ISLAMABAD: Rising tennis player, Muzzamil Murtaza dispatched Pakistan number one and top seed Aqeel Khan 2-1 in the first semifinal of the Men’s Singles of the 9th the 9th Benazir Bhutto Shaheed National Tennis Championships 2023 after beating their opponents here at Islamabad Tennis Complex (ITC) on Saturday. The final score-line was 6-3, 5-7, and 6-4.

Muzzamil won the first set by 6-3 with ease while in the second set Aqeel controlled the game and took the set by 7-5. The 3rd set was thrilling, as both players toiled hard on the court to win the set as well as the semifinal. Muzzamil proved enough good to overcome heavyweight Aqeel Khan 6-4 in the decisive set. Ladies’ Single, Under 12, Under 10, and Under 18 Girls finals will be played at 10:30am while Men’s singles final will be played at 1pm. Farahat ullah Baber will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
