Asian Junior Squash Championship 2024 to start on June 25
Boys and Girls from 12 countries including India to compete in the different age categoriesAbdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD: As many as 301 boys and girls from 12 countries will participate in the different age categories of the 31st Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship 2024, which will be kicked off on Tuesday (June 25) at Mushaf Squash Complex, said Secretary, Pakistan Squash Federation (PDF) Aamir Nawaz in a press conference at a local hotel, as he was flanked by Vice President PSF, Qamar Zaman, and Director Academies Irfan Asgher.He further divulged on this occasion that championship would feature 12 countries, including hosts Pakistan, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, and Sri Lanka, with a total of 107 men players, 84 women players, 36 officials, and 44 parents participating. “Pakistan has entered 24 men and 19 women players in various age groups, who have undergone rigorous training to excel in the championship,”he replied a question.“The Technical Delegate appointed by Asian Squash Federation (ASF) is Ardvy Ally, while WSF International Referee Tahir Khanzada will lead a panel of 23 referees to conduct matches at both venues. The championship includes Boys and Girls U-13, U-15, U-17, and U-19 age categories, “he futher said.Responding to a question, he said, “Pakistan has a remarkable history in the Asian Junior Individual Championship, with numerous Gold and Silver Medal wins. The country's squash legends, including Jansher Khan, Abdul Rasheed, Amjad Khan, and others, have made significant contributions to the sport. Sports Bulletin ReportParis (France): Paris 2024 excitement is gathering pace as thirty-four young climbers from the host nation France compete at a Test Event this weekend as part of the preparation ahead of the summer showpiece.Although there will be no spectators and only a simulation and operational test of the newly built competition venue, the youth athletes will be the first to compete on the Boulder, Lead, and Speed walls at the Le Bourget Sport Climbing Venue in the Parisian suburb of Saint-Denis. The two days of competition serves as an opportunity to test and simulate Games time protocols and procedures from an operational perspective to ensure the venue readiness and has many key operational staff in attendance.From the field of play to technology, route setting to volunteers, all aspects of Climbing’s second Olympic appearance will be tested by the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee with the support of IFSC Vice-President Kobinata Toru and IFSC Paris 2024 Delegate Hazel Han. Among the officials in attendance integral to the Paris 2024 competition are Event Delegate Stanley Yeo, Jury President Tim Hatch and Head route setters Garrett Gregor and Martin Hammerer.Also in attendance will be French climber Oriane Bertone who has already secured her ticket to her home Games via the IFSC European Qualifier in Laval, France last year. Opener Sophia Dunkley is recalled to an otherwise unchanged group from those who sealed a T20 series victory against Pakistan in May.Southern Vipers’ Freya Kemp will be available as an all-rounder during the series after being named as a batter against Pakistan. Nairobi (Kenya): The Pakistan Blind Women's Goalball Team has commenced their historic tour of Kenya with a resounding victory, defeating the host Kenyan team 10-4 in the first match of the series. Captain Karn Rafeeq led the team with an impressive nine goals, while Ramsha Ajmal scored one goal. Syeda Farwa Ali showcased exceptional defensive skills, repelling all attacks from the opposing team.The Principal Sports Officer of Kenya's Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Margaret Gati, attended the match and met with both teams, praising the blind players' efforts and highlighting the Kenyan government's initiatives to support visually impaired athletes. FIH Hockey Pro League title showdown in Netherlands

Bobby Curtis is an elite tournament, which was won previously by several professionals when they were juniors.
