Sports Bulletin Report MULTAN:-Yasir Shah-led Balochistan made history when they defeated defending champions Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by eight wickets at the Multan Cricket Stadium to clinch the Pakistan Cup – the final tournament of the 2021-22 domestic cricket season. This was Balochistan’s first title since the inception of the new domestic structure in 2019. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have already annexed the U13, U16, U19, National T20 Cup and Quaid-e-Azam Trophy titles and were looking to take the sixth title home, but was unable to do so courtesy brilliant bowling and captaincy from Yasir Shah and batting from young right-handed batter Abdul Wahid Bangalzai. Chasing 172 to win, Balochistan achieved the target in the 32nd over for the loss of two wickets. The 19-year old Bangalzai took the centre stage in the final with a brilliant unbeaten 80 off 77 balls, the right-hander hit nine fours and two sixes in his innings to ensure a commanding victory for his side. Bangalzai added 77 runs for the second wicket with Haseebullah (45 off 58, six fours) to provide his side a solid platform. Asad Shafiq who batted at number four, returned undefeated on 21 off 33 balls (one four) in a 70-run unbeaten third wicket stand with Bangalzai. Balochistan took away the glittering Pakistan Cup trophy besides the PKR5million winners’ prize. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bagged PKR2.5million. For his match winning performance, Yasir was named the player-of-the-match. Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were asked to bat first by Balochistan captain Yasir.  Right-arm fast Khurram Shahzad sent back Ashfaq Ahmed in the first over for naught. Kamran Ghulam held the innings together as wickets fell at regular intervals at the other end. The right-hander scored 70 off 91 balls (seven fours, one six). Khyber Pakhtunkhwa folded for 171 runs in 46 overs as leg-spinner Yasir took four wickets for 33 in 10 overs. Khurram and Akif Javed took two wickets apiece. Sports Bulletin Report MULTAN:-All eyes will be on defending champions Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when they take on Balochistan in the final of the Pakistan Cup on Friday at the Multan Cricket Stadium. The 50-over tournament will be the last tournament of the 2021-22 domestic cricket season, in which the Pakistan Cricket Board delivered 11 tournaments (280 matches). Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have already annexed the U13, U16, U19, National T20 Cup and Quaid-e-Azam Trophy titles and if they succeed in winning on Friday, this will be their sixth title of the 2021-22 season and seventh in succession. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa qualified for the final after defeating Central Punjab by six wickets in the first semi-final on 28 March, while Yasir Shah-led Balochistan progressed to the title match after overpowering Sindh by 13 runs in the second semi-final on 30 March. The winner will collect a cheque of PKR5million, while the losing side will receive PKR2.5million. Separately, PKR1million will be distributed between the Player of the Tournament, Best Batter, Best Bowler and Best Wicketkeeper, while the Player of the Final will receive PKR35,000. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa captain Khalid Usman: “We have played some outstanding cricket during the season and we would like to end it on a winning note. “The players have responded well in different conditions and different formats, and I hope they will do well in the final. Balochistan is a good side and they have performed well in crunch situations and so, we are hoping that fans are up for a good contest tomorrow.” Balochistan captain Yasir Shah: “I am really proud of the players; the way they have responded in this tournament. “Our combination is really good and I am hopeful of lifting the title on Friday. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a great side, but we have the resources to beat them in all departments of the game.” Both sides have met twice in the tournament before going into Friday’s final. In the third round match at the Multan Cricket Stadium on March 6, Balochistan inflicted a crushing eight-wicket win over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Imran Butt and Asad Shafiq scored unbeaten half-centuries, while Amad Butt and Khurram Shahzad bagged three wickets apiece for the winning team. In the return match at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on 26 March, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bounced back and won the match by 49 runs. Adil Amin’s 92 and captain Khalid three wickets played an instrumental role in the victory. Top performers: Balochistan’s Haseebullah is the second highest run-getter in the tournament with 569 runs from 11 matches at an average of 56.90. The left-handed batter was named player-of-the-match in the second semi-final against Sindh for his 114-ball 131. Test cricketer and Balochistan’s middle-order batter Asad Shafiq currently occupies fourth spot in the batting charts with 489 runs at 97.80. Another Test cricketer and Balochistan’s opening batter Imran Butt has scored 481 runs from 11 outings in the tournament at an average of 53.44. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kamran Ghulam holds the seventh spot in the batting charts with 461 runs from 11 matches at 41.91. The 2020 Domestic Cricketer of the Year was named player-of-the-match in the first semi-final against Central Punjab for his 120-ball 109. Adil Amin is on the ninth spot with 453 runs from 11 matches at 45.30. Amongst the bowlers, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s captain Khalid leads the table with 23 wickets from 11 matches.  Khalid is followed by his rival captain Yasir, who has taken 20 wickets from 11 matches.

ABDULLAH ASJAD ISLAMABAD:-Sindh beat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KPK) by 29 runs in a one day fixture of the Pakistan Cup 2022 at the House of Northern Islamabad on Wednesday. KPK skipper Khalid Usman asked opposite captain Mir Humza to bat first while Sindh’s batters set a mammoth target of 375 runs in 50 overs. Left-handed batter Sharjeel Khan played a sparkling innings and scored double ton. He scored 206 after facing just 136 deliveries as he smashed 19 fours and 14 maximums. Omair Bin Yousaf scored 40 runs in 37 balls while Danish Aziz added 38 runs in team total in 35 balls. KPK bowler Mohammad Wasim got 2 wickets and conceded 72 runs. Asif Afridi sent out solitary batter of Sindh for 37 runs while skipper Khalid Usman picked up a single wicket. In reply, KPK reached close to the big total of 375 but did not chase their target and bundled out at 345 runs in 47 overs and lost the match by 29 runs. Mohammad Sarwar was top scorer with 89 runs in 63 balls. He hit 8 fours and 5 sixes. Adil Amin scored 75 runs in 62 balls and smashed 8 fours and one huge six. KPK skipper Khalid Uman won the toss and decided to bat first and set 280 for 9 runs total on the score board against Northern. KPK batter Kamran Ghulam scored 118 runs in 100 balls. He hit 7 fours and 6 sixes. Fakhar Zaman added 31 runs after wasted 74 deliveries while Adil Ameen contributed 30 runs in his 30 balls innings. Northern Bowler Aamir Jamal picked up 2 wickets for 27 runs. Imad Wasim took 2 for 52 runs while Sulman Irshad got 2 wickets. In reply, Northern team all out at 250 run in 47.5 over’s. Abdullah Asjad ISLAMABAD:-Southern Punjab defeated Northern by 67 runs in the 8th match of Pakistan Cup One-Day Tournament on Tuesday at Diamond Cricket Ground Islamabad. After winning the toss, Northern decided to bowl first. Sothern Punjab set 285 runs target on score board against Northern. Selman Agha played a wonderful innings and scored 171 runs in just 134 balls and he hit 18 fours and 6 brilliant sixes. Khushdil shah added 24 runs in team total and smashed 2 fours and solitary six. Sharoon Siraj scored 20 runs. Northern bowler Aamir Jamal took 3 wickets for 56 runs. Mubashir Khan got 2 wickets and conceded 51 runs while Musa Khan took 2 for 62 runs. In reply, Northern failed to chase 285 runs. Mubashir Khan scored 65 runs in62 balls. Rohail Nazir scored 40 runs in 42 delivers while Mohammad Hurira scored 28 runs in 20 balls. Northern's Skipper Haider Ali decided to ball first after winning the toss against Sindh elevens. Sindhi batters set 252 runs total on scoreboard all out in just 44.4overs in 50 overs per inning fixture. Opener Sherjeel Khan scored 118 runs and faced 84 delivers and hit 11 fours and huge 7 sixes while Danish Aziz added 30 runs in team total for 60 deliveries wasted and smashed 3 fours. Mohammad Hassan scored 28 runs for 39 balls. Northern bowler Asif Ali bowled with best economy rate. He conceded only 10 runs and took 3 wickets. Amir Jamal got 2 for 46 balls while Zaman khan picked up 2 wickets for 47 runs. In reply, Northern scored 128 runs for 4 wickets in 23.2 overs. Balochistan beat Northern by 2 wickets At the House of Northern in Islamabad, Northern’s Umar Amin century went in vain as Balochistan achieved the 276-run target in the last over of the match for the loss of eight wickets. Chasing 276 for win, Wicketkeeper-batter Bismillah Khan struck five fours and as many sixes in his 58-ball 84 runs innings. Bismillah was equally supported by Haseebullah (40 off 59, four fours, one six), Abdul Wahid Bangalzai (39 off 40, five fours, one six) and Amad Butt (31 off 39, one four, one six). For Northern, left-arm spinner Imad Wasim grabbed three wickets for 58. Earlier, after being put into bat, Northern scored 275 for eight in 50 overs. Opening batter Umar scored a 124-ball 116, hitting 10 fours and four sixes. Mubasir Khan coming to bat at number seven scored a quick-fire 43 off 32. Test opener top-scored with a 60-ball 37, hitting one four and two sixes. For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mehran Mumtaz and captain Khalid Usman picked three wickets apiece. In return, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa achieved the target in the 43rd over for the loss of five wickets. After the early departure of Sahibzada Farhan for nine, Waqar Ahmed was joined by Kamran Ghulam. The pair added 113 runs for the second wicket. Waqar top-scored with a 73-ball 68, which included 10 fours and one six. Kamran scored 56 off 62 balls, striking five fours and two sixes. Ali Ahmed LAHORE:-The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has handed out 100 contracts to junior cricketers between 13 and 19 years age bracket as part of PCB’s Junior Development Programme. Alongside the financial support, the PCB will be investing in these youngsters to develop their complete personality, including cricketing skills and providing education to them. With the contracts coming into effect the 100 contracted players will be earning monthly retainers of PKR 30,000 each.
