Aisam Qureshi and Alexander Nedovyesov reach in the final of ATP World Tennis Championship

ISLAMABAD:-Pakistan’s tennis star Aisam Qureshi pairing with Alexander Nedovyesov stormed into the final of ATP World Tennis Championship after thrashing their opponents 2-1 in the Doubles’ Fixture at the Delrey Beach United States of America (USA).
According to available information from abroad, they outplayed an all American pair of Alex Lawson and Robert Galloway in a three sets thriller with the score-line of 6-3,6-7 and 10-4. At one stage, Aisam and his partner were leading at 6-3 and 5-4 and serving the match point at 40-40 when Alexander missed a volley and were broken back. The American pair took full advantage of this good luck and went on to clinch the second set in a tie break however in super tie break Aisam and partner totally dominated the court and won it 10-4.
Aisam Qureshi and Alexander Nedovyesov will meet Dutch/El Salvador duo of Rojer Julien and Marcelo Arevalo in the final.
Pakistan earn third position in the ITF World Juniors Team Event

Adnan Khan wins ITC Tennis League

ISLAMABAD:-Adnan Khan has won the Single title of Islamabad Tennis Complex (ITC) Tennis League while Abdul Wasay won Under-12 and Under-14 Tennis League titles. Total 30 players from different clubs participated in the league and around 50 matches were played on round robin format. The ITC Tennis League was sponsored by KhadejaLaghari.

ITF Tennis: Russian lad Ivan Iutkin clinches back-to-back second ITF junior tennis title

ISLAMABAD:-Ivan Iutkin from Russia has won second back-to-back ITF Juniors title after defeating Mehmet Onur Turgut from Turkey in straight sets 2-0 in the Boys’ Singles final of the ITF Pakistan Elaan Syed Dilawar Abbas Memorial World Junior Tennis Championships that concluded at PTF-S DA Tennis Complex, Islamabad on Saturday. It is pertinent to mention here at Ivan Iutkin had claimed the ITF Tennis crown at the same venue after beating Kazak lad Aldiyar Abzhan 2-0 on February 12, 2022.
Unseeded Ivan Iutkin ousted Mehmet Onur Turgut in a straight sets with the score-line of 6-4 and 6-3, as the match lasted 1 hour and 14 minutes. Both the players exhibit high standard of tennis and moved forward equally till the game score was leveled 4-4. In the 9th game Ivan Iutkin was down 0-40, however, he changed the strategy of the game and fought back bravely to secure the game and make the score 5-4. In the 10th game Ivan played extraordinary and finished the first at 6-4. In the second set Ivan again showed his supremacy to build-up the lead 4-2 by breaking 4th game of Turgut and continued his winning pace till the end of set and match 6-3. Ivan showed a remarkable speed and exhibited excellent tennis.
Sa Rang Lim overcomes Andra Izabella in Girls’ Singles final
Earlier, in the morning session, unseeded Sa Rang Lim of Korea annexed the Girls Singles title and caused the major upset when she toppled top seed Andra Izabella Sirbu of Romania in an exciting thrilling three sets match at 6-1, 2-6 and 6-4, which lasted 2 hours and 30 minutes. Andra Izabella took a flying start 3-0 against Sa Rang Lim by breaking the 1st and 3rd game and continued the same pressure and won the set at 6-1.
In the 2nd set, Sa Rang Lim fought back bravely and played excellent tennis from the baseline, and leveled the match 1-set all by breaking the 1st, 3rd, and 5th game of Andra Izabella. The actual battle of supremacy was started in the final set which was marked with drop shots, powerful forehand, backhand drives, and cross-court down the line shots, and saw some exhilarating tennis as both the players reached 4-games all. Sa Rang Lim broke the 9th game of Andra by playing powerful forehand and backhand drives at 15-40 and then in the 10th game she maintained the same pace of the game to win the set and match at 6-4 and gained valuable World Ranking points to improve her international ranking.

Salim Saifullah Khan President Pakistan Tennis Federation graced the occasion as chief guest, whereas Tariq Mehmood Murtaza President Islamabad Tennis Association along with Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, Ambassador of Turkey, Yerzhan Kistafin - Ambassador of Kazakhstan. Irena Gancheva, Ambassador of Bulgaria and diplomat from Russian Embassy and Yasir from Elaan group were present at the prize distribution ceremony.

ISLAMABAD:-Pakistani teenagers Sami Zeb Khan and Haseesh Kumar have won the Boys’ Doubles title after beating heavy weights Yunes Talavar from Iran pairing with Aril Kayra Tuna from Turkey Doubles’ final of ITF Pakistan Elaan Syed Dilawar Abbas Memorial World Junior Tennis Championships at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex Islamabad on Friday. The final score-line was 6-2, 5-7 and 10-8.
In the morning, talented unseeded pair Taira Abildayeva and Tatyana Chsherbakova of Kazakhstan annexed the Girls Doubles title by eliminating the duo of Korean Eunsoo Lee and Sa Rang Lim in an exciting well contested two-set match at 6-4 6-3, which lasted 1 hour 16 minutes. In the opening set, all the players exhibited excellent tennis with a combination of cross-court and down-the-line shots till the score went up to 3-all. The duo of Kazakhstan then changed their game and played some powerful forehand shots down the line and broke the 7th game of Sa Rang Lim of Korea to build a winning lead 5-3. In the 10th game, Taira and Chsherbakova showed their strength by hitting a powerful serve game to finish the set at 6-4.
In the 2nd set, Taira and Chsherbakova build up a winning lead 4-1 by breaking the 3rd and 5th game of Rang Sa Lim & Lee Eunsoo respectively. At this stage, Korean players played excellent tennis and tried to come back into the match and reduced the winning lead of Kazak players 3-5 by breaking the 6th and 8th games of Taira and Chsherbakova respectively. The 9th game saw some exhilarating tennis as both the teams played incredible shots and the Koreans showed their resistance and both teams were fighting for each point which lasted in favor of Kazakhstan.
In the evening, Semi Zeb Khan and Hasheesh Kumar of Pakistan clinched the Boys Doubles title by beating top seed Yunes Talavar of Iran pairing with Aril Kayra Tuna of Turkey in a well-contested three sets match 6-2 5-7 10-8. In the opening set Semi Zeb and Hasheesh took an early lead by breaking 4th and 6th game and wrapping up the set by breaking the 8th game at 6-2. Aril and Yunes changed the strategy and fought back bravely to level the match 1 set all by winning the set at 7-5. All the players exhibited excellent tennis. In the deciding super tie break, again both the teams played well and tried hard to clinch the title but at 8-all Pakistan duo were lucky to convert the point into winning shot which was intercepted by Aril and landed in the net. Match lasted 1 hr 20 minutes. Boys Doubles final was witnessed by Mr. Hassan Baig Senior Executive Vice President ITA and Mr. Yasir of Elaan Marketing.
Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of Kazakhstan, witnessed the Girls’ Doubles final and interacted with both the teams, coaches, parents and officials.

ISLAMABAD:-Ivan Iutkin from Russia and Mehmet Onur Turgut from Turkey have qualified for the final of Boys Singles of the ITF Pakistan Elaan Syed Dilawar Abbas Memorial World Junior Tennis Championships after thrashing their rivals in the semifinals at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad on Thursday. Final will be played on Saturday at the same venue.
In the first semifinal of Boys Singles, Mehmet Onur Turgut of Turkey was in fine touch and proved too good for local guy Hasheesh Kumar of Pakistan. Both the players played a brilliant combination of down the line and cross-court shots from the baseline till the score reached 5-5 all by holding their own serves but in the 11th game, Turgut fought bravely and was able to break the game of Hasheesh Kumar and built up the winning lead 6-5 and then in the 12th game Turgut wrapped up the set 7-5.
In the second set, Turgut started the set aggressively and broke the first game of Hasheeh Kumar, and built up a winning lead 3-1, as the 5th game of Kumar was the longest game of the set which was marked by long rallies and crosscourt shots and Kumar reduced the lead to 3-2. At this stage, Turgut changed the pace of the game and broke the 9th game of Kumar to seal his position in the Boys Singles final by winning the match 7-5 6-3. The match lasted 1 hour 51 minutes.
Unseeded Ivan Iutkin of Russia continued his winning pace and confirmed his position for the final by defeating the 3rd seed Sherazhetdinov Ruslan of Russia in a straight-set win 6-3 6-3.
In the first semi-final of girls Singles top-seeded, Romania Andra Izabella Sirbu whitewashed her opponent, Seo Hyeon Park of Korea, without conceding a single game 6-0 6-0 and will vie for the top honor to play final of girls singles. In the second semi-final, unseeded Korean Sa Rang Lim outclassed 8th seed Chsherbakova Tatyana of Kazakhstan in a straight-set win 6-2 6-0.
In the first doubles semi-final, Semi Zeb Khan & Hasheesh Kumar of Pakistan moved into the final with imposing victories over their opponents to beat 4th seed duo from Bortnichek Nikita of Russia and Kanbargimath Dev of Romania in a straight-set 6-4 6-0 by playing high caliber and remarkable tennis. In the second semi-final top seed, Talavar Yunes of Iran and Tuna Arial Kayra of Turkey struggled hard to win their battle against Pakistani duo Muhammad Talha Khan and Muhammad Huzaifa Khan in a thrilling two-set match. Iranian and Turkish pair played aggressive took a lead 1-0 after winning the first set at 6-4. In the second set, both the teams played excellent tennis and by holding their respective serves reached 5-5 games all. Talavar and Tuna played consistent tennis and broke the 11th game of Huzaifa to build up the winning lead 6-5 and in the 12th game Tuna served excellent and did not allow their opponent to stay in the match and winding up 7-5. The match lasted 1 hr 5 minutes.
In the Girls Doubles event; unseeded Eunsoo Lee (KOR) & Sa Rang Lim (KOR) made the major upset by beating the top seed in a straight-set and other unseeded pair Taira Abildayeva (KAZ) & Tatyana Chsherbakova (KAZ) beat the second seed in a well-contested three sets match.

ITF Pakistan Tennis Championships: Talha and Huzaifa reach in semifinals of Boys Doubles

ISLAMABAD:-Duo of local players Mohammad Talha Khan and Mohammad Huzaifa Khan reached in the semifinals of Boys’ Doubles Event of the ongoing ITF Pakistan Elaan Syed Dilawar Abbas Memorial World Junior Tennis Championships here at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex on Wednesday. They overcame Russian lads Ivan Iutkin and Ruslan Serazhetdinov 2-1, as the final score-line was 7-5, 5-7 and 11-9.
In the Boys Doubles event; talented Mohammad Talha Khan pairing with Mohammad Huzaifa Khan defeated the 3rd seed duo of Russia Ivan Iutkin & Ruslan Serazhetdinov in a thrilling three-set match. All the players played excellent tennis throughout the match, in the first set Russian players took the lead 3-1 but Talha and Huzaifa fought back aggressively and leveled the score 5-5 all by breaking the 10th game of Ivan & Ruslan. In the 12th game, Talha & Huzaifa played a well-controlled game and did not allow Ivan & Ruslan to hold their service which ended with a double fault and took the lead 1-0.
In the second set, Ivan & Ruslan played well and took the second set in the same fashion to level the match 1-1 set all by breaking the 11th game of Khan brothers. The actual supremacy of the battle was held in the super tie break which was won by the Khan-brother at 11-9. In another Doubles quarter-final, Semi Zeb Khan & Hasheesh Kumar of Pakistan showed their metal and comfortably defeated Abdul Hanan of Pakistan pairing with Liviu Popirlan of Romania in a straight-set 6-3 6-0.
In the Boys Singles quarter-final, unseeded Hasheesh Kumar of Pakistan confirmed his place for the semi-final when he defeated Bilal Asim of Pakistan in a well-contested three-set match. In the opening set Asim Bilal played excellently and garbed the set at 6-2 by breaking the 3rd, 5th, and 7th game of Kumar. In the 2nd set Hasheesh Kumar played well and took revenge by breaking the 2nd and 8th game of Bilal and leveling the match, 1-1 set all. The deciding set saw some exhilarating tennis as both the players reached 4-games all and then in the 10th game Hasheesh played some excellent shots and broke Bilal to seal his place in the semi-final.

ISLAMABAD:-On Tuesday, a major upset took place in a Boys Singles event, as the unseeded qualifier Mehmet Onur Turgut of Turkey breezed in the quarter-final stage by eliminating second seed Nikita Safonov of Russia in a straight sets with the score-line of 6-4 and 6-0 in the second round of ITF Pakistan Elaan Syed Dilawar Abbas Memorial World Junior Tennis Championships here at PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad.
In the boys singles event, unseeded Hasheesh Kumar of Pakistan contentedly won over 4th seed Aldiyar Abzhan of Kazakhstan in a straight-set match 6-1 6-2. Hasheesh Kumar took a flying start at the beginning of the match and did not allow his opponent to settle down and finished the set at 6-1 by breaking the 2nd & 4th game of Aldiyar. In the second set, Hasheesh kept the same pressure and wrap-up the match in just 46 minutes. Another upset was caused when unseeded Mehmet Onur Turgut of Turkey brushed-off 2nd Seed Safanov Nikita of Russia in a straight-set win 6-4 6-0.
In the girls' event, Unseeded Taira Abildayeva of Kazakhstan overtook 3rd Seed Tamara Ermakova of Russia. In the first set, Taira won at 6-3 by breaking the 1st and 9th game of Tamara. In the second set 0-2 Tamara left the match due to an ankle sprain Grade-1 injury. Another unseeded Eunsoo Lee of Korea defeated 4th seed Olga Sorochkina of Russia in a well contested straight-set match 6-3 7-6(1).

On the opening match, unseeded Ivan Lutkin of Russia eliminated top seed Yunes Talavar of Iran in a well-contested three-set match. In the first set both the players broke the first game of each other and then Ivan did not allow his opponent to settle down and broke the 4th and 6th game of Yunes to finish at 6-1. In the second set, Yunes Talavar played excellently and completed the set at 6-2 by breaking the 2nd, 6th and 8th game of Ivan and level the match 1-1 all. In the final set both the players exhibited a high standard of tennis in which Ivan made it at 6-4 by breaking the 9th game of Yunes in which Yunes made one double fault. The other good match of the day was played between Adiibek Myrzaguzhin of Kazakhstan and Huzaifa Abdul Rehman of Pakistan which was won by the Kazak player in the thrilling three-sets match 4-6 6-3 6-1.
