 Junior National Tennis Championship: Bilal Asim bags brace of titles
LAHORE:-Bilal Asim (SICAS) clinched two crowns in the Bank of Punjab (BoP) Junior National Tennis Championship 2022 that concluded here at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah on Thursday. In the boys U-18 final, Bilal Asim (SICAS) played well against Mahatir Mohammad and outpaced him with a score of 6-3, 6-4 to clinch the title. In the boys U-18 doubles final, the pair of Hashesh Kumar and Mahatir Mohammad defeated Bilal Asim and Ahmad Nael 4-6, 6-4, 10-5. Bilal also won the boys U-16 final to double his crowns as he outsmarted Asad Zaman 6-1, 6-2. In the boys U-14 final, Hamza Roman had to struggle hard to beat spirited Hamza Ali Rizwan (LGS Paragon) 6-2, 2-6, 10-8. In the boys U-14 doubles final, Hamza Roman/Taimoor Khan outlasted Amir Mazari/Sameer Zaman 4-2, 4-0. The boys U-12 final between Omer Jawad and Hamza Ali Rizwan proved to be a dull match, where both the players kept on playing defensive games and took more than two hours to finish the final, which was won by Omer Jawad 7-6(4), 4-6, 10-4. In the boys/girls U-12 doubles final, the talented pair of Abubaker Talha (Wapda) and Zohaib Afzal Malik (SA Gardens) defeated the duo of Ismail Aftab and Omer Jawad 4-0, 2-4, 11-9. In the boys/girls U-10 final, M Shayyan Afridi toppled Hamza Sohail 4-2, 4-1. In the girls U-12 final, Zunaisha Noor beat Esha Rabi 4-1, 4-0. In the girls U-18 final, Natalia Zaman beat Ashtafila Arif 6-3, 6-0 while in the ladies singles final, Noor Malik beat Asfa Shahbaz 6-1, 6-2. In the boys/girls U-8, Ahsan Bari won the gold medal, Daniyal Afzal Malik silver and Daniyal Abdullah bronze medal. In the boys/girls U-6, Mamnoon Bari grabbed the gold medal, Hadi Ali silver and Hamza Suhai bronze medal. Asim Hafeez Qureshi, Executive Vice President Bank of Punjab, graced the occasion as chief guest and distributed prizes, shields and certificates among the winners and top performers. National Juniors Tennis: Bilal, Mahatir, Hamid and Hashesh move into semifinals
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE:-Bilal Asim, Hashesh Kumar, Mahatir Mohammad and Hamid Israr moved into the semifinals of the Bank of Punjab (BoP) Junior National Tennis Championship 2022 here at Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah on Monday.  Results: Under-18 quarterfinals: Bilal Asim (Sicas) beat Ahtesham Humayun 6-4, 6-1, Hashesh Kumar beat Haider Ali Rizwan 6-4, 7-5, Mahatir Muhammad of Karachi beat Asad Zaman 6-2, 6-7(1) and Hamid Israr beat Rafay Cheema 6-4, 6-0. In the U-16 pre-quarterfinals, Sameer Zaman beat Aized Khalil 6-1, 6-0, Ahtesham Humayun beat Sohan Noor 6-0, 1-0 (rtd).  Under-14 quarterfinals: Hamza Roman beat Faizan Ali 4-0, 4-2, Amir Mazari (Aitchison) thrashed Taimoor Khan 4-0, 4-0, Ismail Aftab beat Sohan Noor 4-0, 4-1, Samir Zaman beat Razik Sultan 4-1, 4-2, Omer Jawad beat Hashir Alam 4-1, 4-1, Zohaib Afzal Malik (SA Gardens) beat Anis Khan 4-0, 4-0 and Hamza Ali Rizwan (LGS Paragon) beat Abdur Rehman 4-1, 4-1. The matches were also played in different age categories and the top seeds advanced to the next round. Gatorade Trophy: Adnan Khan outplays Mohammad Ali in final
Sports Bulletin Report KARACHI:-Adnan Khan outplayed Mohammad Ali in the Men’s Singles final of the 2nd Gatorade Trophy Tennis Championships concluded at Union Club Karachi Sunday. The final score-line was 6-2 and 6-3. Marium Shahid finished winner in Round Robin,won her last match against Aiman Haris with 8-2 Score. Runner-up was Eschelle Asif. Dhuraf Das was winner in Under 15 final, he beat Taimoor Ansari with 4-2, 7-5 score. Imdad Ali beat Mahd Shehzad in Under-13, as the final score-line was 4-2 and 4-2. Syed Shakir Hussain of Pakistan Beverage Ltd was the chief guest while Hira Shamim, chairperson Medical & Sports Committee Karachi Bar Association was guest of Honor. High Performance Tennis Training Camp starts at Punjab Tennis Academy
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE:-A High Performance Tennis Training Camp started at Punjab Tennis Academy, as the Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Asadullah Faiz inaugurated at Bagh-e-Jinnah on Thursday evening. Former Secretary Sports Punjab Rao Iftikhar Ahmed, Chairman Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA), Chief Sports Consultant SBP Hafeez Bhatti, PLTA Secretary General Rashid Malik (Tamgh-e-Imtiaz), Zahid Zafar Finance Secretary PLTA, Col (R) Asif Dar, Ashfaq Chohan and other officials as well as top tennis coaches, top ranked players and their families were also present on this occasion. As many as top 32 players from across the country are participating in the month-long High Performance Training Camp being sponsored by Ali Embroidery Mills and conducted by Punjab Lawn Tennis Association in cooperation with Sports Board Punjab (SBP). Former Davis Cupper and SBP Head Coach Rashid Malik will be supervising the training sessions at the High Performance Tennis Training Camp. Pakistan's longest-serving national champion Aqeel Khan, Davis Cupper Shahzad Khan, former Pakistan champions Yasir Khan and Ahmed Babar are also imparting training to top 3 players of all categories including men, women and juniors from Under-8 to Under-18. PLTA Secretary General Rashid Malik thanked Sports Board Punjab for their support in accommodating the camp coaches and outstation players and also for providing them all facilities and food. "I am also thankful to Secretary Sports Asadullah Faiz and Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan for their cooperation in conducting the first-ever High Performance Tennis Training Camp 2022 that will help the future tennis stars in the long run. "I am also grateful to Tariq Zaman, CEO Ali Embroidery Mills, for taking this initiative for having High performance Tennis Training Camp for the first time ever for the promotion of tennis in Pakistan. Secretary Sports Asadullah Faiz will be chief guest at the opening ceremony and inaugurate the first ever High Performance Tennis Training Camp 2022. We are planning to hold an international tennis tournament at the SBP's Tennis Stadium after the completion of practice courts.” The Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab also said that new talent will emerge from High Performance Tennis Training Camp. “Young players should take maximum benefit from the vast experience of top coaches, who are capable of transforming them into true champions. The coaches are keen to prepare these youngsters for international tennis tournaments and hopefully, these talented kids will soon start winning international laurels for the country," he added.

Gatorade Trophy Tennis Championship commences at Union Club
Ishrat Zehra KARACHI:-The 2nd edition of the Gatorade Trophy Tennis Championship commenced at Union Club. Mohammad Khalid Rehmani, Vice President Pakistan tennis Federation formally opened the Championship. The Championship is being sponsored by Pakistan Beverage Limited, organized by Karachi Tennis Association. Prominent who graced the first day were Shakir Hussain, Area Manager Pakistan Beverage Ltd, Mohammad Shaikr, (NGO Rahnuma). Seema Shakir (NGO Rehnuma), Amber Nazir (Dodgeball), Raisa Ashfaq (KTA), Perween Akhter ( KTA), Sarwar Hussain ( KTA).  Mohammad Asif of  PAF Base Masroor beat Saad Ahmed in straight sets 2-0 with the score-line of 6-1 and 6-2 in the opening match of the championship. AQEEL KHAN LIFTS CAS KHYBER CUP OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-Pakistan No.1 Aqeel Khan lifted the trophy of the 39th Chief of the Air Staff Khyber Cup Open Tennis Championship-2022 after defeating Mohammad Shoaib by 7-5 and 6-2 in the final played at PAF Officers’ Mess Islamabad. Air Marshal Hamid Rashid Randhawa, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Administration), Pakistan Air Force was the chief guest at the occasion. In the Boys Under-18, qualifier Mahatir Mohammad upset top seed Sami Zeb in a thrilling final by 6-2 and 6-2 and won the championship. In the Under-12, Hamza Ali Rizwan defeated Zohaib Afzal Malik by 4-2 and 4-1 in final match. In the Men’s doubles final, Aqeel Khan and Mohammad Abid defeated Mohammad Shoaib and Barkat Ullah by 6-3 and 7-6. At the end, the chief guest gave away trophies and cash prize to the winners and runners-up. It is important to add here that Ladies event was not the part of top national tennis fixture.

Sports Bulletin Report KARACHI:-The 2nd Gatorade Trophy Tennis Championship will start from May 28 at Union Club Karachi under the banner Karachi Tennis Association. According to an official, the events are , Men’s Singles Men’s Doubles, Ladies Singles,  Juniors Under 17 Singles,  Under 15 Singles, Under 13 Singles , Under 11 Singles, Under 9 Singles, Under 7 Singles and Under 15 Doubles Mohammad Khalid Rehmani will act as Tournament Director & Referee while Qudsia Raja , Assistant Referee, Sarwar Hussain, Organizing Secretary. Ishrat zehra , Media Coordinator, Eibad Sarwar, Farha Riaz, Erum Bukhari, Fouzia Falak, Raisa Ashfaq, Perween Akhter , Touqeer Hashmi are the members.
