Salman Khan MULTAN: Shiekhpura, Sargodha, Karachi and Multan posted victories in the ongoing National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) T-20 Blind Cricket Trophy 2022 Grade-2in Multan. Shiekhopura beat Quetta by 8 wickets:  (Venue: Sports Complex Stadium) In the morning, Quetta won the toss and elected to bat first. Quetta set the competitive total of 217 runs on the board for the loss of 5 wickets in stipulated 18 overs. Niamat ullah was the top scorer with 110 runs and Shaharyar made 21 runs. Sanwal took 1 wicket for Sheikhopura.  In reply, Shieikhopura chased down the target of 218 runs with ease in 17.1 overs by losing their 2 wickets. Sanwal Shahzada played a superb innings of unbeaten 114* runs.  He was the highest scorer and Mohsin remained not out on 30* runs. Talib and Shahid fetched 1 wicket each for Quetta. Sargodha in reply reached the small target of 126 runs in 17.1 overs by losing their 6 wickets. Zain Ashraf was the star batsman for Sargodha he scored 50 runs and Tanweer chipped in with 24 runs. Rasheed Akbar took 1 wicket. In reply, Karachi achieved the target of 186 runs rapidly in 16 overs for the loss of 4 wickets.  Abdul Wahab Khan was the star batsman, he scored 54 runs and Jandal khan made unbeaten 52* runs for Karachi. Sports Bulletin Report Sylhet (Bangladesh) Omaima Sohail’s maiden five-wicket haul led Pakistan to a five-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the 21st fixture of the ACC Women’s Asia Cup at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium (SICS) on Tuesday afternoon. This was Pakistan’s fifth win from six outings in the tournament. The win also confirms Pakistan finished second on the points table with 10 points. They will now take on Sri Lanka – who finished the table on third position in the second semi-final, which will take place on Thursday, 13 October. The match will be broadcast live on PTV Sports. The toss will take place at 1200 PKT and first ball will be bowled at 1230 PKT. The first semi-final will be played between India and Thailand on the same day in the morning. Earlier, in today’s encounter, the toss was won by Sri Lanka and opted to bat first, after the toss was delayed and match begun after an hour from scheduled time due to rain and wet outfield. The right-arm off-spinner Omaima – who had taken seven wickets from 36 T20Is before today’s match was introduced in the bowling by the captain as a fifth bowler and came into bowl in the eighth over of the innings. She got the wicket in her first over, getting Nilakshi de Silva for naught. In her next two overs, she bagged two wickets each in an over and ended up with match figures of 4-0-13-5. The spin twin of Nida Dar and Tuba Hasan shared three wickets between them, Sri Lanka were dismissed for 112 in the 19th over. For Sri Lanka, their captain Chamari Athapaththu top-scored with a 26-ball 41, which included nine fours. In reply, the opening pair of Muneeba Ali and Sidra Amin provided a 28-run start in 4.1 overs. After the departure of Sidra for run-a-ball 13 which included two fours, Pakistan batters continue to return back to the hut as Pakistan at one point were struggling at 51 for four in 9.2 overs. Sports Bulletin Report Rawalpindi: AFT Southern Punjab opener Zain Abbas scored his seventh career century and mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed recorded his second 10-wicket haul in a match for Sindh as their Quaid-e-Azam Trophy encounter entered into an exciting stage at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. Zain, playing his 74th first-class match and starting the day at 48 in AFT Southern Punjab’s 77 for three, was dismissed after scoring 138 as his side collected 283 after having already secured a 97-run first innings lead. When stumps were drawn for the third day, Sindh, chasing 381 for victory, were 57 for no wicket. Saim Ayub (43 not out) and Khurram Manzoor (14 not out) will resume their innings on Wednesday morning, with their side needing another 324 for an outright win. Zain batted for just under six hours during which he received 195 balls out of which 13 were converted into fours and two into sixes. Zain added 85 runs for the fifth wicket with Umar Siddiq (42) after AFT Southern Punjab had slipped to 114 for four. Sports Bulletin Report RAWALPINDI:-Faizan Riaz did one better than the previous innings as he put Northern in a commanding position against Balochistan on the second day of the third round Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium in Abbottabad. 34-year-old Faizan, who had scored 119 in his only innings in the second round match against Sindh, scored an unconquered 201 after starting the day at 100 in Northern’s overnight score of 347 for three. Faizan’s over six hours of batting during which he faced 216 balls and hit 27 fours and a six, meant Northern were able to declare their first innings at 520 for eight. When play ended, Balochistan were tottering at 108 for four with Haris Sohail (26) and Hussain Hussain (9) at the crease. Captain Asad Shafiq scored 53 before becoming one of the two victims of Kashif Ali (two for 35). Balochistan had something to cheer on Monday when their 31-year-old fast bowler Taj Wali completed a five-wicket haul for the 19th time in his 71-match career. Taj, who yesterday had figures of three for 60, finished with figures of 23-2-91-5. BIPIN DANI Sri Lankan team won the Asia Cup in the UAE last month and the felicitation of the team members will also continue in Australia, where the team is now to participate in the T-20I World Cup. The Champions of Asia will be felicitated on October 11.      "It is an official function of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and hosted by the Sri Lanka Cricket Melbourne Association, Roshan D'Cruz, one of the committee members of the association said over the telephone. "Malik Zaveer, who is SLC's representative in Australia has invited the entire Sri Lankan team here and a Gala Dinner is hosted". "It will be an opportunity for the Sri Lankans living in Australia to interact with the Champions and seek their autographs", D'Cruz added. "We have also invited Mahela Jayawarndene, who is the consultant for the team and also Lasith Malinga, the former fast bowler, who has been working with the promising fast bowlers". Malinga is believed to have his second home in Australia and has just returned from Sri Lanka. The invitees have been asked to come in formal dress code. Felicitating the Sri Lankan team is the only official function for the team before and during the World Cup.  There was also a special plan to felicitate Maheesh Theekshana on last Thursday (October 6). The past students of Colombo's St. Benedict's College, who are now living in Australia had organised a felicitation function for Maheesh Theekshana, who also studied in the saame college. However, the ceremony had to be cancelled at the last minute, it is learnt. 

Sports Bulletin Report RAWALPINDI:-Northern batters Mohammad Huraira and Faizan Riaz struck sparkling centuries against Balochistan to help their side reach 347 for three on the first day of the third round of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy fixture at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium on Sunday. The 20-year-old Huraira struck his fourth career century in 14th match when he was dismissed after scoring 169, while 34-year-old Faizan was batting on 100 – his 15th century in 89 matches – as the two batters added 172 runs for the third wicket. Huraira struck 23 fours and a six in a 223-ball innings, while Faizan has faced 119 balls off which 14 have been converted into fours. Huraira had earlier added 109 runs for the first wicket with Abdul Faseeh (34) and 34 runs for the second wicket with Umar Amin (22). For Balochistan, left-arm fast bowler Taj Wali took three wickets for 60 runs. Central Punjab’s right-arm spinner Usama Mir recorded career best figures of 28.4-8-91-6 to spin out Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for 220 in 77.4 overs at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. The defending champions were cruising nicely at 93 for no loss, before the introduction of the 26-year-old turned the innings on its head as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa lost their all 10 wickets for 127 runs. Openers Waqar Ahmed (58) and Sahibzada Farhan (44) had provided a flying start to their side, but the top and middle-order collapsed like a house of cards against Usama. Only No.3 batter Nabi Gul (40) and No.8 batter Sajid Khan (21) offered some resistance. When play ended on day one, Central Punjab were 24 for no loss. faisal Islamabad:-The 13th National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) T-20 Blind Cricket Trophy Grade-2 will start from Monday (October 10, 2022) at Multan, as 8 teams will fight for top honour during the 5-day fixture. According to an official of Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC), the final will be played on October 14, 2022. Multan, Karachi, Hyderabad, Quetta, Sargodha Abbottabad, Faisalabad and Sheikopura will take part in the premier national tournament of blind cricket. Teams have been divided into two following pools. Multan, Hyderabad, Sargodha and Faisalabad are in Group A while Karachi, Quetta, Abbottabad and Sheikopura are in Group B. Matches of the tournament will be played at Sports Complex Cricket Ground Multan and MC Cricket Ground Multan simultaneously. The inauguration ceremony of the said event will take place on dated 10th October 2022 at 11:00 AM at Sports Complex Cricket Ground Multan. The semi-finals and the final will also be played on the same field at Sports Complex Cricket Ground Multan on the 13th and 14th October 2022 respectively. Sports Bulletin Report Christchurch (New Zealand):-Pakistan register second back-to-back victory in the ongoing Tri-Nation cricket series after thrashing hosts New Zealand by 6 wickets, as blistering Babar Azam innings of 79 not out (53 balls) looked enough to reach the target at Hagley Oval cricket ground Christchurch, New Zealand on Saturday night. It is pertinent to mention here that Green Shirts had defeated Bangladesh by 21 runs last Friday at the same venue. Pakistan opened their innings with skipper Babar Azam and wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan to get the target of 148 runs. Mohammad Rizwan, who had earned man of the match award a day before against Bangladesh by scoring 78 runs not out in an inning, tried his best to settle his feet on the pitch but he could score only 4 runs after wasting 12 deliveries on the bowling of Tim Southee and was judged LBW. Babar Azam was in nice touch and played strokes all sides of the ground, as he faced 53 balls and hit 10 boundaries. Bowling allrounder Shahdab Khan scored 34 runs in 22 balls and aggregated 61 runs for the 3rd wicket partnership with skipper Babar Azam. SPORTS BULLETIN REPORT Sylhet (Bangladesh):-Pakistan women got their ACC Women’s Asia Cup campaign back on track when they recorded only their third victory over India women in 13 T20Is and 24 internationals overall in Sylhet on Friday. Nida Dar led the batting charge when she returned unbeaten on a whirlwind 37-ball 56 not out to help Pakistan collect 137 for six. She then claimed two wickets for 23 runs and combined with Nashra Sandhu (three for 30) and Sadia Iqbal (two for 24) to dismiss a formidable and in-form India for 124 in 19.4 overs, who needed 18 runs off the last over. Pakistan’s 13 runs victory on Friday was their first over India since March 2016 when they won in Delhi by two runs on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern Method. Pakistan’s other win over India was in Galle in 2012, when they won by one run. Both these victories came in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cups, while Pakistan is still searching for their maiden ODI win in 11 encounters. Nida was at her brilliant best, when she clubbed five fours and a six, and put on 76 runs for the fourth wicket with Bismah Maroof after Pakistan had slipped to 33 for three after electing to bat first. Bismah was dismissed in the 16th over after hitting two fours in her 35-ball innings, but Nida carried the innings and helped Pakistan collect 26 runs off the last four overs. Openers Muneeba Ali (17) and Sidra Amin (11) had provided a solid start when they raced to 26 for no loss in 4.2 overs, before both departed in the space of eight balls. However, Nida and Bismah, followed by a brief run-a-ball innings by Aliya Riaz and Ayesha Naseem helped Pakistan reach 137 for six. The target was expected to be an easy and straightforward one for an experienced India, but Nashra, Nida and Sadia had other ideas as the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 runners-up were dismissed for 124 with two balls to spare. The three bowlers not only bowled intelligently and smartly, they were very well backed by their fielders, who held almost all the catches and didn’t concede extra runs in the outfield. The only blemish in the innings was when wicketkeeper Muneeba failed to stump the dangerous Smriti Mandhana, but the let-off didn’t prove costly as the opener was dismissed shortly afterwards by Nashra, who had earlier accounted for Sabbhineni Meghana. Nashra’s third victim was Radha Yadav. Nida’s scalps included Jemimah Rodrigues (2) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (12), while Sadiq Iqbal accounted for Deepti Sharma (16) and Richa Ghosh (26). Pakistan’s victory over India is also commendable after they had suffered a four-wicket defeat against Thailand on Thursday. But in today’s performance, Bismah Maroof’s side proved yesterday’s defeat was nothing but a surprise and a bad day in the office for them.
