BARI IMAM SCHOOL WIN AHC-PCB GIRLS CRICKET CUP
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-The Mashal Modal School Bari Imam (MMSBI) have won the 6th AHC-PCB Girls’ Cricket Cup after beating Islamabad Modal School for Girls (IMSG)’ F-6/1 here at F-9 Cricket ground on Wednesday, as the tournament was played under the banner of Australian High Commission (AHC) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that aimed to train the girls to enhance their game skills. In the final, IMSG scored 44 runs in 5 overs, as the Mashal School achieved their target in 4.4 overs. The four teams from different schools including Mashal Model School Bari Imam, SOS Children’s Village H-11, Islamabad Model School for Girls F-6/1 and Islamabad Model School for Girls I-9/1 Islamabad are the part of tournament. The girls attended a five-day coaching clinic in the lead-up to the competition conducted by PCB first class cricket coaches. On this occasion, Australia’s Chargé d’ Affaires, Bryce Hutchesson congratulated the girls and the schools on their participation and welcomed the continued support of the PCB for the annual AHC-PCB Girls’ Cricket Cup. “The Australian High Commission has been sponsoring girls’ cricket in Pakistan since 2016 to promote gender equality through sport. We began with a single annual tournament in Islamabad but have since expanded to Lahore and Karachi,” Hutchesson added. “Our countries share a passion for cricket, so we’re very pleased to support this event. Cricket and other sports can help tear down barriers and stereotypes. Every time these girls make some runs, take a wicket or hold a catch, they are taking a step towards greater equality,” he said. Hutchesson further said that High Commission was particularly happy to support the initiative during the Australian Cricket Team’s historic tour to Pakistan. “It’s an exciting time for cricket fans in both Australia and Pakistan. Cricket is one of the many bonds that bring our countries together,” he said.  The Head of Women’s Cricket at PCB, Tania Mallick said: “On the auspicious occasion of the International Women's Day yesterday, with the Australian Cricket men's team playing in Pakistan after decades – it is a privilege to in collaborate with the Australian High Commission to organise this cricket event for underprivileged girls.” “The Australian High Commission with the support of PCB always played a vital role in promoting women cricket and investing in the empowerment of women in Pakistan. Such events can play an important role in the development and promotion of women cricket. We look forward to further strengthening our relationship,” she added.
Jhelum Stallions claim the title of Urtasker Football Championship 2022
Abdullah Asjad ISLAMABAD:-Jhelum Stallions overcame The Markhors 2-1 on penalty kicks in the final to lift the title of the 6th Urtasker Football Championship 2022 that held at Zaraj Football Ground, Giga Mall Islamabad on Saturday. A-day soccer event was sponsored by Burj Yaqub Jhelum, and in collaboration with World Group & Leisure Leagues. There were 12 pool matches among 8 teams, and the qualifiers played the semifinals and final. The other teams included Pindi Badshah, Black Panther, Digital Squad, New Yorkers, Urtasker Hawks, and Urtasker United. Ch. Ghulam Ahmed Zamurrad (Chairman, Burj Yaqub, Jhelum) was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He appreciated the efforts of Urtasker to bring the game of football into the limelight and organized such a thrilling contest. He further said that these events were vital for improving mental and physical health. Omer Riaz (CEO, Urtasker) thanked Chairman Burj Yaqub for joining and promoting the game of football in Pakistan and letting the young players showcase their talent in team management, execution, and planning. They vowed to arrange more athletic events in the future to encourage the culture of sports in Pakistan.  Zeehsan Riaz (COO, Urtasker) expressed his gratitude towards the World Group and Leisure Leagues for their collaboration and support throughout the championship to make it a great success. Punjab Minister for Sports Rai Taimoor presents cash awards to wrestler Inam Butt
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE:-Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti awarded a cheque of rupees ten hundred thousand to Pakistan’s most celebrated wrestler Inam Butt, who won two back-to-back gold medals in Beach Wrestling World Series in Italy and Greece in September 2021, at National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday. Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan, Chief Sports Consultant SBP Hafeez Bhatti and other officials were also present on this occasion. Talking on this occasion, Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti appreciated the performance of ace wrestler Inam Butt saying that Inam once again made the entire nation proud by winning two consecutive gold medals in Beach Wrestling World Series in Italy and Greece last year. “Inam is our national hero and it’s our prime obligation to honour and encourage sports stars like him,” he added. Punjab Minister for Sports Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said: “Sports Board Punjab has always encouraged talented stars like Inam Butt. Inam is a great son of country. We are proud of Inam Butt, who also had clinched medals in Commonwealth Games, Asian Beach Games and World Wrestling Championship during his illustrious career”. Punjab Minister for Sports Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti urged the young athletes of the country to take inspiration from amazing achievements of Inam Butt. “Punjab government also extended every kind of cooperation to Pakistan’s special athlete Haider Ali and other players for their participation in Tokyo Olympic Games last year,” he added. Ali Suleman claims bronze medal in the World Rowing Virtual Indoor Championship
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-Top national Rower Ali Suleman has won the bronze medal in the World Rowing Virtual Indoor Championship in the Men’s Lightweight categories held at National Rowing Centre, University of the Punjab Lahore on Friday. According to an official of Pakistan Rowing Federation (PRF), national rowing players have won the bronze medal in light weight men’s and 8th position in the open weight men’s categories. Ali Suleman secured bronze medal in lightweight while Ahmad Aziz got 8th position in open weight category. Chairman PRF, Rizwan-ul-Haq applauded the performance of national players in the top international event. He also mentioned that new talent was enlightening the name of country at international level. “The players must be provided maximum available facilities in future, “he added. He also hailed the hard work of coach Abdul Rehman.

Pakistan Basketball Federation elects Mohammad Iftikhar its president for next 4 years

According to an official, POA representative Mohammad Jehangir Deputy Secretary General of Pakistan Olympics Association (POA) attended the meeting as observer. The house also constituted committees to look after the various affairs that needed immediate attention. RBS Diplomatic Football League restarts after Holidays break
Sports Bulletin ISLAMABAD:-The RBS Diplomatic Football League (DFL) restarted this week after the break for Christmas and New Year holidays. Eleven different diplomatic teams are participating this season in the league representing more than 28 countries involving ambassadors, diplomats and local staff of the embassies. The Saudi United Team and RBS Diplomatic Team  is on the top of the table with 10 points each ,while the Europe team is on the  third  position at the moment with each team playing four matches in the league. Other participating teams are Thailand Team A & B, Kazakhstan, Japan, Golden star, Gerry’s, Indonesia and Malaysia. The League is being organized Mubasher Sanjrani, former International player of Pakistan and member  Senate of Pakistan Football Development committed with title sponsorship from Royal Business Solutions (RBS), Marriot Hotel Islamabad  and powered by Gerry’s. The League matches will be played every weekend until the end of March 2022 in Islamabad. The Diplomatic Football league is one of the most anticipated Football league in Islamabad for the diplomatic community, which provide healthy activity to the participating teams along with positive soft image of friendly environment in Pakistan.

Shaheen Shah Afridi calls on IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Peshawar (Sports Report):-Superstar Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi called on Inspector General (IG) Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Moazzam Jahan Ansari in his office at Central Police Office Peshawar on Saturday. The IGP also offered to appoint Shaheen Shah Afridi as the brand ambassador of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Force for establishing close and cordial relations between the police and the people, which he gladly accepted as a great honor for him. ?
