Inter-Club Basketball: Dynamites, Timber Wolves, Raptors Whites and Generals claim victories
Sports Reporter ISLAMABAD:-Dynamites, Timber Wolves, Reporters Whites and Generals claimed victories in the Inter-Club Floodlit Basketball Tournament after beating their rivals at F-6 Multi Purpose Center Islamabad. In the first match, Dynamits beat Lycons by 58-16. Zeeshan Bhatti and Mohammad Abdullah scored 14 and 15 points respectively. Timber Wolves beat Jaguars by 51-32 in the 2nd match. Ali Hamza Kazmi and Raheel Bhatti from Timber Wolves scored 12 and 10 respectively. Rizwan ul Haq and Abdullah Bin Umer scored 06 and 15 points respectively for Jaguars. Later, in the 3rd match of the day, Raptors White defeated Thunders by 37-33. Khurram Changaiz 10 and Usman Zaib 14 top scorers for winner side. Yasin Ghafoor and Waqas scored 13 & 09 respectively for Thunders. In the last and fourth match Generals beat Dementors  by 51-09. Shumail Shigri scored 20 and Abdullah Nasir 10 from Generals.
Inter-Club Basketball Tournament: United Kings beat Thunders 70-40 in opening fixture
Sports Reporter ISLAMABAD:-United Kings, Rawalpindi Champs, SA Gardner, Raptors Reds, Bulls and Raptors Whites have their respective matches on the opening day of the Inter-Club Basketball Tournament after beating their respective opponents at F-6 Multi Purpose Center Islamabad on Saturday night. In the opening match of the tournament United Kings defeated Thunders 70-40 points while Rawalpindi Champs overcame Jaguars with the narrow margin of 33-30. SA Gardner outclassed Ball Magician  by 52-25. Raptors Reds beat Dynamites by 42-30 and Bulls beat Timber Wolves 45-36 while Raptors Whites defeated Bahria Wolves 37-33 in the last match of the day. Tournament is being played under the auspices of Federation Basketball Association (FBA) in collaboration with Capital Development Authority (CDA). General Secretary, Federal Basketball Association, Oaj E Zahoor said the final of the tournament will be played on April 21, 2022 at the same venue. Inter-Club Basketball Tournament from Sunday
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-As many as 16 teams will take part in the Inter-Club Basketball Tournament that will be kicked off from Sunday (April 17, 2022) at Multipurpose Sports Center F-6 Islamabad regarding the Ramadan Sports Festival under the banner of Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI) in the collaboration with Federal Basketball Association (FBA). According to secretary FBA Ouj-e-Zahoor, 16 teams will fight for top honour during the 5-day fixture, as 16 teams have been divided into four pools while top two from each group will move into next round. President FBA, Ejaz Rafi Butt will be chief guest at the opening ceremony. Also top officials of CDA, MCI and FBA will attend the opening ceremony. Asian Rugby Championship from May 29
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE:-Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) will host Asian Rugby Championship DIV II (15side) in Lahore from 29th May to 4th June 2022. According to an official of PRU, four teams of the region will participate in the 6-day mega Asian event including hosts Pakistan, Thailand, Chinese Taipei and China. The event was allocated to Pakistan in 2020 but due to Covid situation was not possible to organize. Now, the situation has improved in the Pakistan and Asia, so we got confirmation about these teams which we will host this year in Lahore. PRU already hosts a lot of Asian events past senior and junior level. Pakistan Rugby Union Head coach Shakeel Ahmed Malik is already hunting the players all over Pakistan. PRU already made a selection committee to finalize the 22 member team. Rizwan ur Rab Malik, Mohsin Khan, Muzamil Khan Waziree and Shakeel Ahmed Malik are the part of the National Selection Committee. Rugby is one of popular sports in Pakistan where in universities and colleges Rugby scholarship programs continue from the last many years. PRU has many men and women rugby teams in southern Punjab.

Pakistan WAPDA earn Double Titles of National Netball Championship 2022
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-Pakistan WAPDA clinched double titles of the 21st National Netball Championship after winning both Men’s and Women’s finals at Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad on Thursday. In Men’s final WAPDA snatched the victory from Pakistan Army with the difference of solitary point 24-23 while Women’s fixture WAPDA females defeated Higher Education Commission (HEC) 22-11. Director General, Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), Col (Retd) Asif Zaman graced the prize distribution as a chief guest and distributed the trophies, medals and certificates among the players. When he entered the Laiquat Gymnasium the referee pushed the button of the buzzer of the final round. Zaman did not see a glimpse of the final match that showed the interest of Asif Zaman, who is the head of Pakistan’s top sports organization Pakistan Sports Board (PSB). The men’s final was a nail and bite contest and players of both teams exhibited top quality game. Army were leading in the first three quarters respectively 6-4, 15-14 and 21-20 but WAPDA players snatched the victory from them in the last quarter, as they cleverly defended the last attempt of Army men in the last minutes. The final score was 24-23. Army players were not satisfied with the various decisions of umpires. Yasir Javad and Anwar Ahmed supervised the men’s final. President, Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF), Mudassar Arian, Secretary Syed Gohar Raza, Director General, Wapda Sports Board, Mohammad Musharaf, Mehar Sajid (Navy) and other officials of PNF and PSB were present in the prize distribution ceremony. National Netball Championship starts at Pakistan Sports Complex

World Snooker Champion Ahsan Ramzan honored
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE:-Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) Secretary General Moazzam Khan Klair believes that huge rewards for Pakistan’s world champions can further motivate the future stars of the country to win international glories. Moazzam said this while addressing the ceremony to honour new Pakistan World Snooker Champion Ahsan Ramzan here the other day. He also handed over the national blazer pin to the champion and wished him, his coach and the federation best for the future endeavours. Pakistan Sports Board Director Nasrullah Rana, Punjab Cycling Association President Adnan Ahsan Khan, Secretary Shahzada Butt and Treasurer Amjad Khan were also present on the occasion.  The PCF Secretary urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to fully patronize Pakistan sports and sportsmen and provide them all-out support morally, financially as well as regarding the international-standard facilities. “Sports is now one of the biggest industries across the world and many big nations are using them to boost their finances and also to strengthen their relations with other countries.  “Not only this, big sports nations have already done 10 to 20 years of planning as they plan for at least 3 to 4 Olympics in advance and start investing, so that they may claim maximum medals in the Olympics. If we, the country of very talented youth, want to win Olympics medal, we need to invest heavily on sports and also there is a dire need to reward our world champions with huge prizes as it will encourage and motivate future stars to achieve bigger than them and ultimately, it will add honour to Pakistan globally,” Moazzam asserted.  PSB Director Nasrullah Rana also assured the new snooker champion of PSB’s all-out support and vowed that the champion will be taken care of well by the government and he will be provided with ample opportunities and the best facilities so that he may continue to win laurels for Pakistan in international events.
Annual Sports Gala of International Islamic University Islamabad concludes
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) Schools PWD and Gulraiz Campuses held a colorful Annual Sports Gala at Jinnah Sports Complex Islamabad. Hundrads of the students and parents participated in different games. Seemabia Tahir Member Punjab Assembly and Spokesperson, Punjab Government was the chief guest at the opening ceremony. Syndicate Member of UET Taxila, Syndicate Member of RWP Women University, Member for board of Governor NAMAL and Member Selection Board UET Taxila were also among the special guests. The Event started with Qiraat from the verses of The Holy Quran and its Translation. Director IIUI Schools Mr Shehzad and Principals from both campuses gave a welcome note. March past of all levels (both branches) was a wonderful show. Students also sung the IIUI & IIUI School anthem and released Balloons in the air on arrival of Chief Guest. Students participated in different races like cow, rabbit, Sheep, lion, Giraffe, frog races in a beautiful getup. Karate display of students from different classes was presented in a beautiful manner. Rally race, sack and cycle race was an event worth seeing. Father's Tug of War and race was also an event able to be appreciated. Chief Guest distributed prizes among the winners of the games including Fathers of the students. While addressing the ceremony Seemabia Tahir said: “I have been extremely pleased to participate in this healthy sports event. It is a great achievement to successfully hold such a mega event. I congratulate Director Mohammad Shehzad, Principals Syeda Sidra Moazzam and Misbah Latif, Vice Principals, all Heads of Departments, faculty and students who all have made excellent contributions towards this event. It was more of a carnival where many sorts of cultural events were displayed. Most of all I congratulate the students who have displayed extreme discipline and competed for different events in a spirit of peaceful co-ordination and amity. The rank and file of varsity all deserves my thanks and hearty congratulations. She again appreciated the performance of the students and added that now-a-days such events are being increasingly recognized as an essential component of one’s life from both the educational and social perspective. It builds confidence, motivation and above all a sportsman’s spirit. Such activities also foster friendship and teamwork among students”. Director Mohammad Shehzad said: It was highly commendable on the part of parents for participating in such an activity, which is imperative to help build the life skills of sportsmanship, outdoor activities and physical fitness. Cultural and Sports activities are indeed a great help to keep our children and communities physically as well as mentally healthy. While talking to the media a student Wania Kashif from Grade-10 said that it was a great day for me to take part in such a healthy activity. Aashir Ahmed Khan from Grade-9 said that he felt very happy at this occasion.  Ibad-ur-Rehman from grade four and Areej Fatima from grade five were also very happy at this occasion and told the media that I desire such types of events to be made a part of the annual calendar of every school.  Hadia, Fizza, Ali Hassan, Faheem and many other students were also very happy and expressed the same feelings. The Gala ended with the National Anthem.
BARI IMAM SCHOOL WIN AHC-PCB GIRLS CRICKET CUP
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-The Mashal Modal School Bari Imam (MMSBI) have won the 6th AHC-PCB Girls’ Cricket Cup after beating Islamabad Modal School for Girls (IMSG)’ F-6/1 here at F-9 Cricket ground on Wednesday, as the tournament was played under the banner of Australian High Commission (AHC) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that aimed to train the girls to enhance their game skills. In the final, IMSG scored 44 runs in 5 overs, as the Mashal School achieved their target in 4.4 overs. The four teams from different schools including Mashal Model School Bari Imam, SOS Children’s Village H-11, Islamabad Model School for Girls F-6/1 and Islamabad Model School for Girls I-9/1 Islamabad are the part of tournament. The girls attended a five-day coaching clinic in the lead-up to the competition conducted by PCB first class cricket coaches. On this occasion, Australia’s Chargé d’ Affaires, Bryce Hutchesson congratulated the girls and the schools on their participation and welcomed the continued support of the PCB for the annual AHC-PCB Girls’ Cricket Cup. “The Australian High Commission has been sponsoring girls’ cricket in Pakistan since 2016 to promote gender equality through sport. We began with a single annual tournament in Islamabad but have since expanded to Lahore and Karachi,” Hutchesson added. “Our countries share a passion for cricket, so we’re very pleased to support this event. Cricket and other sports can help tear down barriers and stereotypes. Every time these girls make some runs, take a wicket or hold a catch, they are taking a step towards greater equality,” he said. Hutchesson further said that High Commission was particularly happy to support the initiative during the Australian Cricket Team’s historic tour to Pakistan. “It’s an exciting time for cricket fans in both Australia and Pakistan. Cricket is one of the many bonds that bring our countries together,” he said.  The Head of Women’s Cricket at PCB, Tania Mallick said: “On the auspicious occasion of the International Women's Day yesterday, with the Australian Cricket men's team playing in Pakistan after decades – it is a privilege to in collaborate with the Australian High Commission to organise this cricket event for underprivileged girls.” “The Australian High Commission with the support of PCB always played a vital role in promoting women cricket and investing in the empowerment of women in Pakistan. Jhelum Stallions claim the title of Urtasker Football Championship 2022
Abdullah Asjad ISLAMABAD:-Jhelum Stallions overcame The Markhors 2-1 on penalty kicks in the final to lift the title of the 6th Urtasker Football Championship 2022 that held at Zaraj Football Ground, Giga Mall Islamabad on Saturday. A-day soccer event was sponsored by Burj Yaqub Jhelum, and in collaboration with World Group & Leisure Leagues. There were 12 pool matches among 8 teams, and the qualifiers played the semifinals and final. The other teams included Pindi Badshah, Black Panther, Digital Squad, New Yorkers, Urtasker Hawks, and Urtasker United. Ch. Ghulam Ahmed Zamurrad (Chairman, Burj Yaqub, Jhelum) was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He appreciated the efforts of Urtasker to bring the game of football into the limelight and organized such a thrilling contest. He further said that these events were vital for improving mental and physical health.
