Islamabad National Junior Tennis Championships conclude
Hamza Roman outplays Mohammad Hamza Aasim 2-0 in Boys’ Under-18 finalAbdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD: Hamza Roman overpowered Mohammad Hamza Aasim 2-0 to clinch the Under-18 Boys’ Singles title of the Islamabad National Junior Tennis Championships 2023, which concluded at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad on Saturday. In the Girls Under-18 Singles finals, Amna Ali Qayum got rid of Zunaisha Noor 2-1 in a well-contested three sets contest with the final score-line of 1-6, 6-3, and 6-2.In the first set of the Boys’ Under-18 final, Hamza Roman exhibited top-class tennis and played some powerful forehand and backhand drives, which were not returnable. He did not allow his opponent Mohammad Hamza to settle his feet on the court. Hamza Roman won the first set without conceding a solitary game. His drop shorts were also applaudable.Later, in the second set, Mohammad Hamza showed some resistance and displayed shining tennis, as the second set went up neck-to-neck till 3-3, as both players held their respective serves. It was a well-contested set in which both players locked the horns. A large number of spectators enjoyed the game of both teenagers in the Aqeel Khan Centre Tennis Court of Pakistan Tennis Complex. Finally, Hamza Roman won the final with the score-line of 6-0, and 6-4.         Saeed Ahmad Khan, Senior Vice President (SVP) Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) graced the closing ceremony as chief guest, and distributed prizes among the winners and runner-ups of different category competitions. Also, Gul Rehman, Secretary-General-PTF, Arif Qureshi Secretary-ITA, Sohail Bulent, Mushaf Zia Former Davis Cupper, Nasser Kasuri, Gahtan Vahidy, Abrar Hassan and a large number of players, Coaches, parents and tennis lovers were present on this eve. Islamabad National Juniors’ Championship to start on Tuesday
110 players to participate in different age group categories competitions   Abdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD (October 23, 2023): Islamabad National Juniors’ Tennis Championship will roll into action on Tuesday here at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Garden Avenue, as 110 teenagers will participate in the competition for the top position.According to an official, the aims of the 5-day national junior championship are to bring together as many as 110 tennis talents from across the country and to provide a platform for young players to showcase their skills and compete in a spirit of sportsmanship. Girls U-18 Singles, Girls U-12 Singles, Girls U-10 Singles, Boys U-18 Singles, Boys U-14 Singles, Boys U-12 Singles, Boys U-10 Singles, Boys U18, and U14 Doubles competitions will be held in the championship.Arif Qureshi, the tournament director, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to ensure the smooth execution of the championship. Husnain Mehmood, the tournament referee, will oversee the fair and just application of the rules, promoting a competitive yet respectful atmosphere.Rashid Ali, the tournament coordinator, will play a role in coordinating the daily logistics and ensuring a seamless experience for both players and spectators. Bilal, Ahtesham, Mazari win titles in Aitchison College Junior Tennis
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: Bilal Asim, Ahtesham Humayun and Amir Mazari have won the titles in their respective categories in the 6th Aitchison College Junior National Tennis Championship 2023 that concluded here at the Aitchison College hard courts on Saturday.In the boys' U-18 final, Bilal Asim from SNGPL emerged victorious against Ahtesham Humayun with a score of 6-3 (retired). The boys' U-18 doubles final saw Bilal Asim and Ahtesham, both representing SNGPL, defeating Mohammad Salaar and Kashan Tariq with a commanding score of 8-1. In the girls' U-18 final, Amna Ali Qayum secured her title by beating Lalarukh with a convincing score of 6-1, 6-2. Ahtesham Humayun, also from SNGPL, triumphed in the boys' U-16 final by defeating M Salaar with a score of 6-4, 6-4. In the boys' U-14 final, Amir Mazari from Aitchison College emerged as the victor by defeating Omer Jawad with a score of 6-2, 6-2. The boys' U-14 doubles final witnessed an exciting clash, with Omer Jawad and Hamza Ali Rizwan prevailing over Amir Mazari and Muzamil Bhand with the score being 5-3, 2-4, 10-6. The boys/girls U-12 final showcased a thrilling battle, with Shayan Afridi emerging as the winner by defeating Rashid Ali Bachani with a score of 7-5. In the boys/girls U-12 doubles final, Abdur Rehman and Hajra Suhail secured victory by defeating Ali Bachani and Zayd Zaman with a score of 6-3. In the boys/girls U-10 final, Rashid Ali Bachani claimed the title by beating Mustafa Uzair Rana with a score of 6-4. The concluding ceremony was graced by the presence of Michael Thomson, Principal of Aitchison College, who acted as the chief guest. He distributed prizes, certificates, and shields among the winners and runners-up. The ceremony was also attended by PLTA Secretary Rashid Malik (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), Omer Saeed of Servis Industries as well as the players, their families, and tennis enthusiasts, making it a memorable occasion for all.

President PTF Salim Saifullah visits wheelchair tennis camp
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: President, Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) on Saturday visited the Wheelchair tennis camp that started at SDA-PTF Tennis Complex Garden Avenue aiming to prepare the national players for the upcoming Para-Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou, China this month from October 24 to 29, 2023.According to an official of PTF, two wheelchair tennis players Asif Gul Abbasi, and Fida Hussian will undergo training under the supervision of Head Coach Asim Shafik and Assistant Coach Noman-ul-Haq. Khalid Rehmani, who is Coach-cum-Manager of the team will accompany the players.The President visited the PTF Complex and interacted with the players Asif Abassi and Fida Hussain. He lauded the services of Khalid Rehmani for his passion and efforts for the promotion of wheelchair tennis by enhancing the players' capacity to participate in international events. He also conveyed that proper structure is being planned at the provincial and federal levels to be headed by dedicated and qualified tennis coaches who are to be nominated by the PTF management.
