Cricket News: Nahida Khan announces retirement from international cricket
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE:-Pakistan’s women cricketer Nahida Khan has decided to hang her shoes to close her 14 years cricket career after making her One Day International (ODI) debut in Bogra, Bangladesh against Sri Lanka on 7 February 2009. Also, Nahida represented Pakistan in three 50-over World Cups in 2013, 2017, and 2022, and in four T20 World Cups including 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018, as she Nahida was the only women cricket player from Balochistan to represent her country Pakistan.Nahida Khan said:“I am grateful to the Pakistan cricket board for the unwavering support I got throughout my career. I want to thank my family, teammates, coaches, and other officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board for their guidance and belief in my abilities. Pakistan to leave for Hong Kong tonight for Emerging Teams Asia Cup
“Players to approach each match with determination,” says Captain Fatima Sana Sports Bulletin ReportKARACHI:-Pakistan women’s cricket team will leave Karachi for Hong Kong to participate in an 8-nation ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup, which will be rolled into action from June 12 at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong.According to an official of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) media department, the squad will reach Hong Kong via Dubai. Green Shirts will compete with hosts Hong Kong, arch-rival India A, and Nepal in their Group fixtures of the T20 women’s cricket tournament. Pakistan will play their first match against Nepal. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals which will be played on 19 June, as the final will be played on June 21, 2023.Six players apart from captain Fatima Sana have already represented Pakistan women’s team in international cricket including Gull Feroza (2 T20Is), Natalia Parvaiz (3 ODIs, 11 T20Is), Sadaf Shamas (4 ODIs, 2 T20Is), Syeda Aroob Shah (2 ODIs, 5T20Is), Tuba Hassan (1 ODI, 21 T20Is), and Umm-e-Hani (1 ODI). Anoosha Nasir eagers to do well in ACC Women’s Emerging Asia Cup
Sports Bulletin ReportKARACHI:-Rising cricket girl, Anoosha Nasir, 17, is looking eager to do well in the upcoming ACC Women's Emerging Teams Asia Cup, which will get underway in Hong Kong at the end of this month, as her recent achievements in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa have gathered attention and established her as a promising talent in the sport.Anoosha, a 17-year-old cricketer has proved her abilities on the international stage with her impressive tally of 10 wickets from five matches. Now, she is ready to produce a notable performance in the regional cricket fixture of Asian women, as her presence in the team adds depth and diversity to Pakistan's lineup.Karachi-based Anoosha started her cricketing career in the Under-18 T20 Women’s Cricket Championship 2019-20, which was taken place in Lahore. Playing for Northern Renegades, Anoosha finished at the top spot in the bowling charts with six wickets from four wickets and led her side to the final of the tournament.While representing PCB Challengers in the Pakistan Cup Women’s One-Day Cup 2021-22 held in Karachi from 9 to 21 September 2021, Anoosha Nasir claimed 14 wickets from 7 matches that was also included one five-wicket haul. This was the only five-fer in the tournament and she finished on second place in the bowling charts.In order to choose the squad for the first-ever ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup, the PCB arranged a Women's U19 T20 Tournament in August 2022. The tournament, involving six teams, took place from August 13 to 22 in Muridke and Sheikhupura. Anoosha, playing for the Sindh Women U19 team as a right-handed batter, scored 65 runs from three innings. Her impressive performance included eight boundaries, and she also took three wickets.Three months later, Anoosha represented PCB Challengers in phase two of the T20 Women’s Cricket Tournament, where she took five wickets from three outings. She registered her best figures of four for 24 in the match against Dynamites on 6 December at the LCCA Ground.Anoosha then turned out for Strikers in the T20 phase of the Pakistan Cup Women’s Cricket Tournament 2022-23, where she bagged five wickets from two outings in the first phase held in Karachi.Anoosha Nasir said in an interview:“My family has been a great support to me, specially my father who stays with me whenever I am practicing. This gives me a lot of encouragement to play this game and perform. “I had this feeling inside me from the beginning that I have to play cricket, but it was Sana Mir who inspired me to take this game.”“I have been bowling to the senior players, played with them, so it’s always felt good playing with them.” ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 was a dream for me to become the leading wicket-taker for Pakistan in the mega event. Now, Challengers and Dynamites will meet again in the final of the tournament on Sunday, 4 June at the same venue. Omaima Sohail-led Challengers managed 160 for seven in 45 overs. Javeria Khan was top scorer with 83 runs, as her innings was laced with six fours. She faced 126 balls. The only prominent partnership of 75 runs in the innings came from Javeria and Fareeha Mehmood for the fifth wicket. Nashra Sundhu claimed 2 wickets for 25 from 9 oversDynamites opening batters Khadija Chishti (15 runs off 37 balls) and captain Sidra Amin (36 runs off 53 balls) provided a solid 43-run start to the innings. After the dismissal of Khadija, Aima Saleem soon followed Khadija, both batters were snared by left-arm spinner Saima as Dynamites were 48 for 2 in 14.2 overs. Experienced Aliya Riaz joined Sidra Amin in the middle and both knitted 26 runs for the third wicket. Javeria got player of the match award.

Javeria was declared the player of the match.Blaster set a 191 runs target on the scoreboard, as the winners lost two wickets for 42 runs in the 13th over. At this stage, Javeria and Omaima got together on the pitch, as both batters aggregated 134 runs for the third wicket before both batters Javeria (82 runs, 119 balls, 4x6, 6x1) and Omaima (75 runs, 86 balls, 4x5x, 6x1) went back to the dressing-room on successive deliveries of the 38th over. However, in 42nd over Challengers reached on target after losing 5 girls. Left-arm spinner Anam Amin got 2 wickets for the Blasters after conceding 42 runs in 10 overs.Earlier, Challengers skipper won the toss and put opposition into bat first, Blasters were reeling at 42 for three in the 13th over, when Captain Muneeba Ali was joined by Iram Javed. Both batters stitched a 104-run partnership for the fourth wicket, but after the departure of Muneeba (50 runs, 75 balls, 4x2, 6x0) and Iram (49 runs, 69 balls, 4x3, 6x2), no Blasters batter managed to score significantly as the side was dismissed for 190 in the allotted 45 overs. Four players, who featured in the inaugural ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup earlier in the year, are picked up for the eight-team tournament. Women’s Cricket News: England to host Sri Lanka this year 2023

Cricket Board names Nida Day as captain of national team

LAHORE: Nida Dar has been appointed as the Pakistan women’s team captain, Mark Coles has been confirmed as the head coach while former Test cricketer Saleem Jaffar has been named as the chair of the Women’s Selection Committee in key appointments, which were approved by the Chair of the PCB Management Committee Najam Sethi.
Nida won the PCB Women’s Cricketer of the Year for 2021 and replaces Bismah Maroof, who stepped down from captaincy following the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa. Nida is one of the most experienced players in the country, having represented Pakistan in 130 T20Is and 99 ODIs.
The appointments have been made in light of the PCB’s vision and strategy to invest further into women’s cricket and keeping in mind the upcoming international assignments, including hosting South Africa and tours to Bangladesh and New Zealand for the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25 fixtures.
Overall, in an 11-month period from August 2023 to July 2024, Pakistan women’s team is scheduled to play five bilateral cricket series comprising a total of 15 ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25 ODIs. In addition to these 50-over matches, Pakistan will play as many as 17 T20Is. These ODIs and T20Is will lead to the 10-team ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh and eight-team ICC Women’s World Cup in India, which will be held in 2024 and 2025, respectively.

Emerging High-Performance Skills Camp begins today in Multan

MULTAN: A total of 27 women’s emerging cricketers will undergo skills and fitness training at the Inzamam-ul-Haq High Performance Centre, Multan, in the Emerging High Performance Skills Camp, which begins on 25 March.
Over the course of the 13-day camp, these 27 players will train under the supervision of the academy coaches. The camp will be headed by former Test cricketer Mohsin Kamal and other academy coaches include Mauhtashim Rashid and Muhammad Kamran Hussain.
This camp serves an opportunity to the coaches to work on the skills of emerging cricketers and identify players for the forthcoming ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup to be staged in June this year.
Head of Women’s Cricket, Tania Mallick: “Skill camps provide opportunities for young and emerging players to hone their cricketing skills under the guidance of experienced coaches. The camp will help identify and develop talented young players at the grassroots level, and can help in creating a pipeline of players for the national team.
“The objective of this camp is to upskill the players so we are in a position to select a squad for forthcoming ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup.”
