Women's Blind Cricket: Punjab Clinch thrilling Victory Final
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Punjab outclassed hosts Islamabad by 9 wickets in the final of the 3rd Women's Blind Cricket Championship that concluded at Shalimar cricket ground on Friday March 9 on the occasion of International Women's Day.In the morning, Punjab won the toss and elected to field first. Islamabad batters put up a strong fight, scoring a commendable 202 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Kiran Rafique led the charge with a stellar 74 runs, ably supported by Rabia Javed Hashmi's contribution of 35 runs. Esha Faisal from Punjab managed to pick up the only wicket for her team. In response, Punjab chased down the target in a nail-biting final over, showcasing exceptional batting skill. Nisha Bux laid a strong foundation with 76 runs, while Noor Sabir's brilliant knock of 82 not out runs secured the win for Punjab. President lauds blind cricket team for bringing fame to Pakistan
Sports ReportISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Blind Cricket team players called on President Dr Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadar on Monday soon after arriving back from Dubai and losing three matches series against arch-rival India 1-2. President lauded them for bringing laurels to Pakistan besides highlighting globally the capabilities of differently-abled persons.He said that during the recent years, blind cricket got special attention and recognition in Pakistan. The active role of the Pakistan Blind Cricket Board in promoting and holding contests is welcoming, he added. Calling for the encouragement of the blind cricket team, the president also called for acknowledgement of the cricketers’ impressive role to highlight the team’s efforts and achievements.

India stun Pakistan by 8 wickets in Blind Cricket Series
Sports Bulletin ReportDubai (USA): India blind cricket team outclassed Pakistan by 8 wickets in the final T20 encounter of the three-match Tie and won the series 2-1 here at ICC Cricket Academy, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday. Ajay Reddy declared Man of the Match.Captain Nisar Ali, winning the toss for the third consecutive time, opted to bat first. Pakistan changed their opening pair, bringing in Badar Munir to maximize the power-play overs. However, Badar's early dismissal after scoring two boundaries set the stage for Muhammad Salman's splendid innings of 74 runs off 39 balls, with Muhammad Rashid contributing 32 off 22 balls. Pakistan posted 193 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs, with Durga Rao standing out among the bowlers, claiming three wickets, while Venkatesh took two.In response, India chased down the target in the penultimate over, scoring 196 runs in 18.4 overs, losing two wickets in the process. Ajay Reddy's brisk innings of 66 runs off 35 balls turned the game in India's favor, supported by Sunil Ramesh's impressive 64 off 53 balls. Mohammad Salman and Mohammad Idress claimed one wicket each for Pakistan.Pakistan lost the three-match series by 2-1. Badar Munir leads Green Shirts to win with a superb knock of 129 runs off 63 ballsSports Bulletin ReportDubai (UAE): Pakistan Blinds Cricket team defeated arch-rival India by 5 wickets in the first contest of the 3-match Blinds Cricket T-20 bilateral series at International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket Academy Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday.Captain Nisar Ali won the toss and opted to put India in to bat first. Pakistan's bowler Badar Munir made an early breakthrough by dismissing the dangerous Sunil Ramesh in the third over. Despite this, India managed a competitive total of 213 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Indian captain Dargah Rao contributed with 61 runs off 42 balls, while Venkatesh Rao scored 49 runs off 37 balls. Pakistan's bowlers Badar Munir and Kamran Akhter claimed 2 wickets each.In response, Pakistan faced early setbacks, losing a couple of wickets, including Captain Nisar Ali, who scored 18 runs off 11 balls. However, Badar Munir took the charge with an exceptional innings, and guided Pakistan to chase down the target of 214 runs in the 20th over with 5 wickets in hand. Pakistan Blind Cricket Team named for the Tri-Nation Series
India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka to participate in the fixture in the UAESports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) announced a 15-man national team for a Tri-Nation Series, which will be played at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket Academy in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).According to an official of PBCC, besides Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka will take part in the tournament, which will get underway from February 21, 2024. PBCC revealed the team after the approval of Syed Sultan Shah Chairman of PBCC.Names of players: Zafar Iqbal, Riasat Khan, Mohammad Shahzaib, Fakhar Abbas, Mohammad Salman (B1), Nisar Ali (Captain), Badar Munir (Vice Captain), Shahzeb Haider, Moain Aslam, Babar Ali (B2), Matiullah, Mohammad Rashid, Mohammad Safdar, Kamran Akhter, Akmal Hayyat (B3).Team Officials: Mohammad Jameel (Head Coach), Tahir Mehmood Butt (Trainer).

Badar Munir got Man of the Match award.In the morning, Bahawalpur won the toss and asked Lahore to take guard. Lahore set a mammoth total of 229 runs on the board for the loss of 5 wickets in their stipulated 20 overs. Badar Munir once again shined with the bat, and he scored an unbeaten 163 runs off 74 balls featuring 6 sixes and 16 fours. Babar Ali took 2 wickets for Bahawalpur. In reply, Bahawalpur was restricted to 170 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted quota of 20 overs. Moain Aslam was their top scorer with 64 runs off 36 balls and Zafar Iqbal made 26 runs off 19 balls. T20 Blinds Cricket: Kashmir beat Islamabad by 5 wickets in final
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Kashmir Blinds’ cricket team outplayed Islamabad by 5 wickets in the final of the T20 Cricket Championships Trophy here at E-9 cricket ground on Wednesday.Islamabad decided to bat first after winning the toss and set a 259 for 6 runs total on the board. Akmal scored 88 runs and shahzaib scored quick 74 runs off 32 balls for Islamabad. In reply, Kashmir chased the target just 2 balls earlier for the loss of 5 wickets captain Nisar scored an innings of 172 off 73 balls. Kashmir won the match by 5 wickets. Shahzaib, Matiullah and Fakhar Abbas shared wicket a piece from Islamabad.NISAR Ali was named man of the match. Riasat Khan from Abbottabad was awarded best player in B1 Category, Kamran Akhtar was awarded best player in B2 Category, Mohammad Rashid was awarded best player in B3 Category and NISAR Ali was awarded best Wicket-Keeper of the tournament award.According to an official of the Islamabad Blinds Cricket Association (IBCA), local media was not allowed to cover this event.

Hosts Islamabad to face Kashmir in the final today at E-9 PAF cricket groundSports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Kashmir and Islamabad have won their last league matches to confirm to play the final of the PAF T20 Cricket Championships Trophy for the Blind 2024 here at E-9 cricket ground on Tuesday. The final will be played on Wednesday at the same venue.In the first match, Kashmir got a convincing victory over Abbottabad by 7 wickets. Abbottabad scored 215 in 20 overs. Risat Khan scored 82 runs from Abbottabad. In reply, Kashmir easily chased the target in 12.3 overs for the loss of 5 wickets Kamran Akhtar scored 97 and Rashid scored 75 not out runs. Kamran was named man of the match.In the second match, Islamabad won the toss and decided to bat first. Islamabad scored 265 runs in the allotted 20 overs without loss of any wicket. Shahzaib scored 120 runs not off 58 balls and Akmal scored 117 after facing 65 balls. In reply, Bahawalpur could manage 232 runs for the loss of 9 wickets and Islamabad won the match with 33 runs. Mohammad Rashid was the top scorer with 47 runs. Hasnain took 2 wickets. Shahzaib, and Anees claimed one wicket a piece. Shahzaib Haider was awarded Man of the Match on his notable performance.

T20 Blinds Cricket: Bahawalpur and Kashmir post victories
Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Bahawalpur and Kashmir have won their matches of the PAF T20 Cricket Championships Trophy for the Blind 2024 after beating Abbottabad and Islamabad respectively by 10 wickets and 41 runs at E-9 cricket ground on Monday.In the first match, Bahawalpur got a thumping victory over Abbottabad by 10 wickets. Abbottabad scored 184 in 20 overs. Naeemullah was the top scorer with 84 runs from Abbottabad. In reply, Bahawalpur easily chased the target in 9.4 overs without wasting any batter. Unbeaten batters Moin scored 97 and Rashid scored 75 runs. Moin was named man of the match for his superb innings.In the second match, Islamabad won the toss and opted to bowl first. Kashmir scored 251 in stimulated 20 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Nisar scored 112 not out and Kamran Akhtar scored 73 runs from Kashmir. In reply, Islamabad could manage just 210 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Kashmir won the match with 41 runs. Matiullah was the top scorer with 70 runs. Idress and Tehsin shared wicket a piece. Nisar was awarded Man of the Match on his brilliant century.On Tuesday, the first match will be played between Kashmir and Abbottabad while the second match will be played between Bahawalpur and Islamabad at the same venue.

Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Hosts Islamabad and Kashmir registered wins in the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) T20 Cricket Championships Trophy after beating Abbottabad by 8 wickets and Bahawalpur by 1 run respectively on Sunday at PAF Cricket Ground E-9 Islamabad. Air Commodore Mohammad Hassan Afzal TI (M), Base Commander, PAF Base Islamabad graced the opening ceremony as chief guest.  In the first match, Islamabad outclassed Abbottabad by 8 wickets. Abbottabad bowled out in 18 on 107 runs. Riasat Khan was the top scorer with 22 runs from Abbottabad. Shahzaib took 3 wickets while Matiullah took two wickets. In reply, Islamabad easily chased the target in 10.2 overs with a brisk knock of 36 by Shahzaib Haider, who was named man of the match for his all-round performance.In the second match, Bahawalpur opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Kashmir scored 242 in stimulated 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Kamran Akhtar scored 88 runs from Kashmir. In reply, Bahawalpur scored 241 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of two wickets thus Kashmir won the match by 1 run. Rashid was the top scorer with 136 runs, and he was awarded Man of the Match.On Monday, two matches will be played, as in the first match will be played between Bahawalpur and Abbottabad while the second match will be played between Kashmir and Islamabad at the same venue.
