Attock Boys Clinch Rawalpindi Division Badminton Championship
ABDUL JABBAR FAISAL ISLAMABAD (January 7, 2021):-District Attock Badminton Team made a big mark after beating Jhelum by 3-2 in a thrilling best of five games in the final Rawalpindi Divisional Badminton Championship 2021 at Liaqat Bagh Sports Complex Rawalpindi. It is pertinent to mention here that all four districts including Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal and Rawalpindi took part in event. This is the first ever win of a lower rank District Attock in the history of Rawalpindi Divisional badminton where Rawalpindi gone down in semifinal under a major upset by Jhelum 2-1 while Attock outclassed Chakwal 2-0 to get the berth in the final of the badminton championship. Final match proved to be an exciting for both teams of Attock and Jhelum as they were facing first ever to each other for the divisional title. Players from both side struggled extraordinary as many ups and downs were seen in the initial singles and doubles matches and a time came when the battle remained 2-2 equal as both teams won one single and one double each. At this stage, Amir Waqas (Attock) stunned his opponent Hamza from Jhelum in last deciding single by 21-5, 21-8. Provincial Minister for Interior Punjab Syed Yawer Abbas Bukhari and Deputy Commissioner Attock Ali Anan Qamar, International Badminton Coach Raziuddin Ahmad congratulated to Attock on their marvelous victory including DSO Waheed Baber, Team Manager Mohammad Asim and Attock team members Mohammad Ibrahim, Waqas Meer, Mohsin and Amir Waqas. Murad and Mahoor win National Badminton title
Salman Khan LAHORE (January 31, 2020):-Murad Ali (NBP) has won the Men's Single Championship of 57th National Badminton Championship 2020 while Mahoor Shahzad (Wapda) retained the Women's Single title. In the Men Doubles Awais Zahid and Mohammad Ali Larosh of Wapda grabbed the Men's Double title.   Khalid Mehmood Secretary General Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He distributed cash prize and trophies and certificates among the players. SB News LAHORE (January 23, 2020):-The National Junior Badminton Championships concluded at WAPDA Sports Complex Lahore on Thursday.  Malik Ghasif Punjab win the Boy's Single U-14 title, In the Boy's Single U-16 Saad Amir of Punjab took the title, In Girl's Single U-16 Summiya Tariq Army won the Final, In the Boy's Single U-18 Omer Jahanghir of KP win the title and Omama Usman Sindh win the Girl's U-18 event. Haji Mohammad Khalid Mehmood Secretary General of Pakistan Olympic Association was the Chief Guest of the final ceremony. Pakistan International Series Badminton Tournament 2019 Mahoor clinches Singles title By Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-Pencil thin and sharp girl Mahoor Shaahzad saved the blushes of Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF) by clinching the Women’s Singles title of the Pakistan International Series Badminton Tournament 2019. She toppled top seed Soraya Aghahajiagha 2-1 in the final in a well contested three games final played at Rodham Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad on Sunday.  Local teenager Mahoor Shahzad displayed excellent skill of the game and overcame top seed opponent Soraya Aghahajiaghe from Iran. She took the first game without any resistance and showed good technique and skills of badminton at 21-15. In the second game, Soraya took the charge and fought back with long rallies and won the second game at 21-16 to bounce back in the contest. Mahoor won the third game at 21-16 and won the title. In Men Singles final, Saran Jamsri (Thailand) comfortably defeated Geoorges Julien Paul of Mauritius in the straight games. He used powerful strokes and show great skill and technique to avoid any resistance from opponent. Agha Hassan Baloch Chairman standing committee on Sports was the chief guest of the occasion and distributed the cash prizes and trophies amongst the finalists. Total cash prize was $10000.
