UAE Women’s team ready to make history in Zimbabwe
Dubai (SBR): The Esha Oza-led UAE Women’s team are set to make history tomorrow as they start their ODI journey in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The team will play 50-over matches for the first time in their history – the four-match series will be played from 26 September to 2 October. UAE were awarded ODI Status by the ICC in May this year after a series of impressive T20I format which helped them break into the top 15 teams and earn the right to play the 50-over format.All four series matches will start at 9:15am local time. Pakistan women beat South Africa women by 6 wickets: Nashra bags 6-26
 Lahore (PCB Report): Oakistan Women defeated South Africa Women by six wickets at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Monday night in the final game of the three-match ODI series. South Africa bagged the series 2-1 after winning the first two matches on 16 and 19 September.Nashra’s career-best figures and Sidra Amin’s unbeaten half-century ensured Pakistan chased down a meagre 116-run target in 31 overs.Earlier, Pakistan skittled South Africa for 115 in 25.5 overs – their second lowest total against Pakistan in ODIs – as left-arm spinner Nashra wreaked havoc with figures of 9-2-26-6.Nashra became third – following Nida Dar and Sana Mir - and fastest (74 innings) among Pakistan Women’s bowlers to the 100 ODI wickets milestone besides registering her best bowling figures in the format eclipsing her previous best of 4-26 against India in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2017 at Derby in England.After choosing to bat first, South Africa began briskly, reaching 38 without loss in 6.3 overs through skipper Laura Wolvaardt’s 28 off 23 balls comprising six fours.South Africa’s promising start was disrupted when Laura hit one straight to Muneeba off Diana Baig. Sidra Amin’s unbeaten century in vain as South Africa take lead in ODI series
Lahore (SBR): South Africa Women defeated Pakistan Women by eight wickets at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Tuesday night in the opening game of the three-match ODI series.Unbeaten hundreds by Tazmin Brits and Marizanne Kapp helped South Africa overhaul the 256-run target in the penultimate over.After opting to bat, Pakistan lost an early wicket in the second over as Shawaal Zulfiqar was dismissed without scoring while the scoreboard read 3-1.Opening batter Muneeba Ali and Sidra Amin anchored the innings with a commanding 147-run stand – Pakistan's highest second-wicket partnership and third highest for any wicket in WODIs. The duo brought up the team’s 100 in the 21st over and continued to build momentum, taking the total to 150 by the 31st over.Muneeba, having reached her 5th half-century, was eventually dismissed for a well-crafted 76 off 94 balls, laced with 11 fours.Aliya Riaz then joined Sidra at the crease and the pair added a valuable 68 runs off the next 71 deliveries. Aliya contributed a brisk 33 off 34 balls, striking five boundaries, before falling in the 43rd over.Sidra brought up her 5th ODI century with a delicate dab down to long-on. PCB announces a 15-member squad for ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025
 Lahore (SBR):The Women’s National Selection Committee has named a 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 set to take place from 30 September to 2 November. The same squad will also feature in a three-match ODI series against South Africa, scheduled at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore from 16 to 22 September.Uncapped right-handed batter Eyman Fatima, who recently made her T20I debut against Ireland, is part of the ODI squad. Fatima Sana, who represented Pakistan in the previous edition of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, will lead the side for the first time in the mega event.23-year-old had previously captained the side in the ICC Women’s CWC Qualifier held in Lahore this year, where the team maintained a 100 per cent win record to secure qualification for this year’s ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup set to take place in India and Sri Lanka.Pakistan will play all their group-stage matches at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. Islamabad (Sports Desk): A revised schedule for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 has been announced with Navi Mumbai replacing Bengaluru as one of the five venues for the eight-team tournament.The DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai will host up to five fixtures comprising three league matches, a semifinal and potentially the final after a rejig was necessitated because of the unavailability of Bengaluru’s M. Saleema Imtiaz to officiate in Pakistan v South Africa women’s series
Lahore (PR): Pakistan’s Saleema Imtiaz will officiate in her first ODI bilateral series when she takes the field during the upcoming three-match women’s ODI series between Pakistan and South Africa in Lahore, with the PCB confirming the match officials for the series.The three-match ODI series will be staged at the Gaddafi Stadium from 16 to 22 September.Saleema, who is part of the ICC International Panel of Umpires will be joined by Australia’s Claire Polosak, who returns to Pakistan after officiating in the Pakistan v West Indies women’s series last year in Karachi. Polosak, also a member of the ICC International Panel of Umpires, will stand in all three ODIs as an on-field umpire.Humairah Farah has been named as the reserve umpire for the series, while Tariq Rasheed from the PCB Elite Panel of Umpires will also perform duty of an on-field umpire during the series. Pakistan Cricket Board names women squad for Ireland tour
Karachi (SBR): Fatima Sana will continue to lead the Pakistan women’s team as the Women’s National Selection Committee has named a 15-member squad for the Ireland series. The three-match T20I series against Ireland will be played at Clontarf Cricket Club in Dublin from 6 to 10 August.22-year-old Eyman Fatima is the only uncapped player in the squad. She has been selected after scoring 287 runs from eight matches at a strike rate of 155.14 in the National Women’s T20 Tournament held in Karachi in May this year. The right-handed batter also represented Pakistan in the inaugural ICC Women’s U19 World Cup in 2023.The squad has been selected from among the 24 players taking part in the Women’s Skills camp, which will conclude on 27 July in Karachi. Karachi(SBR):Invincibles’ left-arm pacer Neha Sharmin Nadeem picked up 3-14 in four overs to help her team overcome Fatima Sana’s Conquerors in the sixth round of the National Women’s T20 Tournament 2024-25 at the National Bank Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.Neha provided the Invincibles with a head-start as she dismissed both the opposition opening batters for golden ducks before castling Najiha Alvi for a run-a-ball 16 to leave Conquerors 37-3.Skipper Fatima, who is currently leading the batting charts with 252 runs, continued her fine form with the bat as she contributed 41 runs off 32 balls with the help of seven fours, while also partnering with Hafsa Khalid (24, 35b, 4x4s) for a 33-run stand.Fatima fell prey to Tania Saeed, who returned figures of 4-0-18-2, as Conquerors were restricted to 107-8 in 20 overs.In turn, Ayesha Zafar (47, 35b, 8x4s) and Omaima Sohail (44 not out, 41b, 7x4s) forged a 91-run alliance for the second wicket after Humna Bilal landed an early blow to remove Muneeba Ali. Invincibles reached the target in 15.5 overs with eight wickets in hand.In the other sixth round fixture at the Oval Academy Ground, Strikers rolled over Stars by nine wickets as they chased the 98-run target in 12.4 overs to bag their second win in the tournament.Skipper Gull Feroza (37 not out, 42b, 3x4s) and player of the match Noreen Yaqoob (28, 21b, 4x4s, 1x6) put on a 56-run opening stand before Stars’ Tuba Hassan removed the latter.
