Saeed-uz-Zaman Janjua Memorial Cup: FG/Din Polo lift trophy
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: FG/Din Polo edged out DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel by 8-7½ in the main final of the Maj Gen Saeed-uz-Zaman Janjua Memorial Polo Cup 2023, sponsored by JS Bank, here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Sunday. The special guests on this occasion were former Army Chief General Jahangir Karamat (R) and Mrs. Maj Gen Saeed-uz-Zaman Janjua. General's family, son Brig Badr-uz-Zaman (R), Club Secretary Maj Ali Taimur (R) and a large number of spectators were present on the occasion. The match between FG/Din Polo and DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel proved a clash of titans and after a very tough fight, team FG/Din Polo emerged winners by a narrow margin of 8-7½. Juan Cruz Greguol was the hero of the day from the winning side, as he fired in five goals while Mian Abbas Mukhtar slammed in three goals for FG/Din Polo. Nicholas Roberts played well for DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel by contributing three goals while Daniyal Shaikh added two and Col Omer Minhas (R) and Osman Aziz Anwar one goal each. Talking to media after registering title victory, Mian Abbas Mukhtar of FG/Din Polo said: “We are happy to have played the first final of the season and thanks to Allah Almighty, we have won it. We will play and plan better to win the upcoming tournaments as well.” FG/Din Polo’s Farhad Sheikh said that they played with a good game plan, which resulted in the title triumph. “We are keen to continue performing well in the coming tournaments and win more titles for our team.” Earlier in the subsidiary final, Master Paints outpaced Master Paints/Newage Cables by 9-5½.

CNS Amateur Golf Championship: Rizwan maintains lead on Day II
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: In the Senior Category, Rizwan Rashid of Margalla Green Golf Club (MGGC) maintained his lead on the second day of the 16th Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Amateur Golf Championship 2023 at MGGC Islamabad on Friday. His (Rizwan) score was 154 after completing 36 36-hole games, as Mohammad Aslam Khan was still crawling behind him with a 158 gross score at the end of day 2.Also, Ami Qin exhibited an excellent game of golf and was on top of the score sheet with a score of 162 in the Ladies’ competitions. Zaibun Nisa (166) reached on second spot, as she was third on the opening day. Ana James Gill was on third position with a score of 167.
