Imran Butt and Abid Ali hit tons on opening day
Sports Reporter LAHORE (October 20, 2021):-Balochistan captain Imran Butt and Central Punjab opener Abid Ali made centuries in their sides’ matches against Sindh and Southern Punjab on the opening day of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2021-22. Imran smashed 104 off 222 to record his sixth first-class century at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad. The right-hander knitted a solid 194-run stand with his fellow opener Imam-ul-Haq, who missed out on a century by three runs, as he was dismissed by Asad Shafiq after scoring 97 off 166 (10 fours and two sixes). Balochistan ended the day on 253 for the loss of four wickets. Abdul Wahid Bangalzai (32 not out) and Ayaz Tasawar (0 not out) will resume the innings tomorrow. Sindh’s Mir Hamza, Mohammad Asghar and Mohammad Hasnain were the other bowlers to take a wicket each. As Balochistan had crossed the 250-run mark, they gathered two batting points for the innings, while Sindh got one bowling point for dismissed four batters inside the first 100 overs. Abid’s unbeaten 132 was the highlight of the first day of the Punjab Derby at Multan Cricket Stadium as Central Punjab ended the day at a strong 289 for three. They gathered two batting points. Netherlands batters post 164 for 4 runs on scoreboard, as their Opener Max O Dowd played a superb innings and scored 70 runs in 56 balls. He hit 4 fours and solitary six. Colin Ackermann added 35 runs in the team total. He faced 32 deliveries while Edwards scored 21 runs after wasting 11 balls .He smashed couple of fours and one six. FIH announces Juniors World Cup schedule
Ali Ahmed LAHORE (October 20, 2021):-International Hockey Federation (FIH) on Wednesday announced the complete schedule of the upcoming FIH Hockey Junior World Cups, Men’s and Women’s, which will be played Bhubaneswar, India. According to media department of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), the opening match of the FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Bhubaneswar 2021 will be played between Belgium and South Africa on November 24 at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, India. Pakistan will play first match against Germany on November 24, as Egypt and Argentina are also in the in Pakistan’s Pool. As many as 16 teams from all over the world compete for the top honour. Besides, hosts India, Pakistan, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Malaysia, South Africa, Chile, Canada, France, Poland and United States of America (USA) will be in action in the World Cup Juniors’ Hockey. Following England’s withdrawal, Poland will join the event and play in Pool B alongside the hosts and title holders, India, as well as Canada and France.

The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 has approved Akeal Hosein as a replacement for Fabian Allen in the West Indies squad. Left-arm spinner Hosein, who has played nine ODIs and six T20Is, was named as a replacement after Allen was ruled out due to an ankle injury. Hosein was a reserve as per the allowance for teams to travel with extra players in view of COVID-19 quarantine requirements. The replacement for Hosein in the reserves list will be the uncapped Gudakesh Motie. PPFL: PAF and Navy clinch victories
Mohammad Kabir RAWALPINDI (October 20, 2021):-Pakistan Air Force(PAF) and Pakistan Navy have won their matches after beating their opponents in the 13th Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) at Municipal Stadium Rawalpindi. In the first match, PAF defeated Karachi United 3-0 goals. Two teams fought well and were engaged 0-0 at the end of the first half. In the 53rd minute Waleed scored the first goal for PAF and just after one minute, Mujahid doubled the score 2-0. The third goal was scored by Mansoor in the last of the scheduled time. Referee showing yellow card to Azan of Karachi United for playing foul in the 79th minute. The match was locked 3-0 at the end of the stipulated times. In the 2nd match Pakistan Navy beat Huma Club, Islamabad 4-3 goals. Huma Club took a 3-2 lead against Pakistan Navy at the end of the first half. In the 22nd minute of the first half, Ibrahim scored the first goal for Huma Club and Waheed doubled the margin 2-0 in the 29th minute. Noman reduced the margin 2-1 in the 40th minute for Pakistan Navy. The third goal was scored by Ibrahim for Huma Club in the 45th minute and Adeel again reduced the score 3-2 for Pakistan Navy in the injury time of the first half. The third and fourth goals were scored by Noman and Rizwan for Pakistan Navy in the 64th and 67th minutes respectively. At the end of the scheduled times, Pakistan Navy took 4-3 lead. Abdul Wahid received a yellow card for Huma Club in the 69th minute. President, Australian Football League of Pakistan, Sardar Tariq Mehmood was the chief guest on the occasion. National Women Hockey: Punjab (C) and WAPDA set to play final
Sports Reporter LAHORE (October 19, 2021):-The women hockey teams of Punjab (C) and WAPDA stormed into the final of First Chief Minister Punjab 5-a-Side National Women Hockey Championship after winning their thrilling semifinals at National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday. Wapda edged out Railways by 2-1 in the first semifinal while Punjab (C) thrashed strong Army team by 4-1 in the second semifinal clash. The final match of First Chief Minister Punjab 5-a-Side National Women Hockey Championship will be played between Punjab (C) and Wapda women hockey teams at 7.00pm on Wednesday at National Hockey Stadium whereas Railways and Army teams will clash in 3rd/4th position match at 6.00pm at the same venue. Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh and his wife Zakia Adnan were the guests of honour at the semifinals. In the first semifinal, Wapda women hockey team defeated Railways by a narrow margin of 2-1. Both the teams played aggressive hockey in the initial stages of the match. Wapda scored first goal in 7th minute through HamraLatif’s field effort. However, Railways bounced back in the very next minute when SarikaSarwar converted a penalty stroke to level the score. Wapda’sNida Asghar scored the decisive goal through her beautiful field move in the 9th minute of the match. Both the teams tried their best to score more goals in the second half but in vain. The second semifinal was played between Punjab Colours and Army at the same venue. Punjab (C) dominated the proceedings right from the beginning against strong Army team and took 2-0 lead at the half time. Sidra Hakim struck two beautiful goals while MahakRasheed and Mariam Hussain contributed one goal each in their team’s 4-1 victory. Army’s Asma scored the only goal for her team through her field move in the 19th minute.

Richie Berrington played brilliant innings and scored 70 runs in only 49 balls. He smashed 3 fours and 3 sixes. Wicket keeper batsman Matthew Cross scored 45runs in 36 balls including hit pair of sixes and fours while George Munsey made 15 runs in 10 balls.
