KARACHI(SBR)The Sindh Mixed Martial Arts Association, in collaboration with the Sports Department, Government of Sindh, and Abdullah Mall, is pleased to announce the Sindh MMA Referee and Coaches Seminar 2025, scheduled for Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Abdullah Mall, Qasimabad, Hyderabad.This seminar aims to strengthen the technical capacity of referees and coaches from across Sindh by providing structured training aligned with national standards in Mixed Martial Arts. Participants will benefit from expert instruction and may be considered for official roles in the upcoming Sindh and National MMA Championships.The event will conclude with a special closing ceremony, where Mr. Abdul Aleem Lashari, Secretary, Sports Department, Government of Sindh, will be in attendance as Chief Guest. His presence underscores the Government’s commitment to developing combat sports and supporting grassroots-level talent in the province.The Sindh MMA Referee and Coaches Seminar 2025 represents a vital step forward in the professionalization and institutional growth of MMA in the region.

Ubaidullah to participate in International Kyokushin Karate Championship 2025
PESHAWAR: Pakistan’s martial arts community continues to shine as Ubaidullah Khan, a dedicated and talented athlete from Peshawar, prepares to represent the nation at the prestigious International Kyokushin Kai Karate Championship scheduled for May in Morocco. Known for his discipline and fighting spirit, Ubaidullah has emerged as a promising name in multiple martial arts disciplines, including karate, French kickboxing, and wushu.His recent success at an international championship held in Lahore caught the attention of martial arts enthusiasts across the country. There, he secured a gold medal in French kickboxing (Savate) after defeating a tough Sri Lankan opponent in the final round. Additionally, he bagged a bronze medal in the national Wushu championship, demonstrating his technical versatility and competitive edge.Speaking to the media, Ubaidullah Khan said: “Representing Pakistan on an international stage is a dream come true. I’ve trained tirelessly for this moment. I believe that with the support of my coaches, family, and well-wishers, I can bring home a medal from Morocco, Insha’Allah. My ultimate goal is to raise the green flag high and inspire the next generation of athletes.”He added that his training regimen has been intense and focused, involving a combination of sparring, endurance drills, strength-building exercises, and mental conditioning.“I have left no stone unturned in my preparation. The level of competition at international events is extremely high, but I am ready to face any challenge,” he stated.Ubaidullah’s journey is not just a personal achievement but also a reflection of the growing talent emerging from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in combat sports. National Judo Championship: Army claim men’s and women’s titles
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: The 6th Men, and 1st Women Inter-Department National Judo Championship 2025 concluded at the Navy Sports Complex from February 23 to 26, 2025. Dominating the event, the Pakistan Army team emerged victorious, securing the championship title with an impressive tally of 11 gold medals.Organized by the Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF) in collaboration with Pakistan Navy, the championship witnessed fierce competition among top departmental teams. The strong and skilled Army contingent clinched 7 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal in the men’s category, while also securing 4 gold medals in the women’s category. The Pakistan Navy team finished as runners-up, earning 3 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze medals in the men’s section, along with 2 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze medals in the women’s category.The championship featured participation from six major departmental teams, competing across various weight categories. The men’s contests were held in ten weight divisions: -50 kg, -55 kg, -60 kg, -66 kg, -73 kg, -81 kg, -90 kg, -100 kg, +100 kg, and Open weight. Meanwhile, the women’s events took place in eight weight categories: -40 kg, -44 kg, -48 kg, -52 kg, -57 kg, -63 kg, -70 kg, and Open weight.Captain Kamran, Director Sports of Pakistan Navy, graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest. The event was also attended by the President of the Pakistan Judo Federation, Col. Junaid Alam, along with Major Naveed, Team Manager of Pak-Army, and Executive Members of PJF. 
Asian Taekwondo Open: Pakistan Shine in Poomsae with 16 golds

487 athletes confirmed for Asian Taekwondo Open Championships
Abdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD: Around 487 athletes from 22 different Countries have confirmed their participation in the Combaxx 7th Asian Taekwondo Open Championships 2025, which will kick off on February 14 at the international sports arena Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad.According to an official of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), 487 athletes from 22 countries, including Pakistan, have registered to participate in the Combaxx 7th Asian Taekwondo Open Championships 2025. 110 athletes will show their game skill in the Poomsae fixture while 100 players will participate in Junior Kyorugi category competitions. 277 athletes of the region will fight for top honour in the Senior Kyorugi fixture.International martial arts event is scheduled to take place from February 14 to 20, 2025. This international championship marks a significant milestone in Pakistan's taekwondo history and represents a major step toward promoting the sport on the global stage.Registration for the championship remains open until 11th February 2025, providing a final opportunity for interested athletes to participate in this landmark event. Athletes from various countries have expressed their excitement to visit Pakistan, appreciating the country's renowned hospitality and looking forward to competing at a high level.

Judo Federation celebrates World Judo Day on October 28
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF) and its affiliated units celebrated World Judo Day across Pakistan on October 28th, commemorating the birthday of Jigoro Kano Shihan, the founder of judo, with the International Judo Federation's theme of "Wellbeing." This year, World Judo Day emphasizes "wellbeing," a holistic concept that extends beyond the tatami to every aspect of life. Judo, as a practice, promotes physical, mental, emotional, and social wellbeing, enhancing our quality of life. For over thirteen years, the PJF has been organizing World Judo Day to celebrate judo and the values it instills in society.The PJF held the 17th Men’s and 10th Women’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inter-District Judo Championship at the Lala Rafique Sports Arena under the auspices of the District Government and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judo Association. Matiullah Khan, Secretary of Sports and Youth Affairs KP, was the chief guest, accompanied by Pir Abdullah Shah, Additional Secretary of Sports and Youth Affairs KP, and Saleem Raza, Director of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate. International athletes Malaika Noor and Mohammad Abbas also attended.Malaika recently became the first Junior female athlete from Pakistan to compete in an IJF event, while Mohammad Abbas showcased an impressive performance at the Asian Cadet & Junior Championship in Korea. PJF Secretary General Masood Ahmad, officials, and players joined the celebrations on October 28, embracing the theme of “Wellbeing.”In the Inter-District Championship, various districts from KP participated, including Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Swat, Abbottabad, Mardan, and Peshawar. Abbottabad claimed the women’s title with 85 points, followed by Lakki Marwat with 60 points. In the men’s category, Khyber District took first place with 93 points, while Peshawar finished second with 87 points.In Islamabad, the Islamabad Judo Association (IJA) celebrated by organizing an event with school students, who participated in cake cutting and received certificates. South Asian Gold Medalist Hamid Ali also joined the festivities.Following PJF’s instructions, the Sindh Judo Association held a World Judo Day event at the Gymnasium Hall in Karachi Coaching Center. Sindh Judo Association Secretary Mohammad Rafique and their judokas participated enthusiastically. Also in Sakhar were celebrated WJD along with Female Judoka (a district of Sindh).The Punjab Judo Association organized celebrations in Gujranwala District, with a large number of male and female judokas taking part. Secretary Punjab Judo Association Qamer Shakeel joined the students in cake cutting.World Judo Day was celebrated nationwide in a befitting manner, with the Pak-Army National Champion and Pak-WAPDA Runner-up teams also marking the occasion with a cake-cutting ceremony. Numerous male and female judokas across the country actively participated, learning about the history of judo and embracing its values.
Kukkiwon Director Asia, Cholong Um Visits Taekwondo Federation Secretariat

Col. (Retd) Raja Waseem Ahmed Janjua, President of PTF, Najam Siddiqui, Director International Affairs, and Mehraj Aslam, Director Kukkiwon Affairs of PTF, focusing on Kukkiwon-related matters.Cholong Um commended the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation for its dedicated efforts in managing the Kukkiwon Dan Promotion Tests and the issuance of Dan Certifications to Black Belt holders. She also toured the Kukkiwon Headquarters office currently being established within the PTF Secretariat.A ceremony was held to exchange souvenirs between both organizations, marking the occasion with respect and mutual appreciation. In attendance were notable figures, including Master Khalil Jabran, Korean Master Choi, and Syed Sadaqat Hussain, Executive Member of PTF.This visit further strengthens the ties between Kukkiwon and the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation, reflecting a shared commitment to the promotion of Taekwondo in Pakistan. 
Pakistan athletes clinch Asian Open Taekwondo Championship 2024
