Both teams won the semifinals on Wednesday quite comfortably. Army beat Lahore (84-58):In the first semifinal, Pakistan Army faced a formidable challenge from Lahore Division Basketball Team but emerged victorious with a scoreline of 84-58. At halftime, Army held a close lead of 38-23. Tughlab Ammar led the charge for Pakistan Army with an impressive 33 points, supported by Mohammad Shehbaz Ali (9 points) and Sheraz Aslam (9 points). National Hockey Training Camp to start today in Islamabad

Pakistan will participate in the Olympic qualifying round, which will take place from January 15 to 21, 2024 in Oman.PHF directed all 39 players to report team manager and camp commandant Olympian Shehbaz Ahmed Senior. Besides Pakistan, teams from England, Germany, New Zealand, Malaysia, Canada, Chile, and China will participate in this event. PHF appoints Asif Bajwa as chairman National Selection Committee
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: President, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Brigadier (Retd) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar has said that the president International Hockey Federation (IHF), Rabindra Batra was responsible for shitting the Olympics qualifying round from Pakistan to Oman after expressing security concerns, as many international teams had been visiting Pakistan for many years.He was addressing a press conference at PHF Headquarters here flanked with Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali, Secretary General PHF, Parvez Bhandara, Olympian Asif Bajwa, Olympian Shehbaz Ahmed Senior and announced the new National Selection Committee while appreciating the work of the previous National Selection Committee. “Asif Bajwa will be the chairman of the selection committee while Olympian Kaleemullah Khan has been appointed as the chief observer. Olympian Anjum Saeed, Olympian Zeeshan Ashraf, Olympian Kamran Ashraf have also been included in the selection committee. While the manager of the national team, Olympian Shehbaz Ahmed Senior, head coach Roelment Oltamens, Olympian Shafqat Malik, Olympian Kashif Jawad, video analyst Abuzar umrao, while the manager of the five-a-side World Cup, Olympian Waseem Feroze, chief coach Olympian Qamar Ibrahim and Olympian Sheikh will be among the coaches. Usman and Olympian Mohammad Khalid will be the coaches. While Olympian Nasir Ali and International Rana Shafiq have been appointed as coordinators of PHF, “he revealed.He said that former FIH President Rabindra Batra was responsible for withdrawing the hosting of the Olympics qualifying round while some countries also expressed security concerns after which the hosting of the Olympics qualifying round was withdrawn from us. “We have a good relationship with the Indian Hockey Federation but we should not be compared with them. Abdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD: Chairman, Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Normalization Committee (NC) Haroon Malik has said that long-term planning for the national soccer team was the need of the hours, as the World No. 193 Pakistan team’s performance against World No. 109 Tajikistan was acceptable despite of losing the game 1-6 at Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex on Tuesday.While talking to media reports after the match, Haroon added that he was satisfied with the performance of players and the work of overseas coach Stephen. “We beat Cambodia 1-0 at home and we lost to the world’s best football team Saudi Arabia 0-4 on their soil and people were happy with the performance. The same coach (Stephen) had prepared the strategy, ‘he replied a question. “FIFA Qualifier on home ground, witnessed by 20,000 passionate football fans. I am thankful to Stephen Constantine and our players who provided us moments to cheer. Our players tried to give their best against the much superior visiting side, playing much better than expected in such a short span of time, “he further added."These six second-round matches of FIFA Qualifiers are development matches. Our entire effort is to qualify for the AFC Cup.
