Top seed Mohammad Shoaib, Mohammad Hasan, and Mahin Aftab lift Titles

ISLAMABAD: Mohammad Shoaib, Mohammad Hasan, and Mahin Aftab have won the titles of men’s singles, U18 singles, and ladies singles, respectively, at the 1st Meinhardt Grade A+ National Ranking Tennis Championships, which concluded here at the PTF Tennis Complex on Saturday.
In the Men’s Singles final, Mohammad Shoaib staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Muzammil Murtaza 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 and claim the championship title, while in the Ladies’ Singles final, Mahin Aftab Qureshi displayed complete dominance, defeating Romasia Malik 6-0, 6-0 to secure the ladies’ title.
In the Boys’ Under-18 Singles final, Mohammad Hassan Usmani overcame Haziq Aasim in a closely contested match, winning 7-6 (2), 6-3 to lift the junior championship trophy.
The closing ceremony was graced by Mohammad Yousaf Gandapur, Country Director, Meinhardt Pakistan, as a chief guest, while Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President, Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), attended as the guest of honour.
The ceremony was also attended by Farhan Azad, Director Meinhardt Pakistan; Imran Younus, Director Meinhardt Pakistan; Brig. Saleem Marwat, Senior Executive Vice President PTF; Col. Zia-ud-Din Tufail (Retd.), Secretary General PTF; and Farman Khan, Director, Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), and Col. Gul Rehman Director-PTF.
