ISLAMABAD (January 1, 2022):-Top seed Aqeel Khan, Mohammad Shoaib, Mohammad Abid and Muzammil Murtaza qualified for the Men’s Singles semifinals of the 7th Begum Kulsum Saifullah Khan (BKSK) National Ranking Tennis Tournaments 2021-22 after beating Shahzad Khan, Heera Ashiq, Mudassir Murtaza and Yousaf Khalil respectively straight sets 2-0 at SDA-PTF Tennis Complex, garden Avenue Islamabad on Saturday.
Meanwhile, in the Ladies Singles, Sarah Mahboob defeated Noor Malik 6-4 and 6-1 in the first semifinal while Ushna Suhail outclassed Mahvish Chishtie 2-0 with the score-line of 6-0 and 6-1. The Ladies’ Singles final will be played on Sunday morning at the same venue.

ISLAMABAD (December 31, 2021):- Promising national tennis girl, Noor Malik claimed a valuable victory in the Women’s Singles discipline of the ongoing 7th Begum Kulsum Saifullah Khan (BKSK) National Ranking Tennis Tournaments 2021-22 after trouncing Sheeza Sajid 2-1 in a sensational three sets challenge at SDA-PTF Tennis Complex, garden Avenue Islamabad on Friday. The final score-line was 3-6, 6-0 and 6-3.
Also, in a Men’s Singles contest between Mudasir Murtaza and Barkatullah was a nice challenging contest in which Mudasir overcame his rival 2-1 with the score-line of 6-3, 3-6 and 6-2, as the rest of all seven match of Round-2 ended in straight sets. Hera Ashiq, Shahzad Khan, Mohammad Abid, Mohammad Shoaib, Muzammil Murtaza, Yousaf Khalil and Aqeel Khan have qualified for the top-8 stage of the prestigious national tennis showpiece.

ISLAMABAD (December 30, 2021):-Heera Ashiq, Yousaf Khalil, Barkatullah, Faizan Fayyaz and Muzammil Murtaza moved into the second round of the Men’s Single Event of the ongoing 7th Begum Kulsum Saifullah Khan National Ranking Tennis Tournaments-2021-22 after beating their respective opponents in the quarterfinal at SDA-PTF Tennis Complex Garden Avenue on Thursday.
Heera Ashiq defeated Mahatir Mohammad with the score of 6-2 and 6-1 in straight sets in the Men’s Singles fixture. Yousaf Khalil had to toil hard in the court to overcome Mohammad Talha Khan 2-1 in a three sets thriller. The final score-lone was 5-7, 6-0 and 6-4.
Barkatullah claimed in a straight sets victory against Abdul Hanan at 7-5 and 6-1; Faizan Fayyaz beat Parbhat Kumar 2-1 at 6-4, 2-6 and 6-1 while Muzammil Murtaza ousted Talha Bin Asif without conceding a single game at 6-0 and 6-0

ISLAMABAD (December):-Top seed Aqeel Khan has won the Men’s Singles title of the 6th Serena Hotels National Ranking Tennis Championships 2021 after beating Mohammad Shoaib 2-0 in the final at SDA-PTF Tennis Complex Islamabad on Sunday. The final score-line was 6-2 and 7-5.
Earlier, in Ladies Singles final, Ushna Suhail outclassed Sarah Mahboob in straight sets 2-0, as she conceded a single game in boths sets. It was a single sided contest in the final. The final score-line was just 6-0 and 6-1.

National Ranking: Shoaib and Aqeel set their clash in the final

ISLAMABAD (December 25, 2021):-Pakistan number one tennis player Aqeel Khan and upcoming lad Mohammad Shoaib set their clash in the final of the Men’s Single event of the 6th Serena Hotels National Ranking Tennis Tournament 2021 after winning the semifinals at SDA-PTF Tennis Complex garden Avenue on Saturday. Final will be played on Sunday at the same venue in the morning.
On Saturday in the first semifinal of the Men’s Singles, Mohammad Shoaib defeated Muzammil Murtaza in straight sets 2-0 with the score line of 6-3 and 6-3, revenged his last defeat from the hands of Muzzamil in the final of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed National Tennis Championship last Sunday at Islamabad Tennis Complex G-6, by playing excellent game and did not show any leniency during the whole match. It is pertinent to mention here that Mohammad Shoaib had overcome Aqeel Khan in the semifinal of the same championship 2-1.
Later, in the second semifinal, Aqeel Khan got rid of Mohammad Abid 2-0, as the winner guy had to toil hard in the first set to overcome his rival. The final score-line was 7-6(5) and 6-2. Top seed Aqeel Khan saved 2 set points in the first set before beating Mohammad Abid at score of 7-6(5) and 6-2.

Muzzamil stuns Shoaib 2-1 in the BB Tennis Championship final

ISLAMABAD (December 19, 2021):- Muzzamil Murtaza stunned Mohammed Shoaib 2-1 in Men’s Singles final of the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Tennis Championship that concluded at Islamabad tennis Complex on Sunday. The final score-line was 6-4, 4-6 and 6-3.
Mohammad Shoaib, who had toppled Aqeel Khan in the semifinal 2-1 in the semifinal at the same venue, unexpectedly completely failed to manage a victory in the final. He lost the first set at 4-6, as his rival Muzzamil Murtaza displayed top quality tennis and hit some powerful and returnable shorts from down the line.
In the second set, Shoaib did well and leveled the match 1-1 after claiming the set at 6-4 but he could not maintain the same pace and game in the decisive 3rd and final set. Muzzamil Murtaza finished the set at 6-3 to become the champion. Chief guest, Senator Farhat-ullah Babar distributed the prizes among the winners and runner-up.

ISLAMABAD (December 18, 2021):-Pakistan number one tennis player Aqeel Khan pairing with Mohammad Abid claimed the Men’s Doubles title of the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Tennis Championship after beating Heera Ashiq and Yousaf Khalil in straight sets 2-0 at Islamabad Tennis Complex on Saturday. The final score-line was just 6-3 and 6-0.
In the first semifinal of Men’s Singles Event, Mohammad Shoaib defeated top national veteran tennis player Aqeel Khan second time in a week 2-1 in a three sets thrilling contest. Earlier, last Saturday (December 11) Mohammad Shoaib had outplayed Aqeel Khan in the final of Federal Cup at PTF Tennis Complex. However, this Saturday (December 18) at one stage Shoaib won as the first set at 6-4 and second was leveled 6-6 but the Shoaib missed three match points. Aqeel kept the nerves in control and played an excellent game and bounced back in the match by snatching the second set at 7-6. Shoaib finished third set at 6-4 to reach the final where he would take on Muzzamil Murtaza on Sunday at the same venue. Muzzamil defeated Yousaf Khalil in straight sets 2-0 in a single sided affair. Senator Farhat-ullah Baber will grace the final ceremony as the chief guest along with other senators to distribute the prizes among the players on Sunday at the same venue.

BB Tennis: Aqeel and Shoaib set to meet in first semifinal

ISLAMABAD (December 17, 2021):-Veteran Aqeel Khan will take on rising star and winner of the Federal Cup, Mohammad Shoaib in the first semifinal of the Men’s Singles discipline of the ongoing 6th Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Tennis Championship 2021 at Islamabad Tennis Complex G-6 on Friday. Also, Muzammil Murtaza and Yousaf Khalil have confirmed their berths in top-four stage after winning their matches.
It is pertinent to mention here that Mohammad Shoaib had defeated ace national player Aqeel Khan in the Federal Cup final on last Saturday at SDA-PTF Tennis Complex 2-1 with the score-line of 6-4, 3-6 and 6-3. Mohammad Shoaib exhibited top qualify game against Heera Ashiq and did not allow his opponent to settle in the court and take a sigh of breath during the whole match.
Aqeel Khan defeated Barkat Ullah in straight sets 2-0, as he conceded 4 games in each set in the first quarterfinal. Mohammad Shoaib, who had claimed national title after beating Aqeel in the Federal Cup final on December 11, 2021 at PTF Tennis complex, beat Heera Ashiq in similar style 2-0 with the score-line of 6-2 and 6-4 in the second quarterfinal.
Muzammil Murtaza outclassed Mudassir Murtaza with 6-0 and 6-3 score without facing any big hurdle in the third quarter final while Yousaf Khalil overcame Mohammad Abid 2-0, as the final score was 6-4 and 6-4 in the last quarter final fixture.

ITF appoints Asim Shafik as the Member Coaches Commission 2022-2023

ISLAMABAD (December 17, 2021):-International Tennis Federation (ITF) has appointed Asim Shafik, as the member of the ITF Coaches Commission for a-term of two years 2022-2023.
According to a press release of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), the services of Asim Shafik, who is the National Development Director-PTF, have been recognized at such a high level for the first time in the history of Pakistan tennis. Asim is a former Pakistan number 1, Davis Cup player, ITF level-3 Coach, and is currently Head Coach of the National Training Centre (NTC) in Islamabad.
President PTF, Salim Saifullah Khan and PTF Management thanked David Haggerty, President- ITF, and his team for reposing confidence in the abilities and expertise of Asim Shafik which led to his appointment.
