18-man team announced for FIH Junior Hockey World Cup
Chief selector Mohammad Asif Bajwa unfolds the names of playersPakistan to face Netherlands on December 6 in their opening fixtureAbdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD: The National Selection Committee (NSC) Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) headed by Mohammad Asif Bajwa named an 18-man national hockey junior team, which will take part in the forthcoming FIH Junior Hockey World Cup 2023, starting from December 5 at Bukit Jalil National Hockey Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As many as 16 teams worldwide will fight for top honour during the 12-day international prestigious hockey showpiece, as Argentine will defend their title.On Wednesday, Mohammad Asif Bajwa flanked by member of the NSC Olympian Anjum Saeed, Manager Asif Naz Khokhar, and Head Coach Roelant Oltamans, announced the squad after the approval President PHF, Khalid Sajjad Khokhar.It is pertinent to mention here that Green Shirts won only one time Junior Hockey World Cup title in 1979 after defeating West Germany in the final. Four foreign players to participate in CAS International Squash
Abdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD: Secretary, Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) Aamir Nawaz formally announced that the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Men’s and Women’s International Squash Championships would be rolled into action from November 20 at Mushaf Squash Complex Islamabad.While addressing a press conference at a local hotel on Tuesday, he further added that four foreign players would take part in the annual fixture of CAS. “Men’s event is pursuing prize money of $12,000 while women’s $6,000. The main draw of both tournaments will consist of 24 players, “he said. “Besides Pakistani players, athletes from Malaysia, Egypt, and Spain will compete in the forthcoming tournament. The prize money for the men's championship is USD 1805 for the winner and USD 1140 for the runner-up, while the prize money for the women's event is USD 902 for the winner and USD 570 for the runner-up. The championship finals are set to take place on December 4 at the same venue, “he concluded.
Ibrahim clinches Aitchison National Squash Championship title
Sports Bulletin ReportPESHAWAR: Army squash lad, Ibrahim Mohib has won the title of the Aitchison National Squash Championship after beating Ibrahim Zeib from Pakistan Air Force (PAF) 3-1 in the final.Ibrahim won the first game while in the second game his opponent had the advantage, after which Ibrahim Mohib was successful in the third and fourth game. The final score-line was 11-7, 7-11, 12-10, and 11-8, as the minutes lasted for 40 minutes. In the Under-13 final, Sohail Adnan defeated Syed Mohammad Hussain while In Under-19, Abdullah Nadeem won the trophy by defeating Kaleemullah of Punjab by 3-0.

Raja Temur Nadeem and Mir Huzaifa Ahmed contributed two goals each, while Bilal Hayat Noon scored one goal. Remounts' efforts were marked by Lao Abelenda's three goals along with two goals from Mohammad Naeem and one from Omer Asjad Malhi. In the earlier subsidiary final, Team Newage Cables/Master Paints showcased superior polo skills, outpacing Pebble Breaker 6-3. Both teams displayed commendable performances, but Newage Cables/Master Paints demonstrated their prowess, securing a decisive 6-3 victory in the subsidiary final.President LPC Azam Hayat Noon graced the final as chief guest. Karachi guys set a 231 runs total on the board in a 20 over per inning fixture. Both opener batters did well with the bat and remained unbeaten after playing all 20 overs. Tahir Ali was the top scorer. He played an unbeaten innings of 120 runs off 74 balls while his partner made Ayoub Khan 93 not out off 52 balls.Abbottabad opening batters didn’t give any chance to the Karachi bowlers and reached the target in 18.4 overs. Attcok set the competitive total of 239 runs on the board for loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Ehtisham ul Haq played a fantastic innings of unbeaten 134* runs off 79 balls and Mohammad Noman made 35 runs off 36 balls. Mohammad Ali Akasha bowled splendidly and took 3 wickets for Karachi. WAPDA overcome Pakistan Army 73-70 in a nerve-jangling basketball finalMohammad Azam DarLAHORE: Pakistan Wapda emerged victorious in a nail-biting final against the Pakistan Army and clinched the title of the National Men’s Basketball Championship 2023 Trophy at Government College University Lahore on Friday. Pakistan WAPDS got rid of the Pakistan Army by 73-70.Both teams displayed exceptional skills and tenacity and fought until the final moments. Wapda, however, seized control in the last quarter, securing a thrilling 73-70 victory. Zainul Hassan of Wapda emerged as the hero of the day, contributing a stellar performance with 28 points, while teammates Mohammad Usman and Mohammad Zahid Arif added 14 and 13 points, respectively. Despite a valiant effort from Army, Wapda's dominance in the closing stages proved decisive. Tughlab Ammar led the scoring for Army with 24 points, followed by Shoaib Aslam with 19 points and Sheraz Aslam with 12 points. The officiating team of Umer Mehmood, Syed Adnan Ali, and Saadat Jehangir ensured a fair and competitive match.Earlier, in the third position play-off, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) secured a convincing 90-61 victory against Lahore, claiming the third position. The closely contested match saw PAF with a slight 38-37 lead at halftime. Abbottabad made 241 runs in allotted 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Asnaad Khan was the top scorer with 36 off 24 balls. Irfan Ullah was the 2nd highest scorer with 35 runs off 30 balls.
