International Badminton Tournament from November 7 at Islamabad
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-Secretary, Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF) Wajid Ali Choudhary announced on Wednesday that capital city Islamabad would hosts 13-nation international badminton event next month in the premises of Pakistan Sports Complex. While talking to media representatives in a press conference here at Media Center of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) he further said that the fixture will be held from November 7 to 10 this year 2019, as there would be five categories including Men's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women Singles, Women's Double and Mixed Double in the four days international badminton fixture. "All matches will be played at Rodham Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex, "he maintained. Wajid said that PBF had written to government for financial support but still waiting for response. "Yonex is our title sponsor and they will provide us all equipment and prize money of US$10,000, which will be distributed according to World Badminton Federation's rules, "he said. While replying a question secretary PBF said that Asian Badminton Federation (ABF) was also providing $8000 financial support for this international fixture. "However, our estimated budget is around Rs.3.5 millions. It will a great achievement for holding this international event in the capital city of the country, "he viewed. "Around 50 players including hosts Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives, Afghanistan, Canada, Malaysia, Thailand, Iran, Iraq Morocco, Cheek Republic and other countries will show their power in the Yonex Sunrise Pakistan Series International Badminton Tournament 2019, "he concluded.

Wahab Riaz leads Southern Punjab to four-wicket win over KPK
Sports Bulletin Report FAISALABAD:-Wahab Riaz’s three for 28 with the ball and an unbeaten 17-ball 42 secured a four-wicket win for Southern Punjab over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium in the sixth match of the National T20 Cup on Tuesday. Wahab took the wickets of Sahibzada Farhan (27 off 19), Adil Amin (7 off 12) and Iftikhar Ahmad (0 off 2) to leave Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reeling at 51 for four in 8.5 overs. That Khyber Pakhtunkhwa managed a respectable score was due an 83-run stand between Mohammad Rizwan and Khushdil Shah Rizwan scored 45 off 40 balls, hitting four fours and a six, while Khushdil cracked an unbeaten 32-ball 56, embellished with five fours and three sixes. Aamer Yamin and Mohammad Irfan picked up a wicket each as they gave 31 and 19 runs, respectively. Southern Punjab floundered in the first half of the chase with half of their batting lineup back in the pavilion in 8.5 overs with only 51 runs on board as Mohammad Mohsin took three wickets. But with his unbeaten 49 off 35 balls, which included four fours and a six, Saif Badar weathered the storm. He crafted a 55-run stand with Aamer (15 off 10). Four Pakistan women to attend ACC coaching course
Our Sports Reporter LAHORE:-The involvement and participation of Pakistani women in mainstream cricket continues to increase as four women have registered for a three-day ACC Level 1 Women Coaching Course, which will be held in Lahore from 17 to 19 October. Women registered for the first step in future coaching roles include Abbottabad’s Atika Sabir Khan, Lahore’s Fareeha Mahmood, Shehla Bibi from Wah Cantt and Tasleem Bano from the Gaizer district of Gilgit Baltistan. Fareeha is a current Pakistan international who featured in three T20Is against Sri Lanka in March 2018. Other participants in the course, first of its kind, include representatives from Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bhutan, Hong Kong, Iran, Kuwait (two), Malaysia, Maldives, Oman (two) and United Arab Emirates. Ali Zia, Senior General Manager – National Cricket Academy, and also a course instructor course said: “We have already organized two Level-2 courses in the past. The feedback given by ACC to PCB was commendable and it was marked as the best-ever organized so far. “There is a certain standard set for the course, the participants will gain great benefit from the course, as it will provide them with an opportunity to go back to their countries and train young girls. “The ACC’s Test playing countries are always there in development of the associate countries and will continue to play an active role in future.” Sultan Rana, ACC’s Events and Development Manager, said: “ACC is working with its member countries in the development of the game in the region. The ACC takes pride in hosting its inaugural women’s level-1 course at NCA.  The initiative was taken in the ACC’s Development Committee meeting, which was chaired by Chairman PCB Mr Ehsan Mani. Our purpose is to encourage more girls in this game, and the course will provide an opportunity to inspire them. Youth is real asset of Pakistan, says Adnan Arshad Aulakh
SB Report LAHORE:-Director General Sports Punjab, Adnan Arshad Aulakh has said that youth was the real asset of Pakistan and youth were capability to steer the country into the right direction; he expressed these views while addressing Youth Conference 2019 at SBP E-Library, Nishtar Park Sports Complex on Tuesday. Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, Divisional Sports Officer Nadeem Qaiser, DSO Tanveer Shah and large number of girls and boys were also present in Youth Conference held under the auspices of Jago NGO. Addressing the Youth Conference, Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh lauded the holding of Youth Conference. “Such platforms are need of the hour to give right direction to youth of the country especially in this crucial time”. “We have 64 per cent of youth in our country and such a large number of young people can change the fate of the country if they managed to utilise their abilities and potential properly”. Adnan Arshad Aulakh further said: “Our youth must realize its responsibilities. Through sheer hard work, our youth can surpass every kind of hurdles”. Aulakh said Sports Board Punjab was making effective efforts to provide sufficient sports facilities to youth of the province. “Sports activities are must for healthy youth. We are also going to launch youth policy in near future”. Highlighting Punjab govt’s measures for the bright future of youth, Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh said: “Punjab government recently launched Youth Portal. Our youth can utilise various facilities such as skill development, entrepreneurship and job opportunities etc with a single click in Punjab Youth Portal”. He also visited various departments of Punjab E-Library where Head Librarian Asif Bilal briefed him about different features and functions of E-Library.

SB Report FAISALABAD-An unbeaten 111 from 63 balls by Ahmed Shehzad helped Central Punjab to a four-wicket win over Northern in the fifth fixture of the ongoing National T20 Cup at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium. Set a target of 223, Central Punjab chased down the total on the penultimate ball of the match. Opener Ahmed played an instrumental role in the run-chase, hitting 13 fours and three sixes to guide his team to their first win of the tournament. The next best scorer in the Central Punjab’s innings was Saad Nasim, who made 29 from 20 balls with three fours and a six. Faheem Ashraf lofted two sixes and a four in his 28, which came off 16 balls. Northern’s captain Imad Wasim was the pick of the bowlers with three for 38. That Northern had set 222 for six in 20 overs – after deciding to bat - was because of Asif Ali, who struck a blistering 93 off 35 balls with four fours and 10 sixes. Mohammad Nawaz scored 51 off 35 balls, cracking four sixes and a four as the pair stitched a 107-run partnership for the third-wicket. Faheem took three wickets for 44 runs. Waqas Maqsood, Nasim Shah and Usman Qadir took a wicket each. Salim visits PTF
Our Sports Reporter ISLAMABAD-Salim Saifullah Khan, President Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) visited PTF Tennis Complex Islamabad today to witness the Junior Tennis Initiative Program where student from Schools participated in the training under the JTI National Coordinator Hamid Niaz, NDD PTF/Head coach of NTC Asim Shafik, NTC Assistant coach Azim Khan and Regional JTI Coordinator Masood Abbasi. He interacted with the students undergoing the JTI introductory training session. The students also took photographs with the President PTF, who appreciated their interest in the game of Tennis which is very essential besides generating healthy activities but also building of character and leadership traits of the students. The President also witnessed some matches being played at the ITA-SNGPL ITF PAKISTAN JUNIOR TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS-2019 and interacted with the foreign players and their parents/coaches. The foreign players and their parents showed great satisfaction on the conduct of the event and also the state of the art courts. They said that they have been extended all possible hospitability by the Pakistanis and they feel at home.

A major upset was made in the Girls Singles event when 2nd Seed Safi Meshkatolzahra was eliminated by unseeded talented Jang Soo Ha (KOR) in two straight sets match 6-3, 6-1.  Jang Soo-Ha (KOR) is a daughter of Pakistan National belongs to KP. Another thrilling match of the day was played between Thouard Clemence (FRA) and Mahin Qureshi (PAK) which was won Thouard Clemence (FRA) in exciting two sets match 7-6(3), 7-6(3). Whereas Top seed Aysegul Mert (TUR), 3rd Seed Valitova Arina (RUS), 4th Seed Choi Ji-Woo (KOR)  moved into the quarter final in straight set match. Punjabs 450-member contingent to participate in 33rd National Games 2019

Double draw of Boys & Girls were also took place in presence of players at Referee office. Defending champion Shoaib Khan, who is paring with Huzaifa Abdul Rehman are second seed whereas Daniel Webb (GBR) and Knese Luca Emanuel (GER) are top seed in the Doubles event.  In the Girls Doubles Khanloo Mahta (IRI) and Safi Meshkatolzahra (IRI) are top seed and Choi Ji-Woo (KOR) and Jang Soo Ha (KOR) are second seed.
