Asif Abbasi determines to make big mark in Wheelchair Tennis
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD (September 10, 2021):-Wheelchair tennis player, Asif Gul Abbasi determined to bring glory for the country and to hoist the national flag in international arenas of wheelchair tennis. While talking to this scribe over his mobile from London, he said that he had won the wheelchair tennis international tournament in 2018 in the UK. “I won a total of three international tennis tournaments so far, “he added. Asif further said that he was the only Pakistani guy, who had broken into top 100 best world ranking 82 in the world in October 2018. “I won 16 National series wheelchair tennis tournaments in the UK in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and was declared best player thrice in same years. Now, I am 145th spot in the international wheelchair tennis ranking, “he maintained. Responding to a question, he said that he achieved these honours without any support or help from any organisation. “Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) should support me and I can win the medals in the international games including Paralympics in future. I met with PTF officials in the past when I visited Pakistan a few months back but their response was not appreciate-able, “he lamented. “I had contacted Pakistan Paralympics and requested them to send my name for Paralympics 2020 but they did not take this seriously because of the negligence of the Paralympics officials in Pakistan. Unfortunately I could not represent Pakistan in these games. I had asked an official well in time before the setting of Paralympics, “he replied. Asif said that Pakistan Tennis Federation officials did not give him due respect and acknowledged his services to Pakistan. “I am also a level 3 tennis coach and have vast experience in tennis and I can train and provide training to budding tennis lads specially wheelchair tennis players in Pakistan, “he concluded.

Pakistan Japan Davis Cup Tennis Tie: Japan sweep 4-0
ABDUL JABBAR FAISAL ISLAMABAD (March 6, 2021):-Japan beat Pakistan 4-0 in the Davis Cup World Tennis Ties at the Grass Courts of Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad on Saturday. Aisam and Aqeel Khan disappointed the top officials of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), as well as whole nation. Pakistan player could win only a single set in four matches. On Saturday, In the Doubles fixture, Mochizuki Shintaro pairing with Shimabukuro Sho overcame local guys Aisam Qureshi and Aqeel Khan 2-1 in a three sets fuss. The final score-line was 4-6, 6-4 and 6-2. In the second match of the day, Shimizu Yuta outplayed Muzammil Murtaza in straight sets 2-0 with score-line 6-1, 6-1 in a one-sided affair. Davis Cup Tennis Tie: Japan earn 2-0 lead
ABDUL JABBAR FAISAL ISLAMABAD (March 5, 2021):-Young Japanese players outclassed hosted top duo of tennis players Aisam-ul-Haq and Aqeel Khan in straight sets on Friday on the opening day of Davis Cup World Tennis Ties at the Grass Courts of Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad. The match rest of three matches including Doubles and Reverse Singles will be played on Saturday at same venue. In the first match of the day, Yosuke Watauki stunned Aqeel Khan 2-0 in straight sets with the score-line of 6-3 and 6-2 after displaying wonderful game of tennis that was blend of beautiful forehands and backhands drives in addition classic drop shorts, as top Pakistani guy failed to encounter his opponent to win the match in great style at home soil. The officials of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) were disappointed on this occasion, as the top guys produced blew the mark performance despite of having home ground advantage. Later on, in the second match, Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi , 41 lost his match against 26 years old Kaichi Ucnid 0-2 without showing any resistance. At one stage of the first set the score was leveled at 4-4 but Japanese lad broke the game of Qureshi and made the score 5-4. He retained his serves at won the set at 6-4. However, second set was tie 6-6 but visitor player did not allow local here to score the winning points, as tiebreak score was 6-4. Kaichi won the match at 6-4 and 7-6. Davis Cup Tennis Tie: Aqeel takes on Yosuke in the opening fixture
ABDUL JABBAR FAISAL ISLAMABAD (March 4, 2021):-Pakistan top national tennis player Aqeel Khan will take on Yosuke Watanuki of Japan in the opening fixture of Davis Cup Tennis Ties that will be kicked off on Friday at the Grass Courts of Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad. The match will start at 11:00 pm. According to an official of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) that media persons would not be allowed to cover the prestigious international tennis event owing the Covid-19 pandemic. Later, the second match of the day will be played between international guy Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Kaichi Uchida. Non-Playing captain of Pakistan team Mushaf Zia hoped that team would perform up to mark and produce historical results. “We toiled hard in the court and all team member are fit and willing to deliver his performance against Japan, “he viewed.  The Official Draw of Davis Cup World Group I tie held at the Aisam ul Haq Pavilion, Pakistan Sports Complex, with strict adherence to ITF COVID-19 protocols. ITF World Juniors: Sam Baumgartner and Birtan Duran win Doubles title
ABDUL JABBAR FAISAL ISLAMABAD (February 5, 2021):- Sam Kydd Baumgartner paring with Birtan Duran have won the Boys Doubles title of PTF President ITF World J5 Junior Tennis Championship after beating their opponents Dmitry Dolzhenkov and Artiom Dorofeev 2-0 in single sided final at PTF Tennis Complex on Friday. Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi, Deputy Mayor Islamabad, visited PTF Complex along with Mansoor Ahmed DDG PSB to witness some of the matches, and he was extremely happy with the arrangements and organization of the events. He also paid compliments to President PTF and his team in ensuring that so many foreign players have decided to come to Islamabad. SBP Open Tennis Championship conclude
SPORTS REPORT LAHORE (January 30, 2021):- Ahmad Kamil defeated Imran Bhatti 2-1 in the final of Men's Singles and Haniya Minhas thrashed Ashtafila Arif by 6-0, 6-0 to bag the title of Ladies Singles category on the last day of the championship. In the U-18 Boys’ category final, Hasheesh Kumar emerged triumphant against Faizan Fayyaz with the score of 6-2, 6-2 while the U-18 Girls’ category title went to Haniya Minhas. She trounced Natalia Zaman by 6-0, 6-1. Vice-Chairman Sports Board Punjab Rao Zahid Qayyum said Sports Board Punjab will continue to extend full cooperation for the promotion of tennis in the province; he said this while talking to media at the prize distribution ceremony of Sports Board Punjab (SBP) Open Tennis Championship 2021 at Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah on Saturday. Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, Director Tournament Rashid Malik and a large number of young tennis players and fans were also present on this occasion. Around 15 matches were played on the 4th day of the mega event. All the final matches will be played at the same venue on Saturday at 3:00pm.
