Abbottabad to host Blind Cricket T20 Super League in June
Sports Bulletin ReportABBOTTABAD: A major city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province Abbottabad will stage Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) Blind Cricket T20 Super League Season 2023-24, from June 7 to 13, 2024.According to an official of PBCC, teams from four provinces including Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan will fight for the top honour, as the best players from different cricketing nations will take part in the said tournament.As many as 13 matches will be played in the entertaining and competitive event. The prestigious league is a part of preparations for the 4th T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Punjab and Sindh from November 22 to December 3, 2024. The T20 Blind Cricket World Cup will be a grand success, with seven countries, including India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Bangladesh, West Indies, New Zealand, and Nepal expected to feature in the event. Australia is also expected to confirm its participation soon.A total of 22 players will be shortlisted from the league for the World Cup, as the shortlisted players will be provided training before the World Cup and then a 17-member squad will be finalized for the mega event. Pakistani teenagers confirm their berth in ITF Asia Under-12 finalsAbdul Jabbar FaisalKathmandu (Nepal): India overcame Pakistan 2-0 in the final of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) Under-12 Team Competition Qualifying Event that concluded in Kathmandu, Nepal on Friday.According to available information from abroad, despite the loss against India, Pakistani teenagers have secured a spot in the ITF Asia U12 Finals set to take place in Kazakhstan later this year.Non-playing team Captain Abid said: "The team's overall performance was remarkable, as the boys played exceptionally well throughout the tournament, making it to the final and qualifying for the World Championships. Unfortunately, we couldn't tide-over India in the final. We need to work harder, and Insha’Allah, we will perform very well in Kazakhstan."Aisam ul Haq Qureshi, President, Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) said: "The team's performance in the competition was great and acceptable, as our guys defeated Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh to reach the final. Japan diplomate Hattori Masaru wishes to promote softball in Pakistan

Athletes send a message of hope and confidence to the world through mutual respect, harmony, and friendship. He expressed these views in a meeting with a delegation of Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP) led by President Asif Azeem at the Japanese Consulate. Vice Consul Saito Machi, Senior Vice President of Softball Federation Dr. Farhan Essa, Chairperson Yasmin Hyder, and Secretary Finance Zeeshan Merchant were also present on this occasion.Japanese Consul General Hattori Masaru said that softball is played by more than 65 million people from 140 countries around the world. In terms of sports, the Olympic Games have an authentic and prominent place around the world and softball is part of the 2028 Olympic Games to be held in the city of Los Angeles,USA.Hattori Masaru further said that he is very happy to see the growing popularity of softball among the Pakistani youth. “We will do our best to develop this game in a modern way in Pakistan. The Softball Federation of Pakistan will organize the women's inter-provincial softball championship to be played in Karachi this month. Such events give young players plenty of opportunities to express their talents.” Federation President Asif Azeem said that Japan is one of the leading countries playing softball. Japan Consulate Karachi has always provided us with its full support for the development of softball. Dr. Farhan Essa said that we wish qualified coaches and umpires from Japan to come to Pakistan to train our players and coaches. Yasmin Hyder said that very soon they will organize a series of matches between the Japanese Consulate and the Pakistan Softball team. On this occasion, the Softball Federation of Pakistan presented a softball momento bats and souvenirs to Japanese Consul General Hattori Masaru and Vice Consul Saito Machi.

SAFF, CAF women’s football development workshop concludes
Sports Bulletin ReportRiyadh (Saudi Arabia): The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) has concluded a five-day educational workshop focusing on women’s football. The aim was to develop and empower coaches from Saudi Arabia and Africa. In partnership with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the Riyadh-based workshop ran from 14 - 18 May with a total of 32 coaches, 16 African coaches from 13 CAF member associations participating alongside 16 coaches from local sports clubs, regional training centers, and the Saudi Arabian Women’s National Teams.Lamia Bahaian, Vice President of SAFF, said: "The success of this event demonstrates our commitment to fostering the growth and development of women's football both in Saudi Arabia and across Africa. Through these collaborative efforts, we aim to create a strong network of coaches who can share their experiences, support one another, and contribute to the global advancement of women's football. The enthusiasm and dedication shown by the participants have been truly inspiring, and we are confident that their influence will be felt on and off the field."
