 being played here at the Lahore Polo Club.In a thrilling contest, Lahore Smart City clinched their main final berth with a last-minute 4-3½ victory over Remington Pharma. Agha Musa Ali Khan was the star player for Lahore Smart City, showcasing his skills with four spectacular goals. Hamza Mawaz Khan, representing Remington Pharma with a half-goal handicap advantage, displayed an impressive performance by scoring three goals.The second match of the day saw Rijas Polo defeating Platinum Homes with a score of 5-4½. Ahmed Bilal Riaz contributed significantly with three goals for Rijas Polo, while Maj Adil Sultan Rao added two goals to their tally. On the other side, Malik Atif Yar Tiwana of Platinum Homes, with a one and a half goal handicap, displayed a strong performance by scoring three goals.In the third match, Guard Group dominated Team Barry's with an impressive 11-2½ victory. Taimur Ali Malik and Chaudhry Hayat Mehmood led the way for Guard Group, each scoring five goals, while Dominique Theones contributed one goal. Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana scored both of Team Barry's goals.The path to the finals began with two round-robin matches, ultimately granting FG Polo a spot in the subsidiary finals. FG Polo defeated Diamond Paints 3½-2, and Diamond Paints managed to beat ZS Polo 5-4½. In the final round-robin match, ZS Polo secured a 4½-4 draw against FG Polo, but FG Polo advanced to the subsidiary finals due to a better goal average.

Lahore Smart City Polo in Pink Tournament: Day 3 decides 4 matches
ZS Polo, Lahore Smart City, DS Polo Sheikhoo Steel, and Pebble Breaker register winsSports Bulletin ReportLAHORE (October 25, 2023): The Lahore Smart City Polo in Pink Tournament 2023, organized by the Lahore Polo Club, saw four action-packed matches on its third day, as ZS Polo, Lahore Smart City, DS Polo Sheikhoo Steel, and Pebble Breaker registered wins.In the first match of the day, ZS Polo outperformed the Noorpur Bandobast team with a score of 11½-4. With a handicap advantage of one and a half goals, Lt Col (retd) Omer Minhas and Zuraiz Shahzad made significant contributions by scoring three goals each. Bilal Hayat Noon and Phillipa Henry added a brace each to their team's tally. For the Noorpur Bandobast team, Charlotte Amy managed to score three goals, while Taimur Hayat Noon contributed one goal.The second match of the day was an exhilarating contest, with Lahore Smart City narrowly defeating the Master Paints team by a score of 6-5½. Mumtaz Abbas Niazi and Agha Musa Ali Khan from Lahore Smart City scored hat-tricks each, while Raja Temur Nadeem (three goals) and Sufi Haroon (one goal) were standout performers for the Master Paints team, which held a handicap advantage of one and a half goals.In the third match, DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel faced off against Black Horse Paints. After a fierce competition, DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel emerged victorious with a score of 7-5½. Omar Asjad Malhi was the star of the match, scoring all seven goals for his team. Black Horse Paints, with a handicap advantage of one and a half goals, saw contributions from Sofia Dean Ali Khan, Chaudhry Hassan Mansoor, Ahsan Javed Sher, and Abu Bakar Siddique, with each player scoring one goal.The day concluded with the fourth match, in which Pebble Breaker overcame Newage Cables with a final score of 7-5. Bilal Haye shone as the top scorer for Pebble Breaker, netting four remarkable goals, while Ahmed Ali Tawana scored the remaining three. For Newage Cables, Shah Shamyl Alam converted three goals, and Alman Jalil Azam struck the remaining two goals.

Team Remington Pharma Stars win LPC Super League 2023
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Team Remington Pharma Stars have won the title of Lahore Polo Club (LPC) Super League 2023 after defeating FG/Din Polo Warriors by 9-4 in the final played here at the Lahore Polo Club on Sunday.  Hamza Mawaz Khan's outstanding performance helped team Remington Pharma Stars win the final by 9-4 against FG/Din Polo Warriors. Hamza, hero of the final, hammered six superb goals for Remington Stars while Ahmed Zubair Butt contributed with two goals and emerging young player Basel Faisal Khokhar struck one goal. Sheikh Mohammad Raffay scored three goals and Bilal Hayat Noon scored one goal for FG/Din Polo.  Speaking on the occasion, Basel Faisal Khokhar of Remington Pharma Stars said: "The 2022-23 season has been very good for Remington Pharma. I have won three eight-goal tournaments and an Under-19 event and now clinched the LPC Super League title. All this is the result of the prayers of my parents and the hard work of the team.” Earlier in the subsidiary final, Pebble Breakers defeated Master Paints/Diamond Paints by a narrow margin of 5-4½. The Super League awards were also distributed during the prize distribution ceremony. The best mare of the match was awarded to Remington Pharma Director Dr. Faisal Khokhar's mare Ice. The most valuable player award was handed over to Hamza Mawaz Khan, who also earned the award for scoring the most goals in the tournament. The amateur player of the league award was claimed by Basel Faisal Khokhar. The patron of the league award was given to Din Polo's Sheikh Mohammad Farhad while the fair play award was given to Ibrahim Sultan. Former polo player Maj (Rtd) Javed Mawaz was the chief guest on this occasion and gave away winning trophy to team Remington Pharma Stars. Other notables present on the occasion were Lahore Polo Club President Umar Sadiq, executive committee members and a large number of polo players, who witnessed and enjoyed the enthralling final of the Super League.

Century 99 Punjab Polo Cup to get underway from February 6
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE:-The historic Century 99 Punjab Polo Cup 2023 will get underway from Monday (February 6) here at the Lahore Polo Club.  President Lahore Polo Club Umar Sadiq announced this along with Directors of Century Ventures Private Limited, Ayaz Lakhani, Kamran Afzal, Wasim Mazhar and Nazia Wasim, Lahore Polo Club executive committee members Agha Murtaza Ali Khan and Agha Najeeb Raza during a crowded press conference held here at the club premises.  On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between Lahore Polo Club and Century Ventures while the unveiling ceremony of Punjab Cup and National Open trophies was also held. For the first time in the history of Lahore Polo Club, Century Ventures has sponsored the historic Punjab Polo Cup and National Open Polo Championship for the Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup. President Lahore Polo Club Umar Sadiq said that the history of Punjab Polo Cup, the oldest event in Asia, is more than a century old. “As one of the world’s oldest polo clubs, Lahore Polo Club relishes the prestigious history of playing the game of kings.  “The Punjab polo trophy happens to be the oldest polo trophy being played for in Pakistan having been introduced in 1886. Ever since, this tournament has always been played at the world’s famous Aibak ground of Lahore Polo Club,” he added.  LPC Chief Omar Sadiq also thanked Century Ventures for sponsoring this historic tournament. “I am grateful to Century Ventures and especially its Directors Ayaz Lakhani, Kamran Afzal, Wasim Mazhar and Nazia Wasim, for supporting the game of kings and knights.”   Ayaz Lakhani, Director of the sponsoring organization Century Ventures, said that it was great to sponsor such a wonderful event in a historic club like Lahore Polo Club. Wasim Mazhar, Director Century Ventures, said: "We have been appreciating the role of Lahore Polo Club for years and today we are a part of supporting the game, which is a matter of great pleasure."  Lahore Polo Club Executive Committee member Agha Murtaza Ali Khan said that six to eight teams are participating in the tournament while two foreign players are also included in each team, in which players from Argentina, Iran, England and Spain will take part. The umpires will also be foreigners, one of them is from England and the other one from Argentina.  The tournament will commence from February 6 and the final will be played on Sunday (February 12), while Pakistan's biggest polo event, the National Open Polo Championship for the Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup, will kick off from March 6, he asserted.

Remington JPF win Under-19 Junior Polo Championship
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Remington JPF won the U-19 Junior Polo Championship 2023 title for the third time in a row after thumping Team Raptors by 7-4 in the final played here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Saturday. Rising polo player Basel Faisal Khokhar performed exceptionally well from the winning side and smashed in five fabulous goals while Ibrahim Sultan and Faris Nuruddin contributed with one goal each. For Team Raptors, Ibrahim Ali hammered a hat-trick of goals while Mustafa Fahad converted one goal for Team Raptors. Speaking to the media at the closing ceremony, Captain Remington JPF Basel Faisal Khokhar said: “My parents have given me the opportunity to play polo at every level due to which I have won this honor and the title. I am very delighted and excited with this title victory and I am eager to win more titles.” The U-19 Junior Polo Championship, which is a calendar event of the Pakistan Polo Association (PPA), was participated by three teams out of which Raptors and Remington JPF qualified for the finals. President of Jinnah Polo Fields Lt Col Shoaib Aftab (R), Secretary JPF Major Ali Taimur (R), former polo legend Irfan Ali Hyder were the special guests and distributed prizes among the winners.

Allama Iqbal Polo: Remington Pharma, Diamond Paints win openers
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Remington Pharma and Diamond Paints win the opening day matches of the 3rd Allama Iqbal Polo Tournament sponsored by Lahore Smart City here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Tuesday. The first match of the day proved a one-sided affair, where Remington Pharma outclassed BN Polo by 10-2½. Hamza Mawaz Khan played the hero’s role in his team’s triumph with a phenomenal contribution of eight excellent goals while Basel Faisal Khokhar and Ahmad Bilal Riaz struck one goal each. From BN Polo, which had a half goal handicap advantage, Baber Naseem and Haider Naseem converted one goal each.  Remington Pharma were off to a flying start as they banged in a brace to gain 2-0 lead but BN Polo struck one to reduce it to 2-1 but in the dying moments of the first chukker, Remington Pharma converted one more to stretch their lead to 3-1. The second and third chukker was fully dominated by Remington Pharma as they slammed in two and three goals respectively in both the chukkers. The last chukker saw both the sides scoring one goal each with Remington Pharma emerging as winners by 10-2½. John Fisher and Ahmad Khan officiated the match as field umpires.  The second encounter proved a thrilling one as Diamond Paints defeated Inara Polo/Black Horse Paints by a narrow margin of 4-3. Nico Roberts was the hero of the day from the winning team as he thrashed in three tremendous goals while the remaining one came from Bilal Hayat Noon. From Inara Polo/Black Horse Paints, Hissam Ali Hyder smashed in all the three goals.  Inara Polo/Black Horse Paints started the match well by firing in a field goal and converted one more in the beginning of the third chukker as no goal was scored in the second chukker. Diamond Paints then made their presence felt and dominated the third chukker with three back-to-back goals to gain a slight 3-2 lead. The decisive fourth chukker saw both the teams scoring one goal apiece, thus Diamond Paints emerging as winners with a close margin of 4-3. John Fisher and Raja Jalal Arslan supervised the match as field umpires.

Saeed-uz-Zaman Janjua Memorial Polo Cup: Remington Pharma lift title
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Remington Pharma edged past Platinum Homes/Master Paints by 7-6 in the Maj Gen Saeed-uz-Zaman Janjua Memorial Polo Cup 2023 sponsored by JS Bank main final played here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Sunday.  The main final match between Remington Pharma and Platinum Homes/Master Paints proved an enthralling and exciting encounter. Both the sides gave tough time to each other till the third chukker, where Remington Pharma played better polo and excelled with both mallet and polo ponies to take a slight lead, which remained intact till the final whistle. The losing side though tried hard and also managed to score one goal in the last chukker but their efforts couldn’t bear fruit. From Remington Pharma, Hamza Mawaz Khan emerged as hero as he hammered an impressive hat-trick of goals and he was ably assisted by his teammates Ahmed Bilal Riaz (two goals) and Ahmed Zubair Butt and Basel Faisal Khokhar (one goal each). From Platinum Homes/Master Paints, Iranian player Aamirreza Behboudi fired in fabulous five goals and Sufi Mohammad Haroon struck one goal but their contribution proved too little too late as they lost the final by a narrow margin of 6-7. Earlier in the subsidiary final, Team FG/Din Polo won defeated Team Black Horse Paints by 9½-7.  At the prize distribution ceremony, former Army Chief General Jahangir Karamat (R), former Corps Commander Lahore Lt Gen Aamir Riaz (R), were the special guests and distributed prizes among the winners and top performers. Other notables present on the occasion were Brig Badr-uz-Zaman (R), JS Bank Regional Head Majid Qureshi, Club President Lt Col Shoaib Aftab (R), singer Adeel Barki, polo players, their families and a large number of people from different walks of life.  Talking to the media after the match, former Army General Jahangir Karamat said: "The exciting final of this prestigious polo tournament at the Jinnah Polo Fields shows the level of Pakistan polo, which is increasing rapidly and also shows the interest of the fans that there is a lot of life in this game.” Brig Badr-ul-Zaman (r) son of General Saeed-ul-Zaman said: "I am very happy with the way the teams and people participated in the tournament organized in memory of my father.” Basel Faisal Khokhar from the winning team said: “It is a great pleasure to win the second eight-goal tournament of the season. We are well prepared to win more titles in this season.”

Saeed-uz-Zaman Memorial: Platinum Homes/MP, Remington Pharma in final
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Platinum Homes/Master Paints and Remington Pharma qualified for the main final of the Major General Saeed-uz-Zaman Janjua Memorial Polo Cup 2023 sponsored by JS Bank after winning their respective matches here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Friday. Three matches were decided and after tough contests, Black Horse Paints, Platinum Homes/Master Paints and Remington Pharma emerged as winners on Friday.  In the first semifinal, Platinum Homes/Master Paints edged past Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel by a close margin of 9-8. For Platinum Homes/Master Paints, Amirreza Behboudi played superb polo and fired in fabulous four goals while Qadeer Ashfaq and Sufi Mohammad Haroon banged in a brace each and Agha Musa Ali Khan struck one goal. Nico Roberts, though played well for Diamond Paints/Nagina Group and smashed in superb six goals, and Lt Col Omer Minhas (R) hit two goals, but their efforts couldn’t yield fruit for their side, which lost the crucial match by 8-9. Raja Mikaeel Sami and Ahmad Bilal Riaz supervised the match as field umpires. The second semifinal saw Remington Pharma defeating FG/Din Polo Team by 5-3½. From Pindi Express, which had a half goal handicap advantage, Raja Mikaeel Sami hammered a hat-trick and Nazar Dean Ali Khan struck one. Amirreza Behboudi and Raja Jalal Arslan were the field umpires. A good number of players and families were present at the ground to enjoy the polo matches in the cold weather. Saeed-ul-Zaman Janjua Memorial Polo Cup: FG/Din Polo victorious
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE (January 19, 2023): FG/Din Polo team outpaced BN Polo team by 9-4 in the only match on the third day of the Maj Gen Saeed-ul-Zaman Janjua Memorial Polo Cup 2023 here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Thursday.  From FG/Din Polo, both brothers Sheikh Mohammad Farhad and Sheikh Mohammad Raffay thrashed in three tremendous goals each while Shah Shamyl Alam and Raja Jalal Arsalan converted one goal each. Raja Samiullah did play well for the BN Polo team and hammered a hat-trick of goals while Haider Naseem scored one goal.  FG/Din Polo dominated the match right from the word go as they converted one goal in the first chukker while fired in four fabulous goals in the second chukker to take a healthy 5-0 lead. BN Polo though made their presence felt in the third chukker by scoring one goal yet FG/Din Polo made a good come back and banged in two back-to-back goals to stretch their lead to 7-1.  The highly-charged fourth and last chukker saw BN Polo converting a hat-trick of goals against a brace by FG/Din Polo, who won the match by 9-4. Amirreza Behboudi and Ahmad Bilal Riaz supervised the match as field umpires.  A large number of polo enthusiasts including sponsors JS Bank, players and their families and JPF officials were present to watch the match of the eight-goal tournament organized in the memory of Major General Saeed-ul-Zaman Janjua. JS Bank Regional Head Majid Qureshi, Team Leader Zubair Ehsan Khan and Kashif Butt, JPF President Lt Col Shoaib Aftab (R) and others witnessed and enjoyed the match.  On Friday, three matches will be played. Black Horse Paints will take on Pindi Express at 12:00 pm, Platinum Homes/Master Paints will compete Diamond Paints/Nagina Group at 2:00 pm and FG/Din Polo will play against Remington Pharma at 3:00 pm.

Hamza Mawaz Khan from Remington Pharma played brilliantly and scored five fabulous goals while Ahmed Zubair Butt banged in a beautiful brace. Haider Naseem played well for BN Polo team by converting two tremendous goals.   Remington Pharma dominated the match right from the word go as they hammered a hat-trick in the first chukker against one goal by BN Polo to gain a 3-1 lead. Remington Pharma maintained their supremacy in the second and third chukkers and smashed in three and one goal respectively to enhance their lead to 7-1. The only goal of the fourth chukker was scored by BN Polo but Remington won the encounter 7-2.  Majid Qureshi, Regional Head JS Bank, was the chief guest on the first day of the eight-goal event.
