Midcourt ATF Championships: Haider and Hussnain win the Doubles final
SPORTS BULLETIN REPORT Islamabad (September 24, 2021):-Mohammad Haider Ali Rizwan pairing with Mohammad Hussnain Ali Rizwan have won the title of Under-14 Midcourt ATF Championships after beating Ahtesham Humayun and Asad Zaman 2-0 at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad on Friday. A total number of 09 matches were played on the 5th day of the Championships. Rashid Malik - Secretary-PLTA and former Davis Cupper visited PTF Complex and witnessed some of the matches. He appreciated the efforts of Salim Saifullah Khan President -PTF and PTF Management for their continued efforts for promotion of tennis in the country. He was highly impressed with the professional conduct and organization of events one after the other. He was also full of praise for Zaira Ahmad Zaka (founder of Midcourt ) for her personal interest in organizing the Midcourt ATF Championships. Midcourt ATF Championships: Hamza outclasses Hamza
SPORTS BULLETIN REPORT Islamabad (September 23, 2021):-Hamza Roman claimed an upset after beating top seed Mohammad Hamza Ali Rizwan in the first semifinal of Boys’ Single fixture of the Midcourt ATF Championships Under-14 Leg 1 at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad on Thursday.  As many as 14 matches were played on the 4th day of the Championships.  In the Girls singles final, Haniya Minhas comfortably beat Amna Qayum 6-0, 6-0 and won the ATF 14 & under title. Haniya was in superb form throughout the tournament and won the title without losing a single game. In the Boys Singles Semifinals, Hamza Roman upset 1st seed Mohammad Hamza Ali Rizwan. In another Semifinals Haider Ali Rizwan easily dispatched Asad Zaman. The Boys Singles final will be played on Saturday 25th September 2021.  Midcourt ATF Championships: Pakistani teenagers claim victories
SPORTS BULLETIN REPORT Islamabad (September 22, 2021):-Pakistani boys displayed excellent tennis on Wednesday in the Midcourt ATF Championships after claiming victories at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad. A total number of seventeen matches were played on the third day. In boys singles, Asad Zaman (Pak) beat Shehryar Anees(Pak)  after a marathon 3 hours match. In another match, Hamza Roman (Pak) upset third seed Boris Adhikari of Nepal.In girls singles, Haniya Minhas and Amna Ali Qayum qualify for the final. Haniya continues her fine form and beat Zainab Ali Raja 6-0, 6-0. It is pertinent to mention that during the ATF event, covid-19 SOPs will be strictly observed as per government of Pakistan and ITF protocols and guidelines, and no spectators or non-essential persons will be allowed inside the tournament venue. SPORTS BULLETIN REPORT Islamabad (September 20, 2021):-The Midcourt ATF Under-14 Championships commenced on Monday at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad. Col. Gul Rehman [R] Secretary-PTF and Zaira Ahmad Zaka (founder Midcourt) inaugurated the championship, interacted with the players and welcomed them especially the Nepali players and wished them all for their better performance in the Championships. A total number of eight matches were played on the first day. The winners moved into the 2nd round. However, the players who lost their matches today will compete in the consolation matches tomorrow. ITF Under-12 South Asian Qualifying Event concludes
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD (September 15, 2021):-Hosts Pakistan stunned India 2-1 in the South Asian Under-12 Qualifying Event at PTF Tennis Complex on Wednesday, as the both Pakistan and India qualified for the next round, which would be played in Nur-Sultan Kazakhstan in November this year 2021. Pakistan and India Boys tie, in which Pakistan won 2-1 after fighting back bravely from 2-6, 0-5 down in the deciding doubles match to win the 2nd set 7-5 and then taking the match tie-break 10-5.. Earlier, in the girls’ event, Pakistan beat Maldives 3-0 to qualify for Kazakhstan along with India, who finished the event unbeaten after comfortably defeating Nepal 3-0. Former Federal Secretary and IG Police Iftikhar Rashid, who is the acting President-PTF, welcomed the teams, parents as well as dignitaries including the ambassadors of Nepal and Maldives, and the Charge de Affairs of the Indian High Commission. He thanked the chief guest Dr. Arshad Mahmood, Secretary Petroleum for gracing the occasion and Toyota-Indus Motors for sponsoring the event, as well as ITF and ATF for their continued support to ensure the event materialized. South Asian Regional Qualifying Tennis: Pakistani boys reach in final

After beating Nepal 3-0, the Pakistan boys team qualified for the finals. The Pakistan girls also defeated Nepal 3-0 and will face Maldives on Wednesday at same venue. The Indian girls beat Maldives 3-0. Under-12 South Asia Tennis: India overcome hosts 2-1
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD (September 13, 2021): Indian girls overcame Pakistan 2-1 in the Under-12 South Asian Regional Qualifying Event after facing a huge resistance from the local girls at PTF-SDA Complex Islamabad on Monday. In the first Singles, Indian girl Haritashree beat Zunaisha Noor in straight games 2-0 while in the second set Haniya Minhas claimed 2-1 victory over Maaya to level the match 1-1. Later, in the Double fixture, Indian girls had to toil hard in the court to overcome local girls. Match decided on tie-break, as the final score-line was 6-4, 4-6 and 11-9. Tariq Murtaza, Chairman RDA, President -ITA and  Senior Vice President-PTF graced the opening ceremony as chief guest  and he formally welcomed the participating teams, appreciating the efforts of the PTF management for organizing the event in a highly befitting manner. Babar Salim, the Chief Regulations Officer for Toyota-Indus Motors Company, which is sponsoring the event, also spoke on the occasion, besides appreciating the joint efforts of PTF and Toyota-Indus Motors Company for sponsoring and organizing this event. He also promised that his organization would continue to extend support to PTF in future.  It is pertinent to mention that the ambassador of Maldives Farzana Zahir also visited the PTF complex and witnessed the tie between the girls’ teams of Maldives and Nepal. She was highly impressed with the organization and conduct of the event, especially the security and strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols, as per government SOPs. Pakistan number one tennis player Aqeel Khan was also present during the opening ceremony and also witnessed some of the matches. He was also of the opinion that such events provide much-needed exposure to the young players. South Asian Regional Qualifying Tennis Event starts from Monday
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD (September 12, 2021): The South Asia Regional Qualifying Event of ITF Asia Under-12 Team Competition 2021 will start from Monday (September 13, 2021) at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Garden Avenue  Islamabad. Besides hosts Pakistan Boys and Girls teams from Maldives, Nepal and India will take part in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) tennis showpiece. According to Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), this is the first time in history of Pakistan an ITF Junior Team event is going to be hosted by Pakistan. Toyota-Indus Motors Company is major sponsor for this international fixture.  In preparation for the event, a hybrid Captain’s meeting was held today, in which all the captains, the Tournament Referee and Tournament Director, ITF Development Officer for South Asia Jonathan Stubbs and ATF Executive Director-Operations Puneet Gupta took part.  The draws for the event were also conducted, with Secretary PTF Col Gul Rehman(R). It is pertinent to mention that during the ITF event, besides proper security coverage to the foreign teams, Covid-19 SOPs will be strictly observed as per government of Pakistan and ITF protocols and guidelines, and no spectators or non-essential persons will be allowed inside the tournament venue. Salim Saifullah Khan, President PTF welcomed the teams and wished them for the matches. He reiterated that such events were a golden opportunity for our players to get international exposure at such a young age, and hoped it would go a long way in developing young talent. Asif Abbasi determines to make big mark in Wheelchair Tennis
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD (September 10, 2021):-Wheelchair tennis player, Asif Gul Abbasi determined to bring glory for the country and to hoist the national flag in international arenas of wheelchair tennis. While talking to this scribe over his mobile from London, he said that he had won the wheelchair tennis international tournament in 2018 in the UK. “I won a total of three international tennis tournaments so far, “he added. Asif further said that he was the only Pakistani guy, who had broken into top 100 best world ranking 82 in the world in October 2018. “I won 16 National series wheelchair tennis tournaments in the UK in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and was declared best player thrice in same years. Now, I am 145th spot in the international wheelchair tennis ranking, “he maintained. Responding to a question, he said that he achieved these honours without any support or help from any organisation. “Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) should support me and I can win the medals in the international games including Paralympics in future. I met with PTF officials in the past when I visited Pakistan a few months back but their response was not appreciate-able, “he lamented. “I had contacted Pakistan Paralympics and requested them to send my name for Paralympics 2020 but they did not take this seriously because of the negligence of the Paralympics officials in Pakistan. Unfortunately I could not represent Pakistan in these games. I had asked an official well in time before the setting of Paralympics, “he replied. Asif said that Pakistan Tennis Federation officials did not give him due respect and acknowledged his services to Pakistan. “I am also a level 3 tennis coach and have vast experience in tennis and I can train and provide training to budding tennis lads specially wheelchair tennis players in Pakistan, “he concluded.
