Murad and Mahoor lift National Badminton Championships titles
Top seed Murad Ali overcomes Irfan Saeed 2-1, Mahoor Shahzad outplays Ghazala 2-0 Abdullah Asjad HYDERABAD (January 2, 2023): Top seed Murad Ali (KP) and Mahoor Shahzad (Wapda) have clinched the men’s singles and women’s singles titles of the All Pakistan National Ranking Badminton Championships after beating Irafan Saeed and Ghazala Siddiqui respectively here at Niaz Stadium Hyderabad Club on Monday. In the Men’s Singles final, defending champion Murad Ali toiled hard on the court to overcome his opponent Irfan Saeed after a three games nail and bite final. Murad won the first game to a tie-break, as Iran put a great resistance throughout the game. Irfan was aggressive in the second game and claimed the game at 21-13 and squared the crucial contest 1-1. However, in the last and conclusive game, Murad changed his tactic and played some long rallies to defeat Iran 21-17 and become champion too. The final score-line was 22-20, 13-21 and 21-17. Earlier, in the Women’s final, Mahoor Shahzad outclassed Ghazala Siddiqui in straight games 2-0. Both girls from WAPDA displayed top-quality badminton in the first game and amused a sizeable number of spectators. Mahoor finished the game at 23-21 after toiling hard on the court. Her game was a blend of powerful strokes and classic drop shorts. However, in the second game, she did not allow Ghazala on the court at any stage and finished the second game 21-12. The final score-line was 23-21 and 21-12. The chief guest of the closing ceremony, Aqeel Qadir Junejo Senior Vice President (SVP) Sindh Badminton Association (SBA) distributed the trophies and cash prizes amongst the finalists. Jam Zahoor Lakhan Administrator Hyderaba Club, Tayyab Sohail Senior Vice President of PBF, and Raja Azhar Mahmood Secretary General PBF were also present at this occasion. National Ranking Championship: Murad Ali (KP) overpowers Tahir Subhani 2-0
Sports Bulletin Report HYDERABAD: Pakistan number one badminton player, Murad Ali thrashed Tahir Subhani 2-0 in his opening match of the Men’s Singles event of the National Badminton Ranking Championships that rolled into action here at Hyderabad Club Niaz Stadium on Thursday. The championship is being played under the banner of Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF), as the Sindh Badminton Association (SBA) is organizing championship in the collaboration with Sindh Sports Board (SSB). Over 200 male and female players from all four provinces, Pakistan Wapda, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Police and SNGPL are taking part in the national badminton fixture. Aqeel Qadir Junejo Senior Vice President Sindh Badminton Association inaugurated the championship today. Sports Bulletin Report Quetta: Pakistan number one Murad Ali beat Jalees Konain 2-1 in his open match of the Men’s Fixture of the National Ranking Badminton Championship 2022 that started in Quetta, Balochistan on Wednesday. The final score-line was 21-17, 19-21 and 21-15.  Ali Murad and Mahoor Shahzad win the titles of All Pakistan National Ranking Tournament
Sports Bulletin Report BAHAWALPUR:-Top national badminton man, Murad Ali and top national badminton women Mahoor Shahzad have won the Singles titles of the All Pakistan National Ranking Badminton Tournament Bahawalpur 2022 that concluded at Garison Sports Complex on Wednesday. Raja Mohammad Hasnain pairing with Raja Zulqarnain Haider claimed the men’s doubles title while Mahoor Shahzad & Ghazala Siddique took the women double title at the same venue. All the finals ended in straight games that exposed the standard of badminton in Pakistan. Lt. Gen. Khalid Zia (HI) (M) was the chief guest of the closing ceremony and distributed cash prizes and trophies amongst the finalists. Rs. 1.5 million were distributed as cash prizes in this tournament. Lt. Gen. Khalid Zia announced that the tournament would be conducted annually in collaboration with Pakistan Badminton Federation. He also offered the Badminton Federation to hold National camps at Garison Sports complex. President Badminton Federation Wajid Ali Chaudhry in his speech thanked the 31 corp of Pakistan Army for organizing this mega event at Bahawalpur. He said this effort of the Pakistan army would promote the game of Badminton in the country.
