National Taekwondo Championship: Army athletes lift 7 gold medals, HEC & PAF claim one each
Abdul Jabbar Faisal RAWALPINDI:-Strong Army athletes produced sparking performance by winning 7 gold medals on the opening day of the Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship 2022 that kicked off at Shahbaz Shareef Sports Complex, Rawalpindi on Friday. Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shared each one gold medal after 9 bouts. Teams from Provinces, Departments, Services, Gilgit Baltistan, AJK and Islamabad are participating, as the event is being sponsored by Combaxx Sports and Korean Embassy, Islamabad. Korean Ambassador National Senior Taekwondo Championship starts on Friday
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD: The 15th Korean Ambassador National Senior Taekwondo Championship will start from Friday (July 22, 2022) at Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex Rawalpindi under the banner of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), top officials announced this in a press conference at a local hotel on Thursday. President PTF, Mohammad Wasim Janjua further told the media persons that males, females and para teams would take part in the 4-day national championship. “Top national athletes from Balochistan, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber PukhtoonKawa (KPK), Pakistan Army, Air Force (PAF), Navy), Islamabad, Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan will feature in the championship, “he maintained.  “Grand opening ceremony is scheduled to be hosted by HE Kwak Sung-Kyu, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Islamabad and Ehsan-ur-Rehman Mazari, Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC). This event will help enhance and project the soft image of Pakistan and attract a capacity crowd as this is a mega extravaganza of sporting festival of Taekwondo during which talented players will be in action, “he added. “This event will also provide the national players from diverse and far-flung areas of the country to come in contact with each other at a joint platform and interact with each other to have national level exposure and help promote harmony and peace in the society. Our players are highly talented which is evident from their winning a number of medals at international events including the recent Asian Championship held in Korea where Pakistan, “he concluded.
Asian Taekwondo Union allocates two events to Pakistan
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-Asian Taekwondo Union (ATU) has allocated two international taekwondo fixtures to Pakistan, which will be taken place in Islamabad in 2022 and 2023 from November 1 to 4 including 4th Combaxx Asian Taekwondo Open Championship and 5th Asian Open Taekwondo Championship from 1 to 4 Nov 2023 in Islamabad Pakistan. According to an official of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF),Lt Col Raja Wasim Ahmed (R), President PTF has attended recently held Asian General Assembly on 22 June 2022 at Korea. The said meeting was attended by 34 affiliated countries. During this meeting the President gave a presentation for approval of 4th Combaxx Asian Taekwondo Open Championship from 1 to 4 Nov 2022 and 5th Asian Open Taekwondo Championship from 1 to 4 Nov 2023 in Islamabad Pakistan. Now, the federation secretariat office has received the formal approval of said events in Pakistan. This shows the capabilities of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation. This is also a great milestone of the federation struggles for the promotion and development of taekwondo in Pakistan. PTF will try its level best to conduct the said event as per expectations of World Taekwondo and Asian Taekwondo Union.
Korean Taekwondo Championship: Shehbaz wins bronze in Poomsae
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-Mohammad Shehbaz Ahmed has won the bronze medal for Pakistan in the Minus-40 KG individual category in the Poomsae event during the ongoing Chuncheon Korea Open International Taekwondo Championship in Korea. According to an official of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), in the quarter finals, he beat Saudi Arabia's Mohammad Ali Al-Abbas in the quarter finals scoring 6.999 points to Al-Abbas 6.882 in the Minus-40 KG individual category of Poomsae Event to qualify for the semi-final. However, in the semi-finals he was beaten by Korea's former World Champion who beat him 6.966-7600. In this way, Shehbaz has become the second Pakistani player of the ongoing event to have won bronze for country. Earlier, Shahzeb Khan also won bronze medal in the Kyarugi event during the ongoing back-to-back Taekwondo Championships in Korea city of Chuncheon.  Meanwhile, Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) President Lt Col (R) Waseem Ahmad Janjua said: "Our players' have played extremely well and he attributed this grand success to their hard work and also the rigorous training provided to them by the PTF prior to these championships. "Winning two bronze medals in these events in which the world's best outfits are featuring is a great honour for us", Janjua said.
Shahzaib claims bronze medal in Asian Taekwondo Championship
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-Pakistani martial art athlete Mohammad Shahzaib claimed bronze medal in the 25th Asian Taekwondo Kyorugi Championship. He lifted the medal in -54 KG (Senior Khyrougi Event). Lt Col Raja Wasim Ahmed, President PTF has also given Presentation during WT Asia General Assembly and got approval for the conduct of 4th Combaxx Asian Open 2022 and 5th Asian Open 2023 in Islamabad Pakistan. This is a great milestone of the federation struggles for the promotion and development of Taekwondo in Pakistan.
Pakistan to participate in the Asian Taekwondo Championship 2022
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-Pakistan Taekwondo Team will take part in the forth-coming 7th Asian Poomsae, 25th Asian Kyorugi, and the Chuncheon Korea Open International Taekwondo Championships, as the events are scheduled to be held in South Korea from June 22 to July 2, 2022. According to an official of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), Pakistan contingent will depart for Korea on June 20. A strong Pakistan Taekwondo team will feature in different categories of the championships. The team officials will attend the Asian Taekwondo Union (ATU) Council Meeting and the ATU General Assembly will be held on June 22. The Asian Poomsae Event will begin at Chuncheon City, Gangwon Province on June 23 while the 25th Asian Taekwondo Kyorugi Championship will be held from 24th till 27th June at Chuncheon City, Gangwon Province, Korea. Besides, the 2022 Chuncheon Korea Open International Taekwondo Championships will commence on June 29 and will continue till July 2 at the grand Hoban Gym. On the other hand, the Poomsae Kukkiwon Coach Master SEONGOH CHOI (KOREA) and three other Poomsae players namely Mohammad Waseem Jawed, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Flower Zaheer will continue to attend the training camp in Korea for 15 days. They will back home on July 17. Syed Sadaqat Hussain is the team manager while Faisal Nadeem Butt is the trainer. Yousuf Karami of Iran is the head coach for Kyorugi Players. Omar Saeed said: “The team is upbeat and well-prepared for the event and will fare well in these international-level events. Players were given hard training and also international exposure ahead of these prestigious Championships in Korea”. Taekwondo: Pakistani athletes to attend Training Camp in Iran

PSB hires two foreign coaches for national taekwondo players
Sports Reporter ISLAMABAD:-Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has hired the services of two foreign coaches to train the taekwondo players in the camp, which is going on in the premises of Pakistan Sports Complex aiming to upgrade the game skills of players. According to an official of PSB, Pakistan players will participate in the two international events including Asian Games 2022 and South Asian Games 2023 in Pakistan. "Two coaches one from South Korea and one from Iran have been hired to train players. We want to maximize our chances of winning the medals in taekwondo we are putting all resources to achieve our aim. As many as 52 players are taking part in the camp, “official added. President, Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), Col (Retd) Wasim Ahmed Janjua told this reporter that one coach was hired by ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) while the services of other coach was provided by Korean government, Kukkiwon and Korean Embassy in Islamabad on the request of PTF. “Taekwondo is not part of Commonwealth Games 2022. However, it is part of Olympics, Asian Games, Islamic Games, Indoor Martial Art Games and Youth Games, “he concluded.
5 Dan Korean Master Taekwondo Poomsae Course
Ali Zafar KARACHI:-The 1st Combaxx Sindh Taekwondo Poomsae Course & Training Program will commence from April 14, 2022 at the Sindh Sports Board Complex, Nazimabad Karachi. According to an official, the 8-day long course will be conducted by internationally reputed 5th Dan Korean Master SEONG OH CHOI Kukkiwon 5th Dan/Kukkiwon, who has been especially invited to conduct this course in Karachi.  Around 50 athletes and 15+ Coaches/Referees from all over Sindh will take part in the course, as it is a certified course conducted by internationally reputed Korean Master, the players will be imparted important and modern skills of the game. The participants will be given certificates at the conclusion of this extensive course. The President of Sindh Taekwondo Association Kamran Qamar has thanked to Col Waseem Janjua President Pakistan Taekwondo Federation and Omar Saeed CEO PTF &  Combaxx Sports for all the support, collaboration and supervision. He termed this course as unique opportunities for players from across the province and said since Taekwondo is a recognized Olympic Sport, it is not provides opportunity to bring laurels for the country at national and international level but  this sports also builds strength, stamina and flexibility, it greatly improves ones overall fitness and well-being.
Taekwondo Federation elects Wasim Ahmed Janjua its president for next four years term
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) has re-elected Lt Col (Retd) Raja Wasim Ahmed Janjua as its president for the next four years term, as the election of the federation held at 255, R A Bazar, Rawalpindi Cantt at Physical and Zoom Modes. The local residents of twin cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad physically attended the meeting at PTF Secretariat while Rizwan Ul Haq Razi, Associate Secretary of Pakistan Olympic Association attended the meeting on Zoom Mode as observer. The representatives of World Taekwondo Federation, Asian Taekwondo Union and Kukkiwon Headquarters, Seoul Korea also monitored the process.
