SPORTS BULLETIN Islamabad:-National Taekwondo team has left for Nepal to take part in the 3rd Mount Everest International Open Taekwondo Championship (G-2) scheduled to be held from Sept 21 to October 2 in Pokhara city, Nepal. According to an official of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), Green Shirts will participate in the different categories of Khyurogi and Poomsae events of the championship. Team members for the Khyurogi event are Abu Bakar Siddique, Mohammad Arbaz Khan, Mazhar Abbas, Hamza Omar Saeed, Haroon Khan, Shahzaib Khan, Fatimatuz Zahara Khawar, Naqsh Hamdani and Noor Rehman while Poomsae Squad consists of Shahbaz Ahmed, Mohammad Waseem Javed, Wajeeh Ul Hassan, Naila, Mehrunnisa and Flower Zaheer. Korean Kukkiwon coach Master Seongoh Choi of Korea is the head coach of the Poomsae squad while former Iranian champion Yousef Karami is the chief coach of the Khyurogi squad. Hawas Khan is accompanying the squad as team Manager while Faisal Nadeem Butt is the trainer. Earlier, the members of the Pakistan squad met with Director General of Pakistan Sports Board Col (retd) Asif Zaman. On the occasion, the DG PSB expressed the hope that the team would do extremely well in Nepal and return home triumphantly. President PTF Lt Col (retd) Waseem Janjua said: “A 15-day training camp was organized in the collaboration with PSB to enhance the skills of the participants and it will continue till the Combaxx Asian Open Championship to be held in Islamabad in November to improve their skills and improve their techniques. PTF’s CEO Omar Saeed said: “Federation left no stone unturned to provide the best training opportunities and facilities to the athletes to prepare for this event and hoped they will fare well and win laurels for the country. The players have worked hard and attained strenuous training sessions ahead of this event and are hundred percent fit both mentally and physically due to which they will be able to make it to the victory podium.

Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-If there are top seeds in the cadets, as is the case with the juniors and seniors, it is also no less true that things are more open in this age category because each competitor, as strong as she is, is still perfectible. It is therefore not so surprising that it was two competitors who were not among the top seeds who qualified for the final of the first category of the 2022 edition of the World Cadet Championships: Anastasiia Superson (UKR) and Begumnaz Dogruyol (TUR). Turkish women, particularly successful two weeks ago in Ecuador, on the occasion of the Junior World Championships, again present among the best in Sarajevo. The coming years promise to be golden for Türkiye. At this little game, Superson was a more precise, literally hunting for a good ne-waza sequence, probably inspired by her compatriot, double world champion and Olympic medallist, Daria Bilodid. In the first match for a bronze medal, Laziza Haydarova (UZB), the number 1 seed, and Tatricia Tomankova (SVK) faced each other. After four minutes and a virgin scoreline with nothing on the board but a penalty, Haydarova and Tomankova entered the golden score period to decide the winner. Zilan Ertem (TUR) vs Nina Auer (AUT) In the second match for a bronze medal, we found on the tatami, the other Turkish competitor Zilan Ertem (TUR) against Nina Auer (AUT). Therefore, the top 4 seeds of the group were all fighting for bronze medals, a noteworthy statistic. First to action, Ertem scored a waza-ari with a yoko-otoshi. It did not take a lot more time for Ertem to add one more waza-ari from a low tai-otoshi and a clear win in less than one minute. Pakistan WAPDA athletes earn 4 top positions Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE:-The exciting competitions of 13th National for Men’s and Women’s Ju-Jitsu Championship are going on at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall here on Wednesday. A large number of Ju-Jitsu enthusiasts and sports lovers were there to cheer their favourite teams. Director General Sports Punjab Mohammad Tariq Qureshi, in a statement on Wednesday said that the players from all participating teams are demonstrating their best fighting skills. “We are quite upbeat that several talented male and female players will emerge from 13th National Men/Women Ju-Jitsu Championship.” At the end of 2nd day matches, a prize distribution ceremony was organized in which successful players were given medals. Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE:-Director General Sports Punjab Mohammad Tariq Qureshi inaugurated the 13th National Men’s & Women’s Ju-Jitsu Championship at a grand opening ceremony at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall here on Tuesday. Director General Sports Punjab Mohammad Tariq Qureshi and Director General Iran Khana Farhang Lahore Jafar Ronas were the guests of honour on this occasion. They also unveiled the championship trophy before being introduced to all the participating teams, referees and other officials. They also witnessed the exciting fights and appreciated the games skills of young players. Director General Sports Punjab Mohammad Tariq Qureshi and Director General Iran Khana Farhang Lahore Jafar Ronas also exchanged souvenirs at the inaugural ceremony. Director General Sports Punjab Mohammad Tariq Qureshi also presented souvenirs to other guests including Dr Nafees Anjum, Rana Mahmood-ul-Hasan and President Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation (PJJF) Khalil Ahmed Khan on this occasion. Director Sports Nadeem Qaiser, Director Admin Syed Omair Hasan, DSO Tanveer Shah, National Chess Champion Mahmood Lodhi, President PJJF Khalil Ahmed Khan, Secretary PJJF Waqar Ilyas Khan, Director Referee Kazim Ali Changezi, Administrator Mustfa Shah and other officials were also present on this occasion. Over 300 male and female players from eight teams Wapda, Police, Navy, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), GilgitBaltistan (GB), Sindh and Islamabad are participating in the 3-day 13th National Men/Women Ju-Jitsu Championship. Players and officials of all the participating teams also took part in march-past.  

Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE:-Director General Sports Punjab Mohammad Tariq Qureshi has said that Sports Board Punjab (SBP) will provide best facilities and cooperation for the holding of 13th National Men/Women Ju-Jitsu Championship scheduled to be held at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall from August 23 to 25, 2002; he said this while addressing a press conference at National Hockey Stadium on Monday. Director Sports Nadeem Qaiser, Director Admin Syed Omair Hasan, Chief Sports Consultant SBP Hafeez Bhatti, President Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation (PJJF) Khalil Ahmed Khan, Secretary PJJF Waqar Ilyas Khan, Director Referee Kazim Ali Changezi and other officials were also present on this occasion. Addressing the press conference, Director General Sports Punjab Mohammad Tariq Qureshi said that country’s top teams including Pakistan Army, Navy, Wapda and all provinces will participate in the 3-day championship. “The championship will be considered a sort of trials and performance of all male and female players will be monitored minutely in the 13th National Ju-Jitsu Championship and the top performers of the event could be given a chance to represent Pakistan in international Ju-Jitsu competitions”. Elaborating the origin of Ju-Jitsu, DG Sports Punjab Mohammad Tariq Qureshi further said that Ju-Jitsu is a kind of martial arts and the games of judo and karate have also started from ju-jitsu. “The center of ju-jitsu is Japan, after which the sport started in Brazil,” he added. Director General Sports Punjab Mohammad Tariq Qureshi further said that Sports Board Punjab is focusing on individual sports to win medals in international events. “We are going to prepare a nursery of young players from Under-10 to Under-16 players of different games from across the province. Several of these young players will become star players and win medals for the country in future”. Director General Sports Punjab Mohammad Tariq Qureshi said:“We are working on a plan to build an arena in Nishtar Park Sports Complex for Power Sports. “Power sports will include wrestling, boxing, weightlifting, powerlifting, judo, karate and other sports”. President Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation (PJJF) Khalil Ahmed Khan on this occasion said that ju-jitsu players have always earned laurels for Pakistan at the international level. “Ju-jitsu players won several gold medals for Pakistan in the past and will continue this streak in future as well”.

Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-A 7-member squad including 5 male and 2 female players will represent Pakistan in the Taekwondo event of the upcoming 5th Islamic Solidarity Games 2022, which will be taken place Konya, Turkey. Pakistani athletes will be in action from August 8-12, as the seven-member kyorogi squad includes Mazhar Abbas, Hamza Omar Saeed, Haroon Khan, Shahzaib Khan, Fatima tuz Zahra, Naqsh Hamdani, and Noor Rehman. Yousuf Karimi and Najia Rasool are with the squad as male and female coach respectively. The solidarity games are the biggest sports event in the Muslim world in which athletes from as many as 57 countries participate for top position. According to Lt Col (retd), Raja Wasim Ahmed Janjua, President PTF, Omar Saeed, Chief Exceutive Officer (CEO) of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) sponsored all athletes for this international trip. Meanwhile, the PTF officials thanked Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) for the administrative support. Federation’s President Waseem Janjua and the team Head and CEO of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation Omar Saeed hoped that the team will produce notable performance, as the players are well-prepared by undergoing rigorous training and preparatory sessions. It is pertinent to mention here that mainly the renowned and ranked athletes of Muslim Countries from Asia, Africa, and European will be featuring in the 10-day Muslim World's biggest sporting extravaganza.

Sports Bulletin Report PEAHAWAR:-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa female team has been selected for the 13th National Jujitsu Championship, which will be held in Lahore. The teams were selected after trials in which more than 100 players from across the province participated. Ahad Gul Afridi, Abdul Samad, Naeem Khan and Secretary General Tahsinullah were the part of selection committee. Names of selected players: Sadaf Riaz in 48 kg, Ayesha in 52 kg, Rana Nawaz in 57 kg, Bushra Bibi in 65 kg, Men's 50 kg GM.

Sports Bulletin Report RAWALPINDI:-Pakistan Army got the top position with 29 gold medals in the 15th Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship 2022 at Shahbaz Shareef Sports Complex, Rawalpindi, as the All Poomsae and Khyrougi events were conducted except 2 x Khyrougi Events which will be conducted during closing ceremony. Pakistan Army retained his supremacy by winning 29 gold, 6 silver and 1 bronze medal and aggregated 859 points. Pakistan WAPDA grabbed second position by winning 2 gold, 19 silver and 11 bronze medals and secured 490 points. Abdul Jabbar Faisal RAWALPINDI:-Strong Army athletes produced sparking performance by winning 7 gold medals on the opening day of the Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship 2022 that kicked off at Shahbaz Shareef Sports Complex, Rawalpindi on Friday. Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shared each one gold medal after 9 bouts. Teams from Provinces, Departments, Services, Gilgit Baltistan, AJK and Islamabad are participating, as the event is being sponsored by Combaxx Sports and Korean Embassy, Islamabad. Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD: The 15th Korean Ambassador National Senior Taekwondo Championship will start from Friday (July 22, 2022) at Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex Rawalpindi under the banner of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), top officials announced this in a press conference at a local hotel on Thursday. President PTF, Mohammad Wasim Janjua further told the media persons that males, females and para teams would take part in the 4-day national championship. “Top national athletes from Balochistan, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber PukhtoonKawa (KPK), Pakistan Army, Air Force (PAF), Navy), Islamabad, Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan will feature in the championship, “he maintained.  “Grand opening ceremony is scheduled to be hosted by HE Kwak Sung-Kyu, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Islamabad and Ehsan-ur-Rehman Mazari, Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC). This event will help enhance and project the soft image of Pakistan and attract a capacity crowd as this is a mega extravaganza of sporting festival of Taekwondo during which talented players will be in action, “he added. “This event will also provide the national players from diverse and far-flung areas of the country to come in contact with each other at a joint platform and interact with each other to have national level exposure and help promote harmony and peace in the society. Our players are highly talented which is evident from their winning a number of medals at international events including the recent Asian Championship held in Korea where Pakistan, “he concluded.
