AQEEL KHAN LIFTS CAS KHYBER CUP OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-Pakistan No.1 Aqeel Khan lifted the trophy of the 39th Chief of the Air Staff Khyber Cup Open Tennis Championship-2022 after defeating Mohammad Shoaib by 7-5 and 6-2 in the final played at PAF Officers’ Mess Islamabad. Air Marshal Hamid Rashid Randhawa, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Administration), Pakistan Air Force was the chief guest at the occasion. In the Boys Under-18, qualifier Mahatir Mohammad upset top seed Sami Zeb in a thrilling final by 6-2 and 6-2 and won the championship. In the Under-12, Hamza Ali Rizwan defeated Zohaib Afzal Malik by 4-2 and 4-1 in final match. In the Men’s doubles final, Aqeel Khan and Mohammad Abid defeated Mohammad Shoaib and Barkat Ullah by 6-3 and 7-6. At the end, the chief guest gave away trophies and cash prize to the winners and runners-up. It is important to add here that Ladies event was not the part of top national tennis fixture.

Gatorade Trophy Tennis Championship starts from May 28
Sports Bulletin Report KARACHI:-The 2nd Gatorade Trophy Tennis Championship will start from May 28 at Union Club Karachi under the banner Karachi Tennis Association. According to an official, the events are , Men’s Singles Men’s Doubles, Ladies Singles,  Juniors Under 17 Singles,  Under 15 Singles, Under 13 Singles , Under 11 Singles, Under 9 Singles, Under 7 Singles and Under 15 Doubles Mohammad Khalid Rehmani will act as Tournament Director & Referee while Qudsia Raja , Assistant Referee, Sarwar Hussain, Organizing Secretary. Ishrat zehra , Media Coordinator, Eibad Sarwar, Farha Riaz, Erum Bukhari, Fouzia Falak, Raisa Ashfaq, Perween Akhter , Touqeer Hashmi are the members.

Aqeel Khan pairing with Mohammad Abid claimed Men’s Double title after beating Mohammad Sohaib and Barkat Ullah 2-0 at the same venue. CAS KHYBER CUP: Aqeel Khan and Mohammad Shoaib set to meet in final
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-Top seed Aqeel Khan and Mohammad Shoaib set to meet in the Men’s Singles final of the 39th Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Khyber Cup National Ranking Tennis Tournament after beating Muzammil Murtaza and Mohammad Abid respectively in straight sets 2-0 in the semifinals here at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex on Tuesday. In the first semifinal, Aqeel Khan outclassed Muzammil Murtaza in straight sets 2-0 in a single-sided affair, as the Pakistan number one guy was in good touch and did not allow his low ranking opponent to settle his feet on the court. Aqeel displayed top quality game and Muzammil was not able to response the Aqeel’s aggression. The final score-line was 6-1 and 6-1. Meanwhile, in the second semifinal, Mohammad Shoaib had to toil hard to overcome Mohammad Abid at the same venue. Shoaib finished the first set easily at 6-3, however, he faced great resistance in the second set by his opponent Mohammad Abid. The second set went up neck-to-neck, as was leveled at 6-6. Later, on set-break, Shoaib compelled his challenger to bow out from court. Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-Top seed Aqeel Khan, Muzammil Murtaza, Mohammad Abid and Mohammad Shoaib have qualified for the semifinals of ongoing 39th Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Khyber Cup National Ranking Tennis Tournament by winning their respective quarterfinals at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad on Sunday. Salim Saifullah Khan President-PTF visited the PTF Complex to witness some of the matches and interact with the players. The President appreciated the efforts of the PAF/ PTF organisers and Mohammad Arif Qureshi ITF White Badge Referee for the smooth conduct of the event. Westbury National Tennis Championship: Shahab lifts the title
Sports Bulletin Report KARACHI:-Shahab Khan overcame Mohammad Ali 2-1 in the Men’s Singles final to lift the title of the 19th Westbury Tennis Championship that concluded at Modern Club Karachi. The final score-line was 6-1, 3-6 and 10-7. Rasheed Jan Mohammad, Chief Executive of Westbury Group was the chief guest at the final to distribute the prizes among the winners and runner-ups. Abdul Sattar of Modern Club was guest of honor. Also, Mohammad Khalid Rehmani , Ahmed Ali Rajpoot, Mahfoozul Haq, Sarwar Hussain ( STA) , Rafi Derbari ( HTA) , Imtiaz Sheikh  ( SOA) Mohammad  Saeed ( Dart Association ). Wheelchair Tennis Star Asif Abbasi determines to bring Laurels for the country
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-Pakistan No. 1 wheelchair tennis star, Asif Gul Abbasi hoped that he would boost the green flag in the international sports arenas in upcoming prestigious international wheelchair tennis fixtures, as he was toiling hard to maintain fitness level. It is pertinent to mention here that Asif defeated high ranked Indian players in both Singles and Double event in the Wheelchair Tennis World Cup qualifying tournament in Antalya, Turkey. While talking to this international sports website over his mobile from London he added that the victory against traditional rival India encouraged him too much and he was toiling hard to give them tough fight in the forthcoming international wheelchair tennis events. Abbasi, 42, further said, “I won a total of three international tennis tournaments so far and I am solitary wheelchair tennis player of Pakistan, who broke into top 100 best world ranking 82 in the world in October 2018. I won 16 National series wheelchair tennis tournaments in the UK in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and was declared best player thrice in same years, “he maintained. Responding to a question, he said that he achieved these honours without any support or help from any organisation. “Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) should support me and I can win the medals in the international games including Paralympics in future. I had contacted Pakistan Paralympics and requested them to send my name for Paralympics 2020 but they did not take this seriously. Unfortunately I could not represent Pakistan in these games, “he replied.

CAS KHYBER CUP NATIONAL RANKING TENNIS TOURNAMENT
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-Top national tennis players including Aqeel Khan, Mohammad Sohaib, Mohammad Abid and Muzammil Murtaza have confirmed their entries in the 39th Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Khyber Cup National Ranking Tennis Tournament, which is scheduled to kick-off from May 20, 2022 at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Garden Avenue Islamabad. According to an official of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), top national tennis tournament is pursuing prize mony of Rs. 700, 000. Top national tennis lads Pakistan number one Aqeel Khan, Mohammad Shoaib, Muzammil Murtaza, Mohammad Abid, Yousaf Khalil, Shahzad Khan, Barkatullah, Heera Ashiq and Mudassir Murtaza have confirmed their participation and will be in action during 7-day fixture. A total number of 125 players will take part in different five categories including Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Boys Under-18 Singles, Boys & Girls Under-12 Singles and 45+ Doubles. Prize Money of Rs. 700000 will be distributed amongst the participants. Also, PTF will provide available accommodation to the outstation players at PTF Complex. The matches will be played in two sessions because of the hot weather, 1st session from 8 am to 1 pm and 2nd session from 4 pm to onward. Arif Qureshi ITF White Badge Referee will officiate the matches. The final will be played on May 26 at the same venue. Salim Saifullah Khan President-PTF said: Khyber Cup is one of our very prestigious events on the PTF calendar and assured all possible support and assistance for the smooth conduct of the event. Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has always played an active role in the promotion of tennis in Pakistan. I wish all the participants good luck for better performance during the tournament.

Westbury National Seniors & Juniors Tennis Championship from May 14, 2022
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-The 19th Westbury National Seniors’ & Juniors’ Tennis Championship 2022 will be played from May 14 to 20 under the banner of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) and Sindh Tennis Association (STA) at the Hard Courts of Modern Club Karachi. According to Media Coordinator STA Ishrat Zehra, Juniors Under-18 Singles & Doubles, Boys Under-16 Singles & Doubles, Boys Under-14 Singles & Doubles, Boys & Girls Under-12 Singles & Doubles, Boys & Girls Under-10 Singles & Doubles, Girls Under-18 Singles & Doubles,  Girls Under-14 Singles & Doubles and Seniors 55 Plus Doubles event will be played during the 7-day national tennis showpiece. Organizers also added few local events to offer competition opportunity of all categories which includes Men’s Singles & Doubles, Senior 35+ Doubles, Soft Tennis Men’s Singles & Soft Tennis Ladies Singles and Wheelchair Men’s Singles. All out station main draw Junior players are entitled to economy class railway fare and daily allowances as per PTF rules.
