ITF Pakistan Juniors Tennis Championships leg-1 starts at PTF
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: ITF Pakistan Juniors Tennis Championships leg-1 February 2023 commenced today at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad.  A total number of 6 qualifying matches were played on the first day:  A  Large number of foreign players (boys/girls) from Turkey, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Thailand, UK, Malaysia, Romania, Singapore, China, Poland, South Korea, Canada and Pakistan are participating in the leg-1 event. The event will provide a very good opportunity for the players to improve their ITF Ranking which is very useful for them in future. National Juniors Tennis: Two titles each for Ahtesham, Abdur Rehman
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Two titles each for Ahtesham Humayun (SNGPL) and Abdur Rehman (SICAS) in the Millat Tractors Junior National Tennis Championship 2023 that concluded at Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah Lahore on Saturday. SNGPL’s Ahtesham Humayun played outstanding tennis against Mahatir Mohammad of Karachi to win the boys U-18 final by 6-3, 7-5. The final was a treat to watch as both the players exhibited their prowess throughout the final and displayed outstanding tennis skills and techniques, but Ahtesham held his nerves and succeeded in winning the thrilling encounter by 6-3, 7-5. “I worked really during this event and now I am looking forward to represent my country in ATF, and ITF junior events.” In the boys U-16 finals, Ahtesham Humayun continued to shine and succeeded in completing the brace of titles after thrashing young Asad Zaman by 6-1, 6-0. In the boys Under-18 doubles final, Mahatir Mohammad/Asad Zaman got w/o against Ahtesham Humayun/M Salaar. In the boys U-14 final, Hamza Ali Rizwan beat Amir Mazari 2-6, 6-4, 13-11 to clinch the title. In the boys U-14 doubles final, Amir Mazari and Nabeel Qayum beat Zohaib Afzal Malik and Hamza Ali Rizwan 5-3, 3-5, 10-6. In the boys/girls U-12 final, Abdur Rehman (AAA Associates) beat Razik Sultan 4-0, 4-2. In the boys/girls U-12 doubles finals, SICAS’ Abdur Rehman/Hajra beat Shayan Afridi/Junaid Khan 5-3, 4-0. In the boys/girls U-10 final, Shayan Afridi beat Mustafa Uzair Rana 4-0, 4-0. National Juniors Tennis Championship: Mahatir, Ahtesham in final
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Mahatir Mohammad and Ahtesham Humayun have reached the Millat Tractors Junior National Tennis Championship 2023 Boys’ Under-18 singles and Doubles final after beating their respective opponents in the semifinals played here at the Punjab Tennis Academy Bagh-e-Jinnah on Friday. In the boys U-18 semifinals, Mahatir Mohammad beat M Salaar 6-3, 6-3 while Ahtesham Humayun beat Asad Zaman 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. In the boys U-18 doubles semifinals, Mahatir Muhammad/Asad Zaman beat M Sohaan Noor/Waleed Humayun 6-1, 6-1 while Ahtesham Humayun/Salaar beat Hamza Jawad/Hassan Ali 6-4, 6-2.  In the boys U-16 semifinals, Asad Zaman beat M Salaar 6-3, 6-3 while Ahtesham Humayun beat Hamza Ali Rizwan 6-2, 6-4. In the boys U-14 semifinals, Amir Mazari beat Zohaib Afzal Malik 6-3, 6-3 while Hamza Ali Rizwan beat Abdur Rehman 6-0, 6-0.  In the boys U-14 doubles semifinals, Hamza Ali Rizwan/Zohaib Afzal Malik beat Razik Sultan/Haziq Areejo 4-1, 4-1 while Amir Mazari/Nabeel Qayum beat M Uzair/Arsalan 4-2, 4-1.  In the boys/girls U-12 semifinals, Abdur Rehman beat Mohammad Shayan Afridi 5-3, 5-3 and Razik Sultan beat M Junaid 4-1, 4-1. In the boys/girls U-12 doubles semifinals, Hajra/Abdur Rehman beat Mohammad Ibrahim Hussain Gill/Bismel Zia 4-1, 4-0. In the boys/girls U-10 semifinals, Hajra/Abdur Rehman beat Mohammad Ibrahim Hussain Gill/Bismel Zia 4-1, 4-0.  On Saturday (February 3), all finals will be played. RMTA National Seniors and Juniors Tennis Championships conclude
Sports Bulletin Report KARACHI: The 6th RMTA McDonalds National Seniors & Juniors Tennis  concluded here at DA Creek Club on Saturday, Air Vice Marshall (AVM) Razi Nawab graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest to give away trophies to winners and runners up of various disciplines. Nadir Mirza of RMTA claimed an upset victory, as he defeated top seed Asad Zaman of Lahore in the final of Juniors Under 18 Singles with the score-line of 6-3 and 6-3. Mohammad Khalid Rehmani, Vice president Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) announced to hold two more national tournaments in province Sindh before Ramadan. He congratulated winners and runners up of various events, 200 plus entries were received from various parts of country. Asif Gul Abbasi an icon for Wheelchair tennis in Pakistan
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: Asif Gul Abbasi is a trailblazer of wheelchair tennis in Pakistan. He is the first Pakistani wheelchair tennis player to win three international tournaments, reach at a world ranking of 82, and make a significant impact on the sport in his country. Not only is he a skilled and dedicated player, having won 16 national tournaments and being named "Player of the Year" three times, he is also a highly qualified coach, holding level 3 certification for tennis and level 2 certification for cricket. As a captain, he has led the Pakistani wheelchair tennis team to participate in the World Team Cup in Turkey for the first time in the country's 75-year history, finishing fourth out of seven in the Asia Oceania group and creating history by beating India in their group match. He continues to work hard as he is set to lead the team again in the upcoming World Team Cup in Thailand in February 2023. Abbasi's contributions to the sport in Pakistan are invaluable, and his achievements serve as inspiration to aspiring wheelchair athletes in Pakistan and around the world. He is a true ambassador of the sport and has raised the bar for wheelchair tennis players in Pakistan. He is the face of wheelchair tennis in Pakistan, and his legacy will be remembered for years to come.

ITF Asia Under-14: Pakistani teenagers sweep the Leg-II event
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: Duo of Pakistani teenager tennis lads Hamza Roman and Abubakar Talha swept the Leg-II event of the ITF Under-14 Development Championships, South, Southeast and East Asia by winning both Singles and Doubles fixtures, which concluded at Dhaka Bangladesh on Thursday. According to a press release of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), in the Boys’ Singles final, Pakistan players Hamza Roman outplayed compatriot Abubakar Talha 2-0 in the final with the score-line of 6-2 and 6-3. Earlier, in the Boys’ Doubles final, Hamza Roman pairing with Abubakar Talha outclassed their opponents from Bangladesh J. Bhuiyan and Mohammad Tushar in straight sets 2-0. The winners only conceded two games in both sets. Final score-line was 6-2 and 6-0. ITF Asia Under-14 Development Championships, South, Southeast and East Asia were held in Dhaka Bangladesh from January 7 to 19, 2023. Besides Pakistan, Myanmar, Cambodia, Mongolia, Laos, Nepal, Bhutan, Chinese Taipei, Bangladesh and Maldives took part in the two weeks international juniors tennis event. The Pakistani player's Hamza Roman and Abubakar Talha played exceptionally well in the Championships and won back-to-back titles. Senator Salim Saifullah Khan President PTF congratulated both the players and captain Khalid Mahmood Khan for the great achievement. PTF names national team for Davis Cup Tie against Lithuania
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has named the national tennis team for the upcoming Davis Cup Tie, which will be played against Lithuania at SEB Tennis Arena in Vilnius on February 3 and 4, 2023. According to an official of PTF, Pakistan team will consist of ace tennis star Aisam ul Haq Qureshi (Playing Captain), Aqeel Khan, Mohammad Shoaib, Mohammad Abid and Bilal Asim. Muzammil Murtaza, who had qualified for the team, would regrettably not be available for this tie, as he had to travel to the USA for other prior commitments. The training Camp will start on 16th January 2023, at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, and will continue till the team's departure.

Pakistan Tennis Federation selects three players for Davis Cup
Hamza Roman, Nadir Reza Mirza, and Abubakar Talha include in the team after trials at PTF Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD (January 5, 2023): Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) picked up three players team for the juniors’ Davis Cup Under-16 Qualifying Round Tennis Tournament after conducting 2-day trials here at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Garden Avenue on January 2 and 3, 2023. According to an official of PTF, eight players were invited for the trials as per their ranking and performance, and Hamza Roman, Nadir Reza Mirza and Abubakar Talha have been selected for the team on their sparking performances. Pakistan’s number one tennis player Aqeel Khan will accompany the team as a non-playing captain-cum-coach. Junior Davis Cup Qualifying Event is scheduled to be held in Kazakhstan in May next year 2023. Senator Salim Saifullah Khan President PTF congratulated the selected players and wished them good luck and advised them for displaying better performance in the junior’s international tennis showpiece.
