ABBOTTABAD: Hazara Division is brimming with table tennis talent, but players urgently need proper facilities and professional guidance to reach their true potential, said table tennis coach Ibrahim Khan, while talking to the media during an ongoing summer training camp for junior table tennis players in Abbottabad.
“Hazara has no shortage of passion and skill, but the players face significant challenges,” Ibrahim Khan said. “The biggest issue is the lack of a dedicated hall for table tennis in Abbottabad. Players are forced to share space with other sports, which affects their practice and focus. Every sport needs a separate facility so that athletes can train with full concentration,” he said.
The coach revealed that 15 junior players are participating in the summer camp, including promising talents like Hanzala, Huzaifa, Hassan, Sufyan, Hamza, and Mah Noor. He added that with consistent training and proper opportunities, these youngsters could soon represent Pakistan at national and international levels.
“All the players in this camp are hardworking and strictly following the instructions of their coaches, which proves that Hazara Division has immense potential for the growth of table tennis,” Ibrahim Khan remarked.
He further urged the government and sports authorities to establish modern facilities, separate halls, and training centers for table tennis in Abbottabad and across Hazara Division. “Infrastructure plays a key role in the promotion of sports. If we take action today, these children’s achievements will become a source of pride for the country in the future,” he concluded.
