Asian Championship: Pakistan squad to visit Vietnam on May 10

Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Pakistan national taekwondo team of Khyrogi, and Poomsae will leave for Vietnam on May 10 (Friday) to take part in the Asian Taekwondo Championship 2024.According to an official of the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), teams have been diligently preparing under the guidance of both foreign and national coaches. The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), and Pakistan Sports Board (PCB) extended their full support by providing Training Facilities, Necessary NOCs, and financial assistance.The President/Secretary of PTF will attend the General Council Meeting of Asia, where they will present a bid to host the 7th Asian Open Championship in Islamabad, Pakistan in February 2025. Omer Saeed, CEO Pakistan Taekwondo Federation will also attend the meeting as an observer. National Taekwondo Kyorugi and Poomsae Teams consist of 17 male, and 5 female players, who will show their skills and techniques in the events.

Pakistan squad named for Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship 2024

Sports Bulletin ReportKARACHI: The Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation (PJJF) has announced the team for the Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship, which will be held in Abu Dhabi from May 1 to May 8, 2024. Top Pakistani athletes will represent Pakistan in the championship.According to details provided by the Pakistan Jiu-Jitsu Federation, the national team has been announced for the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2024, including senior team members Mohammad Ammar, Isra Waseem, and Kainat Arif, along with junior members Under 18 Mohammad Yousaf Ali, Umar Yasin, and Hamad Baloch will be Under 16 category Additionally, Dalawar Khan Sannan and Abu Hurrara will participate in the Asian Referee Seminar and Exam. Tariq Ali, the General Secretary of the Pakistan Jiu-Jitsu Federation, will be the head national team and represent Pakistan at the General Assembly of the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Union. The President of the Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation hoped that the national team would demonstrate excellent performance in the championship, building on their success in the 2023 Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Thailand. He also emphasized the federation's commitment to providing ample opportunities for junior athletes and ensuring the best possible preparation with the support of the Pakistan Sports Board.

Hamza Saeed claims gold medal in Fajr Open Championship

Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Pakistani martial art athlete, Hamza Saeed has grabbed the gold medal in the 33rd Fajr Open Taekwondo Championship after defeating Mohammad Ibrahim Hosseini from Iran by 9-1 and 14-3 in the final of the +87 kg category in Tehran, the capital of Iran.According to an official of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), in the semifinals Hamza Saeed eliminated local player Amir Mohammad and Parham Khowari in the quarter-final. In the -54 category final, Pakistan's Shahzeb Khan was defeated by an Iranian player. In the second round of the final, the referee disqualified Shahzeb. Shahzeb won the silver medal. On this occasion, Hamza Saeed said it was a great honour for me to win the gold medal for Pakistan and be named the best player of the championship. Renowned athletes from all over the world participated in the Fajr Open, Hamza Saeed said, adding, that our head coach Yusuf Karami gave the best training to all the athletes in preparation for the event.

Training camp for Al Fujairah Open Championship concludes

Sports Bulletin ReportSharjah (UAE): The 15-day training camp of Pakistani athletes for the 11th Al-Fujairah Open Taekwondo Championship, which will be held in Al-Fujairah of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from February 4 to 6, 2024 in Sharjah UAE. The camp was organized by Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) under the supervision of Pakistan's Iranian-born coach Master Yusuf Karami.Top national players including Haroon Khan, Hamza Omar Saeed, Shahzaib Khan, Mohammad Arbaz Khan, Mazhar Abbas, Nauman and Ehtishamul Haq will represent Pakistan in the Al-Fujairh Open Championship. Omar Saeed will be Team Leader, Ashfaq Ahmed Manager, Yusuf Karami Head Coach, Zubair Macha will be the coordinator and Faisal Butt will be the physio. After participating in the Al Fujairah Open, the Pakistan Taekwondo team will participate in the Fajr Open Taekwondo Championship held in Tehran from February 12 to 15, in addition to the World Taekwondo President Asia Cup from February 16 to 19 in Tehran and then from February 21 to 22 will take part in the Asian Club Taekwondo championship.

Korean Ambassador Taekwondo Championship to start on December 16

Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: The 16th Korean Ambassador National Junior Taekwondo Championship will be held from December 15 to 16, 2023 at the Liaquat Sports Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Board Islamabad.According to an official of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), the championship will be held under the banner of taekwondo federation in collaboration with the Korean Embassy. Over 250 officials and athletes will be part of national juniors’ fixture.Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Pakistan WAPDA, Pakistan Railway, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtoon Khawa (KPK), Sindh, Baluchistan, Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan (GB), Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), and World Taekwondo (WT) Care Pogramme Team will fight for top honour during the two days event.

Sports Bulletin ReportAstana (Kazakhstan): The Senior Vice-President (SVP) Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), Aoun Abbas Hashmi visited Astana Kazakhstan at the invitation of Kazakhstan Taekwondo Federation (KTF) from December 2 to 6, 2023.During his visit, Syed Aoun Abbas held talks with the Secretary General of the Kazakhstan Taekwondo Federation WT O. Besbayev, in the presence of the Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan E. Marzhikpayev, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aiming to enhance the cooperation in taekwondo at different levels.

Pakistan MMA Team to participate in World MMA Championship

Initially, we had planned to send seven males and as many female athletes to participate in the championship but due to scarcity of funds. We decided to send only four athletes now including Shahzaib, Asim Khan, Dawood Jan, and Abdul Rehman along with team coach Imran Qasim, “he added.

Asian Open Taekwondo Championship: Afghanistan clinch title

Pakistan won second position with 2 gold, 1 silver, and 7 bronze medals, while the Kazakhstan team came third with 1 gold and 4 silver medals.In the women's event of the championship, Kazakhstan came first with 4 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals, Great Britain came second with 1 gold and 2 silver medals whereas Iran came third with 1 gold and 1 silver medal.In the prize distribution ceremony of the championship, the distinguished guests were the President of the Asian Taekwondo Union Prof. Kyu Seok Lee, Squash legend Jahangir Khan, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of Nepal Tapas Adhikaw, President of PTF. Colonel (retd) Waseem Janjua, Technical Delegate of the Championship Kook Hyun Jung, and CEO Umar Saeed distributed the prizes.Earlier, on the last day of the 5th Asian Taekwondo Open Championship Kyorugi event, four different weight category competitions were held. In the men's -58kg final, Kazakhstan's Zhavokhirkhon Islamov performed brilliantly and won the gold medal by defeating Lev Korneev of Serbia 2-1 in an interesting match.
