ISLAMABAD (December 22, 2022): The two-day Quaid-e-Azam Classical Chess Championship will be played on December 24 and 25 in collaboration with Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP) and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) at the Main Building ICCI G 8/1 Islamabad.
According to an official of CFP, as many 80 selected players from across the country will participate in the tournament that carries prize money of Rs 75,000. Also, trophies, medals and certificates will be awarded to players, divided into Open (U-1800 FIDE), Women and Under-14 categories.
Match duration in the aforesaid FIDE rated tournament will be 30 minutes + 30 seconds increament from first move. This tournament to be played with the Swiss league system will consist of 8 rounds.
Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, and Patron-in-Chief, Chess Federation of Pakistan Anwar Sheikh will be guests at the closing ceremony.
