Cricket News: PCB invites 13 spinners, 11 pacers for special camps
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE:-Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has invited 13 spinners and 11 pacers for special training camps, which will be established at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore this month. Alos, 14 batters will be involved in the two camps. Javeria Khan (83), Noreen Yaqoob (3 for 21, Saima Malik (3 for 29) lead Challengers to finalSports Bulletin ReportKARACHI:-Challengers defeated Dynamites by 7 runs to reach in the final of the Pakistan Cup Women’s Cricket Tournament here at State Bank cricket ground on Friday, as Javeria Khan (83), Noreen Yaqoob (3 for 21, and Saima Malik (3 for 29) were notable performance that led Challengers to final. Now, Challengers and Dynamites will meet again in the final of the tournament on Sunday, 4 June at the same venue. Omaima Sohail-led Challengers managed 160 for seven in 45 overs. Javeria Khan was top scorer with 83 runs, as her innings was laced with six fours. She faced 126 balls. The only prominent partnership of 75 runs in the innings came from Javeria and Fareeha Mehmood for the fifth wicket. Nashra Sundhu claimed 2 wickets for 25 from 9 oversDynamites opening batters Khadija Chishti (15 runs off 37 balls) and captain Sidra Amin (36 runs off 53 balls) provided a solid 43-run start to the innings. After the dismissal of Khadija, Aima Saleem soon followed Khadija, both batters were snared by left-arm spinner Saima as Dynamites were 48 for 2 in 14.2 overs. Experienced Aliya Riaz joined Sidra Amin in the middle and both knitted 26 runs for the third wicket. Javeria got player of the match award.

Javeria Rauf, Omaima Sohail hit half-centuries to guide Challengers to victorySports Bulletin ReportKARACHI:-Challengers defeated Blasters by five wickets in the 2nd round of the Pakistan Women’s Cricket Cup, as a couple of half-centuries from Javeria Rauf and Captain Omaima Sohail guided their team to the first victory at Blasters at the State Bank Stadium on Wednesday. Javeria was declared the player of the match.Blaster set a 191 runs target on the scoreboard, as the winners lost two wickets for 42 runs in the 13th over. At this stage, Javeria and Omaima got together on the pitch, as both batters aggregated 134 runs for the third wicket before both batters Javeria (82 runs, 119 balls, 4x6, 6x1) and Omaima (75 runs, 86 balls, 4x5x, 6x1) went back to the dressing-room on successive deliveries of the 38th over. However, in 42nd over Challengers reached on target after losing 5 girls. Left-arm spinner Anam Amin got 2 wickets for the Blasters after conceding 42 runs in 10 overs.Earlier, Challengers skipper won the toss and put opposition into bat first, Blasters were reeling at 42 for three in the 13th over, when Captain Muneeba Ali was joined by Iram Javed. Both batters stitched a 104-run partnership for the fourth wicket, but after the departure of Muneeba (50 runs, 75 balls, 4x2, 6x0) and Iram (49 runs, 69 balls, 4x3, 6x2), no Blasters batter managed to score significantly as the side was dismissed for 190 in the allotted 45 overs. Masooma and Sadia Iqbal grabbed four and three wickets, respectively for Challengers.

Cricket News: ICC announces officials for World Test Championship final
Sports Bulletin ReportDubai (UAE): International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday named the match officials for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final, which will be played between Australia and India at The Oval cricket ground London from June 7 to 11, 2023.Kiwi umpire Chris Gaffaney and Englishman Richard Illingworth will be the on-field umpires for the Ultimate Test, which has 12 June earmarked as a reserve day to make up for any lost time during the scheduled five days of play.Gaffaney, 48, will be standing in his 49th Test match while it will be the 64th Test for 59-year-old Illingworth, who also stood in the first WTC Final two years ago that New Zealand won with an eight-wicket victory over India in Southampton.Another England umpire, Richard Kettleborough, will also be officiating in a second successive WTC Final, once again appointed as the TV umpire. Kumar Dharmasena of Sri Lanka will be the fourth umpire. Richie Richardson of the West Indies will be the match referee.

ICC announces prize money for World Test Championship finalist
Aamir Ali JanjuaDubai (UAE):-International Cricket Council (ICC) has unfolded the prize money details of the World Test Championship final, as the winners will pocket $1.6 million. The final between Australia and India will be played from June 7 to 11, 2023 at The Oval cricket ground in London. The side will collect $800,000.According to media department of ICC, the prize money is the same as that for the inaugural edition of the championship in 2019-21, with a total purse of $3.8 million. Black Caps were rewarded with $1.6 million besides the glittering Mace in Southampton two years ago courtesy eight-wicket win over India in the six-day final.All nine ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 participants will get a share in the $3.8 million purse. South Africa have earned $450,000 by finishing third in the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 standings. England who made a late resurgence in the two-year cycle with an aggressive playing style, ended up fourth on the table – a reward of $350,000.Sri Lanka, who were in the running for a place in the final before their series defeat in New Zealand, dropped down to the fifth spot. Their prize money share is $200,000. Sixth-placed New Zealand, seventh-placed Pakistan, eighth-placed West Indies, and ninth-placed Bangladesh will be given $100,000 each.

Cricket News: PCB selects Fatima to lead Pakistan in T20 Asia Cup
Sports Bulletin ReportKARACHI:-Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) named Fatima Sana the captain of the national team, which take part in the forthcoming ACC Emerging Women’s T20 Asia Cup to be played in Hong Kong next month from June 12 to 21 this year 2023.Also, the national women’s selection committee has announced a 14-woman squad. Four players, who featured in the inaugural ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup earlier in the year, are picked up for the eight-team tournament. The squad has been put together after observing performances in the T20 phase of the Pakistan Cup Women’s Cricket Tournament and emerging camp in Multan in March.Pakistan Squad:Fatima Sana (captain), Anoosha Nasir, Eyman Fatima, Gull Feroza, Gulrukh, Lubna Behram, Najiha Alvi (wicketkeeper), Natalia Parvaiz, Sadaf Shamas, Shawaal Zulfiqar, Syeda Aroob Shah, Tuba Hassan, Umm-e-Hani and Yusra Amir. Hosts reached on target of 296 runs in 47.3 overs, as the Pakistani bowlers could not create any difficulty for Ervine and Gumbie, who aggregated 277 runs for the second-wicket stand of 277. Ervine scored 161 off 144 including 19 fours and three sixes, as his partner Gumbie made 111 off 124 with the help of 10 fours. Craig Ervine declared man of the match. That Pakistan Shaheens posted a target of 296 was because of Omair’s 153 off 126. The right-handed batter struck 14 fours and four sixes and provided stability in the middle order after his side had lost three wickets for 55. The 24-year-old Karachi-born stitched a 139-run partnership with Kamran Ghulam, who made 55 off 79, for the fourth wicket.
