ISLAMABAD: Ahtesham Humayun (PAK), Bilal Asim (PAK), Yoshito ODA (JPN), and Kamonpanyakorn Thadapong (THA) have confirmed their berths in the semifinal of the Boys’ Singles discipline after defeating their respective opponents in the ITF Pakistan Juniors Leg-1 Tennis Championships 2023 at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad on Thursday.

In the Boys’ Singles quarterfinal, Bilal Asim beat Hamza Roman in the match of the day, which lasted 3 hours and 15 minutes. Hamza won the first set with Bilal fought back to square the match 1-1 by winning the second. The final set went up neck-to-neck decided in a closely fought tiebreaker.

Bilal Asim (PAK) beat Hamza Roman (PAK) 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5)

Yoshito ODA (JPN) beat Hamid Israr (PAK) 6-3, 6-2

Kamonpanyakorn Thadapong (THA) beat Ahmed Nael Qureshi (PAK) 6-2, 6-1

Girls’ Singles (Semifinals):

Viktoriia Sedova (RUS) beat Phitchayapak Srimuk (THA) 6-4, 6-0

Saajida Razick (SRI) beat Hinata Wada (JPN) 6-2, 6-0

Boys’ Doubles (Semifinals):

Ahtesham Humayun / Mohammad Haider Ali Rizwan (PAK) beat Bilal Asim / Hamza Roman (PAK) 4-6, 6-3 [10-4]

Ahmed Nael Qureshi / Huzaima Abdul Rehman (PAK) W/O Toki Adachi (JPN) / Thanathip Poti (THA)

Girls’ Doubles (Semifinals):

Viktoriia Sedova (RUS) / Hinata Wada (JPN) beat Saajida Razick(SRI) / Venuli Senari (SRI) 6-2, 7-6 (1)
