Abubakar, Omer, and Hamza selected for International fixtures
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Abubakar Talha, Omer Jawad, and Hamza Ali Rizwan have been selected for international competitions, as the top two lads will participate in the ITF Asian Under-14 Development Championships Finals, which will be held from January 8, 2024 in India. Players have been picked up after conducting trials at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad.According to an official of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), the top 2 players will travel to India to participate in the ITF Asian Under-14 Development Championships Finals, which will get underway from January 8, 2024 while the top 3 players will travel to Malaysia to participate in the Asia/Oceania WJT Final Qualifying event on March 25, 2024.As many as 9 players were invited, based on their top performance and current PTF Under-14 national ranking and the following 3 players have been selected after the completion of the trials.

ITF appoints Committees and Commissions members from Pakistan
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: International Tennis Federation (ITF) has announced the 2024-2025 Committees and Commissions Appointments and officials from Pakistan.According to an official of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), the president PTF Senator Salim Saifullah Khan has become the member of Davis Cup & Billie Jean King Cup Taskforce while Asim Shafik will be the part of ITF Coaches Commission. Mohammad Ali Murtaza has been nominated the member of ITF Juniors Committee.In a message, Salim Saifullah Khan and PTF Management thanked David Haggerty, President ITF, and his team for the prestigious appointments. The President-PTF has also assured the President ITF that he and his team would continue to work with the same zeal and dedication for the promotion and development of tennis.

Rashid, and Hameed claim upset victories in ITF Masters Thailand
Sports Bulletin ReportPattya (Thailand): Former Davis Cupper tennis men, Hameed-ul-Haq and Rashid Malik registered upset victories in the 60+ Singles of the ITF Seniors’ Master Championship at Pattaya, Thailand.Hameed-ul-Haq and Rashid Malik moved in the semifinals after these wins. Rashid malik outclassed Peter Schubert of Germany (World Ranking 70) in straight sets 2-0 with the score-line of 6-0, and 7-6 while Hameed-ul-Haq overpowered Simon Arms of Australia (World Ranking 12) with the score-line of 6-1, and 6-1.In the 65+ Doubles Category Waqar Nisar (Pak) and Kazuhico Imahashi (Japan) lost to Shay Abramovich (Israel) and Robert McGuigan 3-6, 7-5, 6-10 in the quarterfinals.

Yoshito Oda wins Boys’ Singles while Viktoriia Sedova lifts Girls Single titleSports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Yoshito Oda from Japan, Viktoriia Sedova from Russia have won the Boys Singles, and Girls Singles title after winning their respective finals of the ITF Pakistan J30 World Junior Tennis Championships-II 2023, which concluded here at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex on Friday.In the Boys Singles Finals, Yoshito Oda from Japan beat local player Ahmed Nael Qureshi 2-0 with the score-line of 6-4, and 6-2 while in the Girl's Singles final, Viktoriia Sedova overcame Saajida Razick from Sri Lanka after a three sets competition with the score-line of 4-6, 6-1, and 6-3.Advocate Majid Bashir SEVP-ITA was the Chief Guest at the Closing Ceremony. Sohail Bulent was the guest of honour at the closing ceremony. ITF World Junior Championship: Nael Qureshi storms in final
Ahmed Nael to meet Yoshito Oda from Japan in the final on FridayAbdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD: Pencil-thin, rising tennis player, Ahmed Nael Qureshi overcame Kamonpanyakorn Thadapong from Thailand 2-1 to qualify for the final of the ITF Pakistan J30 World Junior Tennis Championships-II at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad, as the final score-line was 4-6, 6-3, and 6-3 and the match lasted one hour and 40 minutes. Ahmed Nael Qureshi will take on Yoshito Oda from Japan in the final on Friday at the same venue. In the first semifinal, local player 4th Seed Nael Ahmed Qureshi (PAK) caused a major upset by defeating top seed Tadpong Kamonpanyakorn of Thailand in a thrilling three-set match of the day. It is pertinent to mention here that Ahmed Nael Qureshi is a student of Westminster School and an upcoming talented youngster from Ace Tennis AcademyNael Qureshi started the match on a very positive note and continued the pace of the game with the exchange of good rallies and cross-court short till score went-up 3-3 level. In the seventh game, Qureshi made some unforced errors and hit the ball into the net, and lost the game by hitting a double fault. At this stage, Tadpong built-up his winning lead 5-4 and tried to finish the set in the 9th game but failed to convert and ultimately grabbed the 10th game to win the set at 6-4.Qureshi changed the game plan in the second set by playing some attacking game according to the situation and built up a winning lead of 4-2 by breaking the 2nd and 6th game of Tadapong. Nael after losing the 7th game played extraordinary tennis and broke back the 8th game and held the 9th game in his favour, taking the 2nd set at 6-3, and leveled the match 1-1.In the final and decisive set, both the players exhibited a high standard of tennis. Hameed-ul-Haq to play two international tournaments
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Former Davis Cupper, Hameed-ul-Haq will represent Pakistan in the upcoming ITF MT700 Assetwise ITF Masters Championship Pattaya, which will kick off on November 18, 2023 and ITF MT400 at Greta Sport Club ITF Master III Pattaya, which will start on November 25, 2023 in Pattaya, Thailand.Assetwise ITF Masters Championship Pattaya will be held from 18 November to 24 November 2023 on Synthetic Hard Courts at the Royal Cliff Hotel, Fitz Club - Pattaya, while the Greta Sport Club ITF Master III Championship will be held from 25 November to 01 December 2023 on Synthetic Hard Courts at the Greta Resort, and Sport Club, Pattaya. Hameed will participate in the seniors’ 60+ singles, doubles, and mixed doubles competitions.It is pertinent to mention that the last month, Hameed toppled the tournament second seeded Indian player Dillip Singh Nongmaithem 2-0 in the 60+ Category final of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) seniors’ Tennis Championship 2023 at Greta Sports Club Pattaya, Thailand. The final score-line was 6-0, 6-0.

All foreign female players reach the Girls’ Singles quarterfinalsSports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: The 6th local tennis lad, Seed Hamid Israr Gul outclassed Taichi Tamura from Japan 2-1 in the second round of the Boys’ Singles fixture of the ITF Pakistan J30 World Junior Tennis Championships-II here at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex on Tuesday.In the first set, both the players played a defensive game strategy by holding their own serve 5-5 games. In the 12th game, Hamid made some unforced errors and hit the ball into the net, which resulted in losing the first set at 5-7. In the second set, Hamid Israr changed the game plan and played his own natural game by hitting down the line and cross-court shots and building up the winning lead 5-1. After losing the 8th game Hamid again made some unforced errors but managed to settle in the next game and won the second set at 6-3 and levelled the match one set all. In the decisive set, Hamid Israr did not allow his opponent to settle down and build up the winning streak 4-1.
