Blind Cricket: Sindh and KPK wins their matches
SB News KARACHI (February 13, 2020):-Sindh and Khyber Pakhtoon Kawa (KPK) have won their match in the Blind Cricket Super League One Day Tournament at two different venues of Karachi City. Islamabad Vs KPK: (Venue: Rashid Latif Cricket Academy, Karachi) Islamabad won the toss and decided to bat first. Riding on the tons of Mohammad Safdar 112 off 61 balls featuring 13 (4’s) and 1 six and Mohammad Rashid’s 103 off 56 balls with the help of 17 boundaries, Islamabad made mammoth 440 for 7 runs. Anees Javed also played exceptionally well for his 95 runs off 60 balls, missed his century just by mere 5 runs. For KPK Riasat Khan took 2 wickets while Matiullah, Abdul Rasheed, Mohammad Akram and Mohammad Ali claimed a wicket a piece. The target of 441 runs, apparently an unsurmountable task, made easy by the veterans Mohammad Akram and Tahir Ali. Mohammad Akram played another gem of an innings, he got out after scoring 211 runs off 93 balls featuring 37 boundaries. Tahir Ali kept his head cool after the departure of Mohammad Akam and took his team home with unbeaten 78 runs. KPK chased the target in 37.4 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Ahtesham, Safdar, Idrees and Kamran shared a wicket each. Result: KPK won by 4 wickets Man of the Match: Mohammad Akram ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Balochistan Vs Sindh (Venue: PAF Faisal Airbase Ground) Event’s 8th match was played between Balochistan and Sindh. Sindh outplayed rocking Balochistan by 78 runs. Sindh batted first after winning toss and made huge total of 428 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 40 overs. Sanauallah played an incredible knock of unbeaten 235 runs off 132 balls, he hit 29 boundaries and 3 big sixes. Two double centuries were scored today, each in both matches. Sanauallah became the first to score double ton in this event. For Sindh the 2nd highest scorer was Shahzaib Hyder, he made 52 runs not out. Sajid Nawaz was the only successful bowler for Balochistan, he took 2 wickets. Balochitsan in reply lost early wickets, Akmal Hayyat, Badar Munir and Sajid Nawaz fell cheaply. Shahzaib Hayder with deadly bowling ran through the batting order of Balochistan, he took 4 wickets. Balochistan was in deep trouble as half of their side was sent back to pavilion at the score of 73 runs. Thereafter, Mohammad Usman and Mohammad Arsalan rescued the sinking ship and together knitted 233 runs partnership for 6th wicket, but wasn’t enough to reach the uphill target. Mohammad Usman made 129 runs off 81 balls and Mohammad Arsalan scored unbeaten 89 runs. Balochistan made 350 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 40 overs. Blind Cricket: Balochistan and Islamabad claim wins
SB News KARACHI (February 11, 2020):-Balochistan and Islamabad defeated their opponent teams in the 3rd PPL (One-day) Blind Cricket Super League 2020 in Karachi on Tuesday. Day-2 Match No 1: KPK Vs Balochistan: (Venue: Rashid Latif Cricket Academy, Karachi) In the morning, Balochistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. KPK got off to the flying start, its first wicket fell in the shape of Matiullah at the score of 117 runs in 12th over, Matiuallh scored 47 runs. Tahir Ali 85 off 59 balls, Riasat Khan’s 62 off 38 balls and Muhammad Akram’s 49 runs off 28 balls kept accelerating the run rate and remained more than 10 runs per over till 28th over of the innings. After their departure, Balochistan squeezed KPK run rate and restricted them to 371 runs all out in 39.3 overs. Badar Munir took 3 wickets for 80 runs in 8 overs and Shafiullah was bit more expensive, he took 2 wickets by giving away 102 runs in 8 overs. Balochistan Captain, Badar Munir opened the innings with Akmal Hayat. Akmal couldn’t excel and was bowled by Muhammad Ijaz after scoring 8 runs. Sajid Nawaz was dismissed after scoring 20 runs. But Badar played splendidly and his 63 balls 121 runs innings, featuring 19 (4’s) and 1 six took the score of his team to 218 runs in 19.3 overs. Thereafter, Safiuallah’s 104 runs innings and Ayub Khan’s watchful 42 runs not out enabled his team to cross the line with 32 balls to spare. Balochitsan won the game in 35th over for the loss of 4 wickets. Matiullah and Muhammad Ijaz were the only bowlers to take a wicket each. Result: Balochistan won by 6 wickets Man of the Match: Badar Munir Day-2 Match-2: Punjab Vs Islamabad (Venue: PAF Faisal Airbase Ground, Karachi) Punjab decided to bat first after winning the toss. Punjab team couldn’t accelerate the innings, Iftikhar Tiger 22, Fakhar Abbas 0 and Naseeb Ullah’s 42 balls 32 runs innings didn’t provide the boost. Moeen Aslam stood tall from one end, he made 130 runs off 90 balls and Mohsin Khan 45 runs off 32 balls helped Punjab to score 347 runs all out in 39.4 overs. Muhammad Safdar was the star for Islamabad, he took 4 wickets by conceding only 37 runs. Islamabad chased the target in 34.3 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Muhammad Rashid who was dismissed cheaply the other day, made his presence felt with scintillating 120 runs innings off 60 balls featuring 16 fours and 2 sixes. Mohammad Ayyaz and Safdar supported him well with 38 and 34 runs respectively. At the end, Anees Javed played the cautious Captain’s knock of unbeaten 45 runs to guide his team home with 5.3 overs to spare. Yasir Malik, Zafar Iqbal and Fakhar Abbas shared a wicket a piece. Bahawalpur lift the title of NBP T-20 Blind’s Cricket Trophy 2019
  By Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD (December 29, 2019):-Bahawalpur on Sunday clinched the title of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) T-20 Blind’s Cricket Trophy 2019 third times in a row after threshing Peshawar in the final by 7 wickets at Dring Cricket Stadium, Bahawalpur. Hosts Bahawalpur won the toss and opted to bowl first. Sanaullah and Haroon Khan opened the innings for Peshawar. Peshawar made a brisk start and made 66 runs in first 6 overs, Sanaullah played-on a ball which hit on his face. He got out after scoring 57 runs off 37 balls. Haroon Khan got retired hurt after scoring 55 runs. Peshawar scored 197 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 4 wickets.  Shahzaib and Ijaz shared one wicket each. Bahawalpur in reply, chased the target 198 in 17.1 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Moeen Aslam again shined with the bat and made sparkling unbeaten 126* off 56 balls featuring 11 boundaries and 4 sixes. Rahid Ullah and Mohsin Khan claimed 1 wicket each. Bahawalpur won the final by 7 wickets. Moeen Aslam was judged best players of the final match. Eight (8) teams including Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Okara, Gujranwala, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Peshawar and Bahawalpur participated in the event that was played from 25th to 29thDecember at Bahawalpur. Islamabad, AJK, Peshawar and Bahawalpur were the 4 semifinalists. While the final was played between Peshawar and Bahawalpur that won by Bahawalpur.  Shozeb Saeed, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur, Syed Sultan Shah, Chairman Pakistan Blind Cricket Council, Dawood Mehmood Malik Regional Chief National Bank of Pakistan were the guests and distributed prizes amongst the players. NBP T20 Blind’s Cricket, Hosts Bahawalpur and Peshawar stormed into the final
  By Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD (December 28, 2019):- Hosts Bahawalpur and Peshawar stormed into the final of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) T-20 Blind’s Cricket Trophy (Grade-1) after winning semifinals at Dring Cricket Stadium Bahawalpur on Saturday. Final will be played on Sunday at same venue. 1st Semifinal: Peshawar beat AJK Peshawar beat Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in a sensational finish. Peshawar reached the target on the last ball of the innings to jump into final.   In the morning, AJK won the toss and decided to bat first. AJK riding on the special ton of Nisar Ali posted 222 runs on the board for the loss of 6 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Nisar Ali made 105 off 54 balls featuring 20 fours. Faisal Mehmood also played well for his 60 runs off 39 balls. For Peshawar, Mohsin Khan was the successful bowler, who took 3 wickets while Shafiullah, Haseenullah and Haroon Khan claimed 1 wicket each. Peshawar started well and both openers Sanaullah Khan and Haroon Khan shared century opening stand. Haroon Khan’s wicket opened door of fight back to AJK, he was bowled by Arfan Majeed after scoring 58 runs. Sanaullah’s 86 runs off 46 balls helped Peshawar to creep near the target but his wicket fetched another twist in the game. But Mohsin Khan’s 31 balls 51 runs enabled his team to cross the line on the last ball of the innings in a nail biting finish. Arfan Majeed took 2 wickets and Idrees Saleem claimed one. Result: Peshawar won by 6 wickets Man of the Match: Mohsin Khan Second Semifinal: Bahawalpur beat Islamabad Islamabad won the toss and put Bahawalpur into bat. Islamabad put tremendous pressure in first 6 overs of the game. Islamabad dismissed openers Moeen Aslam and Mohammad Ijaz cheaply they made 4 runs and 12 runs respectively. Mohammad Ayyaz also got out 14 runs. Thereafter, Mohammad Rashid and Zafar Iqbal played exceptionally well and built 122 runs partnership for 4th wicket and took their team out of whirlpool. Mohammad Rashid made 77 runs off 33 balls and Zafar Iqbal scored 76 off 38 balls. Mohammad Daniyal scored 14 runs and Shahzaib made 10 runs. Bahawalpur in their 20 overs made 264 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Anees Javed, Yasir Andleeb, Hasnain Shamim took a wicket a piece. NBP T20 Blind’s Cricket (Grade-I): Bahawalpur, Peshawar, Islamabad and AJK reach in the semifinals
    By Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD (December 27, 2019):- Bahawalpur, Peshawar, Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) reached in the semifinals of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) T-20 Blind’s Cricket Trophy (Grade-1) after winning their matches played at Bahawalpur on Friday. The both semifinals will be played on Saturday at same venue, as 1st semifinal will be played between Peshawar and AJK while 2nd semifinal will be played between Bahawalpur and Islamabad. Day-3, match 1:-Bahawalpur Vs Okara:  (Venue: Dring Cricket Stadium, Bahawalpur) Bahawalpur overpowered Okara by six wickets. In the morning, Bahawalpur won the toss and put Okara into bat. Badar Munir got out early thereafter Okara innings didn’t take off.  Okara posted 128 runs for loss of 6 wickets in allotted 18 overs. Match was reduced to 18 overs a side due to dense fog in the morning. Iftikhar Tiger roared with the bat, he made 50 runs. Usman took 2 wickets and Shahzaib claimed 1 wicket. Bahawalpur chased the target of 129 runs in 14.2 overs for the loss of 4wickets. Babar remained unbeaten on 40* runs and Moeen Aslam’s was dismissed on 39.Badar and Fakhar Abbass took a wicket a piece. Lahore Captain Matiullah once again excelled and made 114 runs off 47 balls and Salman contributed with 23 runs. For Karachi, Shair Ali and Tahir Ali shared one wicket each. Karachi in reply made 172 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs.  Waliullah made 73 runs and Tahir Ali scored 26 runs. Kamran and Karamat took a wicket a piece. Day-2, match-1:-Bahawalpur Vs AJK:  (Venue: Dring Cricket Stadium, Bahawalpur) Bahawalpur sank Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in a tight finish on Thursday, as Moeen Aslam played a calculated innings of 86 runs to guide his side home in the last over of the innings. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, AJK posted161 runs for loss of 2 wickets in allotted 15 overs on the board. Match was reduced to 15 overs a side due to fog in the morning. Nisar Ali again contributed with the bat, he made 79* runs off (45) balls, Tehseen B1 also scored 50 runs off (33) balls. Mujeeb ur Rehman was the only bowler to claim a single wicket. Bahawalpur chased the target of 162 for the loss of 2 wickets in last over of the innings. Moeen Aslam’s 86* runs innings consumed 43 balls while Mohammad Rashid was dismissed on 35 runs were main contributors. Iftikhar Tiger got out after scoring 50 runs. Gujranwala, in reply could able to post 150 runs in 15 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Mohammad Akram scored 41 runs. Iftikhar Tiger took 2 wickets. Okara registered its first win in the tournament. Matiullah scored 77 runs off (45) balls and Kamran made 17.  Mohsin Khan was the star with the ball, he took 4 wickets, while Rahid Ullah and Haroon Khan took 1 wicket each. Peshawar in reply, reached home in 14 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Haroon Khan and Safiullah made 47 and 44 runs respectively. Matiullah and Salman took a wicket a piece. Abdullah Asjad ISLAMABAD (December 25, 2019):-Besides hosts Bahawalpur, Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK), Islamabad and Peshawar have won their matches in the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) T20 Blind Cricket Trophy (Grade-1) after beating their respective their opponents at two different venues on Wednesday. Day-1, Game-1  Bahawalpur Vs Gujranwala:  (Venue: Dring Cricket Stadium, Bahawalpur) Bahawalpur whipped Gujranwala in 1st match of the event. Mohammad Rashid’s 115 runs off 65 balls helped Bahawalpur to win by 76 runs. In the cool and breezy morning here in Bahawalpur, Gujranwala won the toss and decided to bowl first. But this decision didn’t work for them as Bahawalpur made 236 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Rashid their formidable batsmen opened the innings and scored a ton while Zafar Iqbal was the other top scorer with 46 runs. Gujranwala in reply made 160 for the loss of 9 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Mohammad Akram made 84 runs off 57 balls. Babar Ali and Sajid Nawaz picked three wickets each and Mohammad Ijaz claimed 2 wickets. Result: Bahawalpur won by 76 runs Man of the Match: Mohammad Rashid Day-1, Game-2  AJK Vs Okara (Venue: Saqid Public School Cricket Ground, Bahawalpur) AJK defeated Okara by 30 runs and successfully defended the low total. Okara won the toss and put AJK to bat first. AJK made slow start but in later half recovered it by the hard hitting of Nisar Ali. AJK made 193 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 5. Nisar Ali played the captain’s knock of 110 runs off 64 balls. Okara in reply got the big thunderbolt in the shape of Badar Munir’s wicket. He was bowled by Mohammad Jameel without opening its account. Thereafter, AJK tighten the grip and didn’t allow Okara to come close to the target. Okara made 163 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Iftikhar Tiger made 62 runs. Mohammad Jameel claimed 3 wickets and Nisar Ali took 2 wickets. Result: AJK won by 30 runs Man of the Match: Nisar Ali Day-1, Game-3  Islamabad vs Lahore: (Venue: Dring Cricket Stadium, Bahawalpur) Lahore won the toss and has been the case since last 2 matches decided to bowl first. Islamabad with the help of Anees Javed and Ayub Khan two centuries piled up 282 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Anees Javed remained unbeaten on 138 off 68 balls and Ayub Khan scored 104 runs off 48 balls. Kamran and Salman claimed a wicket a piece. Lahore tried well to reach the target but fell 17 runs short of the target. Matiullah played the brilliant innings of 126 runs off 65 balls. Lahore in stipulated 20 overs made 265 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Anees, Hasnain and Akmal claimed wicket a piece. Result: Islamabad won by 17 runs Man of the Match: Anees Javed Day-1, Game-4  Karachi Vs Peshawar: (Venue: Saqid Public School Cricket Ground, Bahawalpur) Peshawar beat Karachi by 9 wickets. After winning the toss, Karachi decided to bat first and made just 129 for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Tahir was their top scorer with 62 runs. For Peshawar, Mohsin Khan took 3 wickets and Rahid Ullah claimed 2. Peshawar in reply chased down the target in only 11 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. Attock lift the NBP T-20 Blind Cricket Grade-2 Trophy
Abdullah Asjad ISLAMABAD (December 22, 2019):-Hosts Attock have won the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) T-20 Blind Cricket Trophy (Grade-2) after beating Multan by six wickets in the final at Attock Cricket Stadium, Attock on Sunday.  Attock won the toss and opted to bowl first. Mohammad Safdar from Multan played the extraordinary unbeaten innings of 139 runs off 66 balls and helped Multan to post 227 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Noman claimed 1 wicket. Attock in reply, chased the target on 228 in 18.5 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Ahtesham-ul-Haq made 74 runs off 39 balls and Bilal Sarwar made 70 runs. Ihsan and Akbar took a wicket a piece for Multan. Atesham ul Haq declared best player of the final. Quetta, Attock, Multan and Abbottabad were the 4 semifinalists. While the Final was played between Attock and Multan and Attock clinched the trophy.

SB Report ISLAMABAD:-Besides hosts Attock, Quetta, Abbottabad and Multan qualified for the semifinals on NBP National Blind’s Cricket Trophy Grade II after beating winning their matches at two different venues. Now,  the   1st semifinal will be played between Attock and Quetta while 2nd semifinal will take place between Abbottabad and Multan at Attock Cricket Stadium Attock. Game 1:  Multan Vs Faisalabad: (Venue: Attock Cricket Stadium Attock) Faisalabad won the toss and decided to bowl first.
