Youth is real asset of Pakistan, says Adnan Arshad Aulakh
SB Report LAHORE:-Director General Sports Punjab, Adnan Arshad Aulakh has said that youth was the real asset of Pakistan and youth were capability to steer the country into the right direction; he expressed these views while addressing Youth Conference 2019 at SBP E-Library, Nishtar Park Sports Complex on Tuesday. Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, Divisional Sports Officer Nadeem Qaiser, DSO Tanveer Shah and large number of girls and boys were also present in Youth Conference held under the auspices of Jago NGO. Addressing the Youth Conference, Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh lauded the holding of Youth Conference. “Such platforms are need of the hour to give right direction to youth of the country especially in this crucial time”. “We have 64 per cent of youth in our country and such a large number of young people can change the fate of the country if they managed to utilise their abilities and potential properly”. Adnan Arshad Aulakh further said: “Our youth must realize its responsibilities. Through sheer hard work, our youth can surpass every kind of hurdles”. Aulakh said Sports Board Punjab was making effective efforts to provide sufficient sports facilities to youth of the province. “Sports activities are must for healthy youth. We are also going to launch youth policy in near future”. Highlighting Punjab govt’s measures for the bright future of youth, Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh said: “Punjab government recently launched Youth Portal. Our youth can utilise various facilities such as skill development, entrepreneurship and job opportunities etc with a single click in Punjab Youth Portal”. He also visited various departments of Punjab E-Library where Head Librarian Asif Bilal briefed him about different features and functions of E-Library.

Ahmed Shehzad 111 help Central Punjab chase Northern 222
SB Report FAISALABAD-An unbeaten 111 from 63 balls by Ahmed Shehzad helped Central Punjab to a four-wicket win over Northern in the fifth fixture of the ongoing National T20 Cup at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium. Set a target of 223, Central Punjab chased down the total on the penultimate ball of the match. Opener Ahmed played an instrumental role in the run-chase, hitting 13 fours and three sixes to guide his team to their first win of the tournament. The next best scorer in the Central Punjab’s innings was Saad Nasim, who made 29 from 20 balls with three fours and a six. Faheem Ashraf lofted two sixes and a four in his 28, which came off 16 balls. Northern’s captain Imad Wasim was the pick of the bowlers with three for 38. That Northern had set 222 for six in 20 overs – after deciding to bat - was because of Asif Ali, who struck a blistering 93 off 35 balls with four fours and 10 sixes. Mohammad Nawaz scored 51 off 35 balls, cracking four sixes and a four as the pair stitched a 107-run partnership for the third-wicket. Faheem took three wickets for 44 runs. Waqas Maqsood, Nasim Shah and Usman Qadir took a wicket each. Salim visits PTF
Our Sports Reporter ISLAMABAD-Salim Saifullah Khan, President Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) visited PTF Tennis Complex Islamabad today to witness the Junior Tennis Initiative Program where student from Schools participated in the training under the JTI National Coordinator Hamid Niaz, NDD PTF/Head coach of NTC Asim Shafik, NTC Assistant coach Azim Khan and Regional JTI Coordinator Masood Abbasi. He interacted with the students undergoing the JTI introductory training session. The students also took photographs with the President PTF, who appreciated their interest in the game of Tennis which is very essential besides generating healthy activities but also building of character and leadership traits of the students. The President also witnessed some matches being played at the ITA-SNGPL ITF PAKISTAN JUNIOR TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS-2019 and interacted with the foreign players and their parents/coaches. The foreign players and their parents showed great satisfaction on the conduct of the event and also the state of the art courts. They said that they have been extended all possible hospitability by the Pakistanis and they feel at home.

By Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD-As many as sixteen matches have been decided on the second of second leg of the ITF Pakistan Junior World Ranking Tennis Championships, as close contests were seen on the synthetic surface of Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad on Tuesday. A major upset was made in the Girls Singles event when 2nd Seed Safi Meshkatolzahra was eliminated by unseeded talented Jang Soo Ha (KOR) in two straight sets match 6-3, 6-1.  Jang Soo-Ha (KOR) is a daughter of Pakistan National belongs to KP. Another thrilling match of the day was played between Thouard Clemence (FRA) and Mahin Qureshi (PAK) which was won Thouard Clemence (FRA) in exciting two sets match 7-6(3), 7-6(3). Whereas Top seed Aysegul Mert (TUR), 3rd Seed Valitova Arina (RUS), 4th Seed Choi Ji-Woo (KOR)  moved into the quarter final in straight set match. In the Boys Singles, unseeded Kang Gunuk (KOR) caused a major set when he eliminated 4th Seed Knese Luca Mmanuel (GER) in straight set match 6-0, 7-6(4), Top seed Webb Daniel (GBR), 2nd Seed Huzaifa Abdul Rehman (PAK), 3rd Seed Min-Joon KIM (KOR), 5th Seed Nouman Aftab (PAK), 6thSeed Shoaib Khan (PAK), 7th Seed  Saqib Hayat (PAK) and 8th seed Kamil Ahmed (PAK) advanced into Quarter finals by beating their respective opponents in one sided affairs.  Shoaib Khan (PAK) comfortably breeze in to quarter final by beating the last week finalist of ITF Pakistan Kim Dong Hwan (KOR) 6-0, 6-4. Punjabs 450-member contingent to participate in 33rd National Games 2019
Staff ReportLAHORE:-Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti on Monday announced that Punjab’s 450-member contingent would take part in the 33rd National Games scheduled to be staged at Peshawar from Oct 26 to Nov 1, 2019. Double draw of Boys & Girls were also took place in presence of players at Referee office. Defending champion Shoaib Khan, who is paring with Huzaifa Abdul Rehman are second seed whereas Daniel Webb (GBR) and Knese Luca Emanuel (GER) are top seed in the Doubles event.  In the Girls Doubles Khanloo Mahta (IRI) and Safi Meshkatolzahra (IRI) are top seed and Choi Ji-Woo (KOR) and Jang Soo Ha (KOR) are second seed.
