Cricket News: Women's skills camp to start on July 5, 2023
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: The skills camp for the female cricketers will start on July 5 back-to-back in Lahore and Karachi under the banner of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which will be concluded on July 17, 2023.According to the media department of PCB, the 1st phase of the skills camp will take place at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore from 5 to 9 July where 20 players from Lahore and adjoining areas, will take part, providing them with a platform to showcase their skills and abilities.Following the completion of the five-day Lahore leg, the focus will shift to Karachi as Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre will be the venue for the camp from 13 to 17 July. England, New Zealand to play the opener fixture: Pakistan to meet India on October 15 in Ahmedabad Sports Bulletin ReportMumbai (India):-The International Cricket Council (ICC) today announced the schedule for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 at a ‘Countdown to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023’ event in Mumbai, as Ahmedabad will host World Cup opener between the finalist teams of 2019 world cup England and New Zealand on October 5.As many as 10 teams feature in what will be the biggest Cricket World Cup ever, to be played across 10 venues from 5 October to 19 November, with the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad hosting the tournament opener and the final and also high voltage contest between two traditional foes nation India and Pakistan on October 15, 2023.Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune are other hosts of the international cricket nation. Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram will join Hyderabad in hosting the practice games.Eight teams have qualified for the 46-day event through the Cricket World Cup Super League while the final two spots will be taken by the finalists of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier taking place in Zimbabwe.The tournament retains the round-robin format of last time with all teams playing against each other for a total of 45 league matches. There are six day matches which will start at 10h30 Indian Standard Time (IST) while all other matches, including the knockouts, will be day-night fixtures starting at 14h00 IST.The top four teams will qualify for the semifinals, to be played in Mumbai on 15 November and in Kolkata on 16 November. Seven matches were played with the support of Region Cricket Association and Quetta District Association. In the first match of the day, Jafarabad outclassed Nushki by 7 wickets. Nushki scored 114 runs, as Mohammad Yaqoob was outstanding with 29 runs. Fahad Hussain, Hayatullah, Talib Hussain, and Najeebullah got each 2 wickets for Jafarbad. In reply, the winners got their target after losing only three batters.  Ashraf Ali (55), and Zubair Mengal (26) were top scorers for Jafarabad, who finally won the match by 7 wickets. Imran Mengal claimed two wickets for Nushki.Quetta Chaltan stunned Naseerbad by 7 wickets in the second match of the day, Naseerabad Naseerabad scored 128 for 7 runs. Mohammad Nasir (31), Fazal Khan (21), and Zahoor Elahi (21) were notable run-makers for Naseerbad. Mohammad Ghos and Ahstanullah of Quetta Chaltan dismissed two players each. While Ajab Shahzad 3 Abdul Salam and Nizamuddin dismissed two players.Lasbela defeated Gwadar by 73 runs, as they scored 160 for 9 runs.Sultan was top scorer with 41 runs. Gawader could score 86 runs. Abdul Jabbar of Gwadar took three wickets and Razzaq took two wickets. Lasbela won this match by 73 runs. The second match was played between Pashin and Khuzdar. Pashin scored 186 runs for the loss of four wickets, including Israr Ahmed's best hundred and one, while Imran Khan's 44 runs were included. Khuzdar could score 169 runs for the loss of 9 wickets, Kaleemullah 66 and Mohammad Razoran stood out with 39 runs while Mohammad Javed and Mohammad Naseer got two wickets each.
