AA Report ISLAMABAD: Rising tennis teenager, Sami Zeb Khan stunned Ibrahim Furkan Deniz in straight sets 2-0 in the ITF Pakistan World Juniors Tennis Championship Leg-II here at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Garden Avenue on Wednesday. Local guy Sami Zeb Khan conceded 2 and 3 games in both sets respectively, as he displayed top quality tennis against his opponent from Turkey and did not allow him to settle the feet on the court during the whole match to move into the top-8 stage of the boys’ singles fixture. President, Islamabad Tennis Association (ITA) Tariq Mahmood Murtaza, who is also chairman of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) graced the occasion as the chief guest. Also, a large number of tennis lovers and parents of the player were present on this eve. ITF Pakistan Juniors Tennis: Imran Khaitbaev wins Leg-1 title
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: Uzbekistan tennis lad, Imran Khaitbaev beat Amir Asylkozhaev of Russia 2-0 in the final of ITF Pakistan Juniors Tennis Championship Leg-1 here at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex on Saturday. Imran crushed his opponent Amir Asylkozhaev in a single sided final in straight set, as he conceded just 1 and 2 games in both sets respectively. The final score-line was 6-1 and 6-2. A large number of foreign players from Turkey, Russia, India, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Australia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United States of America (USA), Nepal, Malaysia, Moldova and Japan participated in the leg-1 event. President, Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), Senator Salim Saifullah Khan was the chief guest at the closing ceremony, which was also attended by Humayun Saifullah Khan Former Provincial Minister-KPK and a large number of tennis lovers. The President-PTF, while addressing the participants, thanked them for visiting Pakistan. The President-PTF also stated that the conduct of such events in Pakistan and the participation of foreign players would further promote the soft image of Pakistan besides providing an opportunity for Pakistani players to compete with quality players. He also showed satisfaction with the overall arrangements which are in place for the conduct of the event. He thanked the Islamabad Police for providing foolproof security coverage for this event, and the media for highlighting the event comprehensively. ITF Juniors: Mohammad Zaryab and Azat claim Doubles title
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD: Upcoming tennis lad, Mohammad Zaryab Khan pairing with Azat Sarsembaev from Kazakhstan annexed the Boys’ Doubles crown of the ITF Pakistan Juniors Tennis Championships Leg-1 after thrashing Ibrahim Furkan Deniz from Turkey and Imran Khaitbaev from Uzbekistan in straight sets here at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex on Friday. In Boys Doubles finals, Mohammad Zaryab Khan of Pakistan and his overseas partner Azat Sarsembaev of Kazakhstan overcame their challengers Ibrahim Furkan Deniz and Imran Khaitbaev with the score-line was 6-3 and 7-5 feisty battle. This was first ITF Juniors’ Title for both Azat and Zaryab. Zaryab's win, who trains at the NTC, will give a boost to his confidence, and inspire all the other local players. ITF Pakistan Juniors Tennis Championship starts at PTF Complex
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: ITF (International Tennis Federation) Pakistan Juniors Tennis Championship Leg-1 rolled into action here at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex with the qualifying round, as the main draw matches will be started from Monday. A total number of 12 qualifying matches were played on the first day, as the final round of the qualifying matches will be on Sunday while the main draw will commence on Monday at the same venue. Around 38 foreign boys and girls from Turkey, Russia, India, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Australia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United States of America (USA), Nepal, Malaysia and Japan are participating in the first leg of the international juniors’ fixture. The President PTF, Salim Saifullah Khan and Former Provincial Minister-KPK Humayun Saifullah Khan visited PTF Complex and interacted with the players, coaches and parents and, conveyed their best wishes to all the participants. PTA signs MoU with LBTC New York for the promotion of Tennis
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: The Punjab Tennis Academy (PTA) has signed the MoU with Long Beach Tennis Centre (LBTC) New York to work jointly for the promotion of tennis and its players in Pakistan. The MoU was signed between PLTA Secretary Rashid Malik (Tamgh-e-Imtiaz) and Faheem Siddiqui, brother of Long Beach Tennis Centre New York CEO Sid Siddiqui on his behalf during a simple but impressive ceremony held here at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah Lahore.  Speaking on the occasion, Rashid Malik said: "The Junior Initiative Program was in progress here at the PLTA, which was halted by COVID but now, the PLTA is going to restart the initiative in collaboration with Long Beach Tennis Centre New York and this will help the association restart the junior initiative program once again. This will go a long way and help our kids excel at provincial, national and international level. "This program includes the categories from Under-10 to Under-16 while the players will be selected on the basis of their last five PLTA-organized tennis tournaments. This time, the categories of Under-6 and Under-8 will be given special importance in order to prepare future tennis stars for the country. “The selected players will be provided with free coaching, tennis balls, stringing and other facilities that will help them in domestic tournaments. This is a whole year program which will benefit the local players to a larger extent.
