Ali Embroidery Mills Junior National Tennis Championship commences
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: The Ali Embroidery Mills Junior National Tennis Championship 2023 started at the Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy, Nishtar Park Lahore, with a vibrant opening ceremony on Sunday.Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA) Secretary, Rashid Malik (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), graced the event as the chief guest and formally inaugurated this prestigious tournament. During the colorful opening ceremony, Malik praised Ali Embroidery Mills Pvt Ltd for their significant contributions to the promotion of tennis in the country. He acknowledged the generous support of Ali Embroidery Mills' CEO, Tariq Zaman, in not only organizing national tournaments but also conducting the High-Performance Tennis Camps, which are playing a pivotal role in enhancing the skills of top players, who have gone on to achieve national and international recognition for their country. The first day of the championship witnessed more than 20 matches, with top players securing comfortable victories, showcasing a high standard of tennis throughout the day. In the boys U-18 1st round, standout performances included Mohammad Shaheer Khan's 6-0, 6-0 victory over Hanzla Anwar, Yafat Nadeem's 6-1, 6-1 win against Hassan Ali (GC), Ali Talha's 7-5, 6-2 victory over Abdullah Pirzada, Haider Ali Rizwan's 6-2, 6-0 triumph against Mohammad Sohaan Noor, and Abubakar Khalil's 6-1, 6-2 win over Abdur Rehman Pirzada. In the Boys U-16 qualifying round, Awais Ali Ansari emerged victorious with a 6-2 score. For the Boys U-14 1st round, Amir Mazari (Aitchison) defeated Ahmad Khuda Bakhsh 4-0, 4-0. Mohammad Shakaib secured a 4-2, 4-1 win against Awais Ali Ansari, Bilal Awais outperformed Hassan Alam with a score of 5-3, 4-0, Abdur Rehman defeated Essa Bilal 4-0, 4-0, and Hamza Ali Rizwan claimed a 4-0, 4-0 victory over Mohammad Rehan. In the Boys/Girls U-12 1st round, Taha Asad won with a score of 5-4, 4-0, and Mohammad Umar Ali defeated Essa Khan Malik 4-0, 4-0.

The event also drew the presence of foreign women polo players and renowned showbiz personalities, with notable attendees like Juggun Kazim. The day began with a spirited javelin competition, followed by an exciting motorcycle parade that thrilled the spectators. The final match kept the audience on the edge of their seats. Pebble Breaker exhibited exceptional gameplay, ultimately defeating Lahore Smart City with a score of 5-3. Bilal Haye was the standout performer, contributing three crucial goals, while Ahmed Ali Tiwana scored two goals for Pebble Breaker. On the opposing side, Farooq Amin Sufi, Mumtaz Abbas Niazi, and Agha Musa each scored a goal for Lahore Smart City. In the Subsidiary Final, Team FG Polo displayed their prowess by defeating DS/Sheikhoo Steel with a score of 8-5½. Hamza Roman outplays Mohammad Hamza Aasim 2-0 in Boys’ Under-18 finalAbdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD: Hamza Roman overpowered Mohammad Hamza Aasim 2-0 to clinch the Under-18 Boys’ Singles title of the Islamabad National Junior Tennis Championships 2023, which concluded at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad on Saturday. In the Girls Under-18 Singles finals, Amna Ali Qayum got rid of Zunaisha Noor 2-1 in a well-contested three sets contest with the final score-line of 1-6, 6-3, and 6-2.In the first set of the Boys’ Under-18 final, Hamza Roman exhibited top-class tennis and played some powerful forehand and backhand drives, which were not returnable. He did not allow his opponent Mohammad Hamza to settle his feet on the court. Hamza Roman won the first set without conceding a solitary game. His drop shorts were also applaudable.Later, in the second set, Mohammad Hamza showed some resistance and displayed shining tennis, as the second set went up neck-to-neck till 3-3, as both players held their respective serves. It was a well-contested set in which both players locked the horns. A large number of spectators enjoyed the game of both teenagers in the Aqeel Khan Centre Tennis Court of Pakistan Tennis Complex. Finally, Hamza Roman won the final with the score-line of 6-0, and 6-4.         Saeed Ahmad Khan, Senior Vice President (SVP) Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) graced the closing ceremony as chief guest, and distributed prizes among the winners and runner-ups of different category competitions. Pakistan Open Tenpin Bowling Championship starts on November 7
Sports Bulletin ReportKARACHI: The Pakistan Open Tenpin Bowling Championship will roll into action on November 7, at Royal Rodale Club, DHA, Karachi.President, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF), Ijaz ur Rehman, said: “The preparations of the event are in full swing. Male and female athletes from across the country will participate in the championship. Eight categories of competitions will be held, including open singles, amateur, ladies, under-22, senior, media, doubles, and mixed team”. “Players who wish to participate in the championship can register their names till November 5. The championship will continue till November 12 and at the end of the championship, prizes will be distributed among the winning players. The Championship will be played under the auspices of PTPB in collaboration with the Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association.”

Agha Musa Ali Khan was the star player for Lahore Smart City, showcasing his skills with four spectacular goals. Hamza Mawaz Khan, representing Remington Pharma with a half-goal handicap advantage, displayed an impressive performance by scoring three goals.The second match of the day saw Rijas Polo defeating Platinum Homes with a score of 5-4½. Ahmed Bilal Riaz contributed significantly with three goals for Rijas Polo, while Maj Adil Sultan Rao added two goals to their tally. On the other side, Malik Atif Yar Tiwana of Platinum Homes, with a one and a half goal handicap, displayed a strong performance by scoring three goals.In the third match, Guard Group dominated Team Barry's with an impressive 11-2½ victory. Lahore clinches Inter-Division Basketball: Lahore lift title
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Lahore Division basketball team outplayed Islamabad by 100-59 in the final of the Inter-Division National Basketball Championship 2023 to win the title at Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad. Military Attaché of the Embassy of Russia in Pakistan Col Surgey A Tyurin was the chief guest of the closing ceremony.The winners showed their aggregation in the whole match and garbed the final in a single-sided affair. Lahore spikers took the lead of 20 points till the half time of the decisive final by 52-32 points. Safiullah and Taimur Mehdi scored 21 and 14 points respectively for Lahore while from the Islamabad side Ashrab Butt scored 25 and Bakhtawar scored 7 points respectively. In the third position match, Faisalabad beat Peshawar by 55-43 points.

Basketball Federation (PBBF) Secretary General Khalid Bashir, Federal Basketball Association (FBBA) Secretary General Ouj E Zahoor, Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Deputy Director General Saeed Akhtar and other dignities were witnessed two exhilarating semifinal matches of the championship which held under the supervision of the Federal Basketball Association. The first semifinal featured a nail-biting showdown between the talented squads of Islamabad and Peshawar. The match had fans on the edge of their seats as both teams displayed exceptional skills and fierce determination. After an intense battle, it was Islamabad that emerged victorious with a final score of 67 to 59 points.Asharab Butt shone as the star player for Islamabad, leading his team with a remarkable 18 points. He was ably supported by Rizwan Khursheed, who contributed 12 crucial points. Peshawar's efforts were led by Abdul Wahab, who scored 14 points, and Mohammad Faisal, who added 13 more to their total.The second semifinal featured a dominant performance from Lahore, as they secured an easy win with a final score of 81 to 48 points against defending champion Faisalabad.Lahore's Safiullah was the standout player, contributing a staggering 22 points to his team's victory.
