National Badminton: Murad Ali and Mahoor clinch the titles

Quetta (September 19, 2021):-Top seed, Murad Ali (NBP) and Mahoor Shahzad (Wapda) lifts the singles titles of the All Pakistan National Ranking Badminton Tournament after beating Muqeet Tahir and Palwasha Bashir respectively in the Men’s and Women’s final at Quetta on Sunday.

Murad Ali was in full command in the 2nd and 3rd games after losing the 1st game. Mahoor Shahzad won in straight game. Palwasha Bashir fought with full energy and best skills against Mahoor Shahzad throughout the match.

In Men Doubles, Awais Zahid and Mohammad Ali Larosh (Wapda) won the finals against Raja Mohammad Hasnain (NBP) pairing with Raja Zulqarnain Haider (Wapda). In the Women’s Doubles, Mahoor Shahzad and Ghazala Siddiue (Wapda) won the title in a three game match against Saima Waqas and Khizra Rasheed (Wapda).

Abdul Khaliq Hazara Minister Sports of Balochistan was the chief guest at the final ceremony. He distributed trophies and cash prizes amongst the finalist.  Chief Guest announced up-gradation and construction of Sports facilities all over Balochistan. President, Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF) Nisar Ahmad Shahwani, Secretary General Wajid Ali Chaudhry, Mohammad Razzaq Gill Pakistan Wapda, Secretary General Punjab Badminton Association Tayyab Sohail, Mohammad Amjad Khan Secretary General Kyber Pakhtunkhwa Badmitnon Association and Referee of the tournament and Farhan Ali Lashari Secretary General Sindh Badminton Association were also present at the occasion.

Murad Ali (NBP) beat Muqeet Tahir (SNGPL) 12-21, 21-11, 21-6

Women Singles

Mahoor Shahzad (Wapda) beat Palwasha Bashir (NBP) 21-19, 22-20

Men Doubles

Awais Zahid & Mohammad Ali Larosh (Wapda) beat Raja Mohammad Hasnain (NBP) & Raja Zulqarnain Haider (Wapda) 21-15, 11-21, 21-19

Women Doubles

Mahoor Shahzad & Ghazala Siddique (Wapda) beat Saima Waqas & Khizra Rasheed (Wapda) 19-21, 21-12, 21-14
