ICC names Dettol as hygiene partner for T20 World Cup 2021

Dubai (October 21, 2021):-As millions of fans across the globe eagerly awaited the return of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the International Cricket Council and Dettol have joined forces to ensure world-class protection across the tournament with the power-brand announced as the Official Hygiene Partner.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 is hosted by the BCCI and is taking place in the UAE and Oman from 17 October. The partnership will see Dettol provide world class disinfection products for thousands of cricket fans across the tournament.

West Indies Women to play three ODIs in Karachi

KARACHI (October 21, 2021):-West Indies Women will visit Pakistan for three One-Day Internationals in November. Karachi’s iconic National Stadium will host the matches on 8, 11 and 14 November, following which both sides will travel to Zimbabwe for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier to be held from 21 November to 5 December.
As part of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s efforts to increase the reach and viewership of the women’s sport, the three ODIs – which will start at 1000 – will be live-streamed through PCB’s YouTube channel around the world.
This will be Pakistan women’s third bilateral series in 2021 after they toured South Africa in January-February and West Indies in June-July. Stafaine Taylor’s West Indies will arrive in Karachi on 1 November for what is a reciprocal tour.
The top three of the 10 teams will qualify for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022, which will be played in New Zealand.
PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja: “We are delighted to announce the West Indies women’s tour to Pakistan in November. This will be a great series for the promotion, publicity and growth of women’s cricket in Pakistan, besides also providing both sides excellent opportunity to prepare for the World Cup qualifier.
“West Indies women’s tour will be followed by their men’s side who will visit Pakistan for three ODIs and three T20Is in December. So, the Pakistan cricket fans can brace for some exciting and entertaining cricket in women’s and men’s cricket later this year.”
Meanwhile, the national women’s selection committee – which includes Urooj Mumtaz (the chair) and Asmavia Iqbal – has also announced an 18-strong squad for the upcoming three ODIs and the World Cup Qualifier.
Batter Javeria Khan will lead the contingent, which has been devised after considering the performances on the last two tours and the recent Pakistan Cup Women’s One-Day.

ISLAMABAD (October 20, 2021):-Sri Lanka beat low ranked Ireland by 70 runs in the ICC Men’s T 20 World cup 2021 match at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
Sri Lankan team scored 171 for 7 runs in 20 overs fixture. Lankan middle order batter Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva was top scorer in the match. He scored 70 runs in 47 balls. He knocked 10 fours and a solitary six. Opener right handed batter Pathum Nissanka played 61 runs innings in only 47 delivers .He smashed 6 fours and single six while Lankan Captain Dasun Shanaka make 21 runs in 11 balls.
Ireland’s passer Josh Little picked up 4 wickets for 24 runs. Al rounder Paul Stirling took 1 wicket and conceded just 4 runs while Mark Adair grabbed 2 for 35.
In reply, Ireland’s cricket team got all out in 101 runs in the chase of 172 runs target. Ireland’s batter Andy Balbirnie scored 41 runs in39 balls and hit two huge sixes and four. Lankan bowler Maheesh Theekshana got 3 wickets for 17. Lahiru Kumara, Chamika Karunaratne took two wickets each.

LAHORE (October 20, 2021):-Balochistan captain Imran Butt and Central Punjab opener Abid Ali made centuries in their sides’ matches against Sindh and Southern Punjab on the opening day of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2021-22.
Imran smashed 104 off 222 to record his sixth first-class century at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad. The right-hander knitted a solid 194-run stand with his fellow opener Imam-ul-Haq, who missed out on a century by three runs, as he was dismissed by Asad Shafiq after scoring 97 off 166 (10 fours and two sixes).
Balochistan ended the day on 253 for the loss of four wickets. Abdul Wahid Bangalzai (32 not out) and Ayaz Tasawar (0 not out) will resume the innings tomorrow. Sindh’s Mir Hamza, Mohammad Asghar and Mohammad Hasnain were the other bowlers to take a wicket each.
As Balochistan had crossed the 250-run mark, they gathered two batting points for the innings, while Sindh got one bowling point for dismissed four batters inside the first 100 overs.
Abid’s unbeaten 132 was the highlight of the first day of the Punjab Derby at Multan Cricket Stadium as Central Punjab ended the day at a strong 289 for three. They gathered two batting points.
Abid faced 249 balls and despatched 22 of them towards boundary. Iftikhar carried his impressive form with the bat in red-ball cricket and smashed three fours and a six as he remained unbeaten on 50 off 106. He will resume Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s innings on 240 for five from 81 overs with Khalid Usman (five not out) on Thursday.

Netherlands batters post 164 for 4 runs on scoreboard, as their Opener Max O Dowd played a superb innings and scored 70 runs in 56 balls. He hit 4 fours and solitary six. Colin Ackermann added 35 runs in the team total. He faced 32 deliveries while Edwards scored 21 runs after wasting 11 balls .He smashed couple of fours and one six. Dubai (October 20, 2021):-The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 has approved Akeal Hosein as a replacement for Fabian Allen in the West Indies squad.
The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 has approved Akeal Hosein as a replacement for Fabian Allen in the West Indies squad.
Left-arm spinner Hosein, who has played nine ODIs and six T20Is, was named as a replacement after Allen was ruled out due to an ankle injury. Hosein was a reserve as per the allowance for teams to travel with extra players in view of COVID-19 quarantine requirements.
The replacement for Hosein in the reserves list will be the uncapped Gudakesh Motie.
The replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the replacement player can be officially added to the squad.

Dubai (October 20, 2021):-Eoin Morgan says England are excited by the challenge of adding the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 title to the 50-over crown they claimed two years ago.
Eoin Morgan says England are excited by the challenge of adding the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 title to the 50-over crown they claimed two years ago.
Morgan led England to a memorable first ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2019 on home soil and they are among the favourites to land the T20 equivalent in UAE and Oman this year.
They are currently ranked No.1 in the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s T20I team rankings and boast an experienced squad, with only Tom Curran aged under 28.
England have lost just one of their last 11 T20I series and even that was a marginal 3-2 defeat to India earlier this year, while they arrive off the back of home victories against Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
Expectations are high then, and Morgan believes they have what it takes to replicate their 2019 50-over success.
“It would be unbelievably special if we managed to do it (win another ICC world title) in three years,” he said.
“I think the group of players we have had for the past five or six years and some new really talented younger guys, makes a composition of the squad extremely strong.
“Playing away from home creates challenges, and for the first time since 2016 we are going into a tournament where we haven’t been favourites.
“But these are challenges we are really looking forward to.”
England are joined in Group 1 of the Super 12 stage by rivals Australia, defending champions West Indies and the ever-dangerous South Africa, while two teams from Round 1 will complete the six-team group.
England begin against West Indies in Dubai on Saturday but lost their opening warm-up game against India by six wickets.
Morgan wouldn’t be drawn on wider team news but did say that Liam Livingstone’s finger injury sustained against Virat Kohli’s side was not serious.
The Lancashire all-rounder left the field after dropping Ishan Kishan on the boundary against India on Monday.
“Liam is fine and fully fit for the start of the tournament,” confirmed the captain.
“We have no other problems. None, touch wood, so far.”
Morgan said he would not necessarily play in every England match, suggesting he will drop himself if his poor recent form continues.
Morgan averaged just 11.08 in the recent IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders and says he will not stand in the way of the team if his form continues to be a problem.
"I've been short on runs but my captaincy has been pretty good,” he said.
"I wouldn't be standing here if I hadn't come out of every bad run of form that I've ever had.
"The nature of T20 cricket and where I bat means I always have to take high-risk options. I've come to terms with that."

Opener Mohammad Naim scored 64 runs after facing 50 deliveries. He smashed 4 long sixe sand 3 fours. Al rounder Shakib Ul Hassan played a brilliant innings and added 40 runs in his team’s total. Scotland’s skipper Kyle Coetzer won the battle of coin and decided to bat first. Scotland batters set a 166 target on the score board after losing 9 wickets. Richie Berrington played brilliant innings and scored 70 runs in only 49 balls. He smashed 3 fours and 3 sixes. Wicket keeper batsman Matthew Cross scored 45runs in 36 balls including hit pair of sixes and fours while George Munsey made 15 runs in 10 balls. Papua New Guinea’s bowler Kabua Morea took 4 wicket ant conceded 31 runs in his four overs cotta while Chad Soper grabbed 3 wickets for 24 runs.

Kashmir win the title of PAF T20 Blind Cricket Champions Trophy

ISLAMABAD (October 19, 2021):- Kashmir have lifted the title of PAF T20 Cricket Champions Trophy for Blinds after beating hosts Islamabad by 11 runs in the final at E-9 cricket ground on Tuesday.
Islamabad won the toss and elected to bowl first. Kashmir scored 220 for the loss of four wickets. Nisar was the top scorer with 108 runs. In reply, Islamabad could score 209 runs in allotted 20 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Kashmir won the final by 11 runs. Ayub Khan scored 88 runs. Nisar Ali was awarded player of the match.
In closing ceremony Chief Guest Air Commodore Mutahir Ul Islam SI (M) Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Admin) distributed Trophies and Prizes among the players. Idreess from Ajk was best player in B1 Catagory, Anis Javed from Islamabad was best player in B2 and Mohammad Akram from Gujranwala was best player in B3 Category. Atiq ur Rehman from Gujranwala declared best wicket keeper of the tournament.
